Can't upload photos using facebook app - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I've been experiencing problems when trying to upload photos to facebook using its official app, since I updated my SGH I777 to 4.0.3 using Kies.
Ive tried uploading using wi-fi and 3g and I always get an error message.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

The "official" facebook app sucks!! I recommend using FriendCaster or better yet Fast for Facebook. Much better apps in all areas regarding facebook.

Yes I know I'm just in shock that people still use stock firmware.

This problem is not rom related. Its related to an app or several apps u have installed or a setting u have enabled or disabled. Let's let this one die. Contact the app developers.

It's maybe a little late to offer a solution, but today I finally found out what could be the problem:
I normally share my pictures with "All friends, except ... " (please excuse wrong translation; don't know how it's called in English) and all my picture uploads failed without exception. Today I wanted to share a picture with "All" my friends and... it work perfectly! I tried some more and it seems my problems are gone.
So my possible solution:
-> You have to share with "all", not with some groups or with excluded people. The Facebook App and mobile site is too stupid to work with its own lists.
When creating a new post, just tap the little gear in the lower right corner and select share with "all". It's no solution for pics you don't want to show everyone of course, but it's the only workaround that allows you to upload at all.
Click to collapse
--
it is enough to only have one list of selfmade friend list. U do not have to share to "all" but u can make list of friends that can see your pictures, call it for example "see mypic friends" and only have that in the . But if u share it to: "see mypic friends" and "mom and dad" at the same it fails

I gave up on the Facebook app, and also didn't like the alternatives some listed in this thread. Best thing I did was make a bookmark of the mobile site on the homescreen (which you can use the FB icon or other custom one vs the bookmark icon). Smooth, fast, and no glitches, and no running in the background randomly eating up battery life.

Media Hub APK

Does anyone have the latest media hub apk for ATT GS2? I'm using a custom rom with an older apk, and now it tells me that I need to update to use media hub, but when I go to update, Market shows nothing. I think it has to do with compatability, media hub does work on my rom tho.
I'd appreciate if someone can post the apk, or pull it off a stock rom =D
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Here's the link to the current MediaHub apk
http://www.multiupload.com/J6DORK00VO
Thanks @gr8hairy1
I'm on unnamed 1.3.1 and media hub is in market. Search "media hub".
I can upload mine if you want.

For sake of keeping things up to date, here's an apk for media hub that seems to be working good on ICS 4.0.3 - rom I'm using it with is Shostock 3.0.4
http://db.tt/KbVFbjec
Edit Dec 10: seems like a number of people are having the market not allow them to download Media Hub. So here's a link to it I just uploaded. It is upto date as of December 4.

You can try uninstalling it with titanium backup. Then try downloading it from the market.

Hrrrmmmmm, it shows up fine if you put a space between media and hub.
Shows up for me too. With and without the space.
Sent from my páhhōniē
I tried with a space, but no luck. I think it has to do with the fact that it is a samsung app and I'm guessing it's programmed to show up on market with TouchWiz. I'm not running TouchWiz. And from what I recall, when I was on UnNamed, it used TouchWiz I think.
Any thoughts? Is there a way to force Market to show all apps, regardless of what device is being used?

Android spyware?

Does this happen and how?
After I installed the official grupon app from the market I have been getting notifications every time the phone is powered up from being completely shut off for ads. It's weird as hell. Uninstalled the app but the ads keep coming. It's not a huge deal but it is annoying. I'm sure a full wipe would fix it. but I would like to avoid that if possible.
anyone else expedience anything similar, and if so how do you fix this?

Yes I am... Is that a problem with the newest release?
This has happened to me as well. I did a full wipe and it went away. These is probably some file that has been kept inside the phone to allow ads. If so, then its probably stored in a "residue" folder as I call them. Which is kind of like traces of an app. If there is none then a wipe will be necessary. Have you tried rebooting the phone? Or clearing the cache?

