I'm trying to flash cm10.1 on my new EVO I just got replaced by asurion. Once the ROM is flashed and I fastboot flash the boot.img, the ROM boots but the touchscreen doesn't work. It seems HTC has updated their drivers and hasn't released the source for their kernels yet. I have done some reading and HTC released the source for their kernel on March 5th. Has this release been applied to any sense-less kernel yet? Is there anything I can do besides wait?
Only other option is to gain soff and downgrade your tp firmware. Cm is working on a new kernel based of the the latest ota, no idea how long it could take

do you know
do you know when they started working on the new kernel so we can at least wildly guess as to a release time frame?
No point in guessing. I mean nobody knows.
S-OFF is the best option and that new method takes like 4 mins with minimum risk.

uh... dirty racun does not work in windows or 64-bit linux so not really sure how that is a viable option for a 4 min s-off. I think i will stick with s-on or sense roms until a one-click is working or the aosp roms catch up.

Is it true that for Facepalm to work you need to do SuperCID first which will not work on the latest 3.16? I as well would like to run AOSP Roms but have not gotten S-OFF yet as I am not familiar with Linux.

hello all I'm kinda stuck... I have hboot 1.12 I would like to gain S-off but I cannot figure out what i need to do. I've been to the unlimited IO site it says it supports hboot 1.12/1.15/1.19 but there's an asterisk further down the page that states (If you have HBOOT 1.12 you must use the DirtyRacun process to upgrade your RUU to gain S-OFF.) what does this mean? and even more confusing is once you get down to step 7 on this page you only have two hboots to choose from. can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you need to upgrade your hboot to 1.15 r 1.19 and then use dirty racoon. I'm pretty sure lazy panda is no longer available
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I think you have to run one of the newer RUUs, then you can run the racoon.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
How do I do this?
how do I get from hboot 1.12 to hboot 1.15?
I'm no pro, but I downloaded the RUU and renamed it to PJ75IMG and put it on my sdcard, rebooted into bootloader and hit yes when prompted to update.

The dirty racoon process involves relocking and running a RUU. This will prepare your phone for the s-off process. AFAIK just follow the directions and you'll be all set or if you wanna double check ask someone in that thread
I think your good to follow the steps

Yesterday I did the deed, and got S-OFF. I was running a 1.12 hboot after downgrading several months earlier. Had to RUU up to a 1.19 hboot for the Racun to do it's thing. Otherwise it was a quick, and painless operation. If you need help go the #unlimited IRC channel on freenode.net.
If you're already hboot 1.12, lazypanda is a simple executable that needs no more than administrative privileges and 5-10 minutes.

If you are already on 2.09 hboot, I think you have to use the hboot downgrade method to brick your phone and install an earlier hboot which will let you run dirty racun. It is by no means easy, and I don't know if there is still support for that method.

The only way to downgrade your HBOOT on this device IS to brick your phone (if you're S-ON, that is). I think you misunderstood. This device is much more locked down than the OG. "Forget everything you think you know."
But at this point, the downgrade method isn't supported (yet). I already bricked my Jewel trying it (granted, that was after the downgrade was completed successfully, but still).
The team that put together the downgrading tool is still working vigorously on confirming a method that will work reliably with the new HBOOT. Stay tuned.

^^^ This. The OG EVO and this phone are not the same. What worked on one won't necessarily work on the other. Just wait for an S-off exploit for the new Hboot, otherwise you'll end up with an expensive paperweight, like the Captain did:banghead:
