I just updated my ROM to the Shooter Beats for GSM version and it's been running flawless except that I just noticed my messages app won't open at all. It just has the spinning circle. Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to go back to my old stock rom?
I've gone to settings, applications, messaging and went to clear the cache, but it was all greyed out.
Evo 3D GSM
S-Off
Sense 3.5
Not sure what other info you'd need.
If there's anything that I can do that can solve this can you please let me know?
Just you use a newer rom, with sense 3.6

Really? Something that simple?
The hard part is finding a good one haha. I'll try that and report back here.
Yes, newer roms tend to be updated more often, bugs reduced, I believe shooter beats is an older rom. Suggest you can try coolexe, predator 395, or kingcobra's rom. Factory reset, cache & dalvik must be cleaned before you flash any rom.

Ok, thanks, I'll look for one of those. Seems they are all a bit older as the new ones are geared to ICS which I'm not on. (Haven't figured out how to get it yet)
You are rooted, s-off? Recovery? And are you gsm . Then it's very easy to flash

Yes, s-off, 4ext recovery and yes GSM.
I looked for the ones you pointed out, and they are older version of sense.... 3.5 to 3.0 (unless I'm not seeing the right ones)
Here' s coolexe 3.6 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671369
And here's all roms available for gsm evo http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786578 Ok I see you are with rogers, so I suggest you use kingcobras rom as he has used the rogers ota ics as his base for his rom, apn are all provided

Thanks, I didn't think I could load an ICS one on my phone because I'm still on 2.3.5.
I'll download it and give it a try

Ok, they are both downloading now.
Ok, just rebooting after putting on kingcobra, I'll come back tomorrow once all apps are back up and going.
Thanks for the help
Just follow the instructions, I believe you may have to update the firmware (pg86zip) and if you flash kingcobra make sure you pick sense 3.6 on first flash, read instructions, go leafs go

ok, not seeing the notifications in the personalize.. only sounds
And another problem... in titanium backup, I'm trying to restore apps, but my "settings" is missing it says "The linked program is no longer installed on your phone" and I can't restore it because the phone is set to block non market apps. Vicious circle.

Hello!
I recently purchased a EVO 3D from a member here. Little did i know that it was on a custom rom, rooted and all that non-sense. Either way, I got a soft brick and would really just like to get the stock rom on the phone. Could any of you provide me with a x515a rom? Even a nand would do if considerable. Right now i cannot find a original rom accept for one of the devs on this board via PM, which wants money for it.
A developer on this forum should not be charging you money for a rom, you need to report this developer to the mods.

Went back to stock and rooted it, deleted all the Rogers apps via Titanium backup (im in the US so they dont work anyway). I like stock, ive always liked stock roms the most. Less bugs, less issue and in this case, better battery life. Its always been that case for me tho .

OK, here is another question: I being watching some of the PRO's and CON's of ICS for my EVO 3D (youtube videos), maybe is not good idea to upgrade to ICS get rid of the phone, get a new one with the new OS, move to Samsung phone. My Evo 3D is unlocked, s-off, and running hboot 1.4. I know the OTA update for ICS and Sense 3.6 was just released, but I was wondering if there was a version of that update available that would allow me to upgrade without locking my phone or turning s-on? In other words a clean upgrade (preferably something i can flash from my phone) from android version 2.3.4 to 4.X (whatever the OTA update will upgrade me to) and HTC sense from 3.0 to 3.6. I couldn't find anything when I googled it, and the only thing close to what I was looking for here (hopefully I missed it and my answer is somewhere among the threads) required the wire trick, which im not 100% comfortable with.

Sounds like a bad download. The latest version is 3.0 final episode. I used jbear 1.58 hboot for that rom when I had it and it ran great. For you the 1.57 hboot should work fine. Only problem with sense 4 roms is the low volume. Just an FYI.

Oh right I was just reading that. I'll poke around and see what else looks good. Any suggestions for that hboot?

I use 1.50 or lower for jellybean, and gingerbread roms, and for you being VM 1.57 for ICS roms.

You should try the viper 3d if you like sense 4.1. It has an xloud toggle in extended settings that gives audio a big boost.

If you use viper use r284. The most stable and the volumes are all cranked up loud. It does have a ton of customizations.

Make sure you're on hboot 1.58 of you use that release though. That was before the ROM became hboot agnostic.