I'll clear cache now and see if its persists.
EDIT:
Ok just cleared my cache, wiped dalvik, battery stats and am repairing permissions in the recovery now. I'll let you all know what happens.
I have never had one of these notifications until tonight as well. I received it right after I had installed go launcher. First time using the launcher so that was my "calculated" guess. I rebooted after seeing it and it has not happened since.
Edit: are the three other posters in this topic using go launcher?
There are apps on the market that will tell you what it is....just search for Push notification something will come up..... illegal downloader apps are usually the culprit ...and its definitely not GO launcher they are on of the best group of Devs without question.....I have been using Go for 2 years pretty much exclusively and NEVER had a problem.

Have you uninstalled any apps you suspected? If so reinstall and launch it, and then run the Airpush app or whatever one you have. After it scans try uninstalling the app through the system settings....manage applications>clear cache then clear data and then uninstall. Thats how I cured my wife's phone when she was downloading music from MP3 Music downloader.
If that don't work you have a real good reason to reflash

Wow. Surprised no educated member decided to help. These are push-ads. They're generally caused by shadier developers of apps on the market. If you install an ad blocker from the market, and one for push-ads you wouldn't get these.
A better solution is to read what you download first, so you KNOW if the dev uses push-ads so you can avoid those apps to begin with.

Ok to begin I take no credit on any development of any kind with this app. Just saw this in the portal and read the thread and got it to work. [Q] SMSes not threading (HELP PLEASE!!)

Hi,
This problem was definitely not present in my old phone, the HTC Desire.
SMSes received from and sent to normal contacts show up as threaded in both the stock "Messaging" app and GoSMS, but automated messages coming from my bank, for example, do not thread.
The funny thing is, even 2 parts of a single SMS appear as two different messages!
The same notifications from the bank have always appeared threaded in my old phone (both in the stock app as well as in GoSMS), so I know it's not a problem with the incoming SMSes but the way they're being handled by the phone.
Any idea why this is happening and whether I can fix it? I'm running stock rooted.

I'm not using any theme, the messages thread neither in the stock app nor GoSMS.
It's the way the phone is handling messages..

Well, installing vanilla android is one solution, but can we fix this by Modding the Samsung rom?
I don't want to lose the features of s3.

No I just replaced the messaging app with one I downloaded. I had to remove SecMms.apk (and odex), rename the vanilla one to the same.
However my point was I hadn't noticed an issue before switching messaging apks.
I just don't like bubble layout so wanted vanilla. Then that was white where I wanted black. I just googled for inverted ics mms.apk

Thanks a lot, bro. One question, is there much difference between this one and the one Mikeyxda put out, the M7_offline.zip? Just curious...
Edit: This works well, thanks again!

i didnt see that one so i dont know. I just needed google now so i posted what i made for my self. lol
When you say disable security do you mean allow unknown sources?
I am on the base .5, rooted and unlocked with FreeGee .5. Installed the zip(painlessly), but no Google Now. It tries to start, then crashes with "android.process.acore" has stopped. Also, Google Voice no longer will start. Restoring backup, and will try again...
BTW, very nice to see another developer in the mix. I am never afraid to try something new.

What does it mean to have security disabled?
The security thing is for those of you that only rooted and did not use the bootloader unlock exploit. Just make sure you have a CMW backup that works before using.
Speaking of backups, I found out (the hard way) that backups taken with the original non-touch freegree CWM do not restore! My problem with the Google Now and android.process.acore was cleared up with a simple clear data per adfurgerson's suggestion, so no harm no foul for me. But if you still have the non-touch version of CWM, install the touch version THEN take a backup.

If you are doing it from your phone and it is bringing you to our "mobile" site, you will need to click the "full" site link. From there you shouldn't have any issues with downloading the attachment.

You could also try a different browser. Dolphin or naked browser are good.

Nice, seems to be working well, but I can't get it to launch apps. For example, if I say "open app Pandora" or "launch Pandora" it does a google search for the phrase instead of launching the app. Any ideas?

Hmm not sure this is related to this tweak in particular but I get a error when I first use the Google search icon and it force closes
"could not opt you in to lattitude please check your map settings "
Thing is that every thing in location settings in maps is enabled
Any ideas?
