Please help a noob - HTC EVO 3D

So I'm kinda a noob, at least for HTC. I have a VM 3D rooted s off. My question is I have tried to install ZR3D rom, but all i can get is a boot loop. my bootloader says juopunitbear 1.57.5757, is this my issue? I was thinking the loop is due to bootloader. I did run factory wipe, and dalvik/cache, installed using 4EXT. Can someone help please?

Yeah. Zr3d you need 1.50 or below. I believe it's a gb ROM.

Yes that is a GB ROM I use 1.04 eng or the 1.40 with those ROMs. If you need any help changing the hboot just pm me and I can walk you through it.

Some, not all. You have to read the OP.

The sense rom I had in mind is Frozen with sense 4.1. I have read and reread OP carefully, but no mention of bootloader version, but I also had problems flashing it. Got a message that zip was corrupt. Is that my issue or the actual download? I tried two dif. versions of that rom and dl'd each twice with same result

Sounds like a bad download. The latest version is 3.0 final episode. I used jbear 1.58 hboot for that rom when I had it and it ran great. For you the 1.57 hboot should work fine. Only problem with sense 4 roms is the low volume. Just an FYI.

Oh right I was just reading that. I'll poke around and see what else looks good. Any suggestions for that hboot?

You should try the viper 3d if you like sense 4.1. It has an xloud toggle in extended settings that gives audio a big boost.

If you use viper use r284. The most stable and the volumes are all cranked up loud. It does have a ton of customizations.

Make sure you're on hboot 1.58 of you use that release though. That was before the ROM became hboot agnostic.

[Q] Eng hboot

Sorry if this has been ask but I'm on the phone and not coming up with much through the search. I've only had this phone for a little more then a day.
I've found this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16198978
But it hasn't been updated in a while and I'm just wondering if that is the only and or the best eng hboot available.
I'm on a CDMA Evo 3D rooted with revolutionary I had hboot 1.30 but after root I now have 1.40 s-off.
I do a lot of flashing and just want to be able to fully use fastboot in case I need it so any help would be great.
Also while I'm posting in here does anyone have any recommendations on radios I'm on the ones that came with the phone 0.97.00.0518 and from looking at the radio thread they seem to be a little old.
TIA for any help or replies.

The ENG hboot in that thread is the one I'd think you want to use. As far as the radios go, I'm not super sure. I'm on the same as you, and haven't upgraded nor seen a need to update at this point. My signal and speeds are great, so I figure just leave well enough alone. If you do decide to update to the latest radios, don't flash just the radio. You need to find an all in one zip by xHausx or freeza to flash all the necessary firmware. There may be even more all in one zip's floating around, but I know those two definitely have one. Good luck.

Is there a rooted (official OTA version) ICS rom for Evo 3d?

My Evo 3D is unlocked, s-off, and running hboot 1.4. I know the OTA update for ICS and Sense 3.6 was just released, but I was wondering if there was a version of that update available that would allow me to upgrade without locking my phone or turning s-on? In other words a clean upgrade (preferably something i can flash from my phone) from android version 2.3.4 to 4.X (whatever the OTA update will upgrade me to) and HTC sense from 3.0 to 3.6. I couldn't find anything when I googled it, and the only thing close to what I was looking for here (hopefully I missed it and my answer is somewhere among the threads) required the wire trick, which im not 100% comfortable with.

You're already S-OFF, which means the wire trick doesn't apply, because the wire trick gives you S-OFF.

[Q]hboot 1.12 need s-off very confused..

hello all I'm kinda stuck... I have hboot 1.12 I would like to gain S-off but I cannot figure out what i need to do. I've been to the unlimited IO site it says it supports hboot 1.12/1.15/1.19 but there's an asterisk further down the page that states (If you have HBOOT 1.12 you must use the DirtyRacun process to upgrade your RUU to gain S-OFF.) what does this mean? and even more confusing is once you get down to step 7 on this page you only have two hboots to choose from. can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you need to upgrade your hboot to 1.15 r 1.19 and then use dirty racoon. I'm pretty sure lazy panda is no longer available

[Q] Flashing AOSP rom/kernel with 3.16 ruu?

I'm trying to flash cm10.1 on my new EVO I just got replaced by asurion. Once the ROM is flashed and I fastboot flash the boot.img, the ROM boots but the touchscreen doesn't work. It seems HTC has updated their drivers and hasn't released the source for their kernels yet. I have done some reading and HTC released the source for their kernel on March 5th. Has this release been applied to any sense-less kernel yet? Is there anything I can do besides wait?
Only other option is to gain soff and downgrade your tp firmware. Cm is working on a new kernel based of the the latest ota, no idea how long it could take
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

do you know when they started working on the new kernel so we can at least wildly guess as to a release time frame?
No point in guessing. I mean nobody knows.
S-OFF is the best option and that new method takes like 4 mins with minimum risk.
