I haven't tested this at all, although benchmark scores seem to show on average a 20-30 percent increase in overall performance in both AnTuTu and Quadrant so I just assumed it was because of the second core.
What tool are you using to check this?
System Panel Lite version 1.1.2
Install system tuner (Google play) it allows you to force 2nd cpu online. Or install setcpu and turn profiles on that will force them both online
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
But, you will probably see a decrease in battery.

After reading it looks like you have to be rooted to use them. 1st, I am not rooted. Completely stock. 2nd, why should we have to be rooted in order to use a feature that Verizon/HTC advertised? IF that is the case then Verizon/HTC falsely advertised the phone. We shouldn't have to "force" the 2nd CPU to work. What was the point of having it installed in the first place then?

I believe the 2nd core stays offline and only comes on during heavy load of the first core. But with root you can force it online and it shares even light loads of work
Htc/verizon didn't lie its just their software is never as good as rooting and flashing a custom rom
Here's my screen shot of same app with second core forced on

Haven't had any sort of lag yet.
Thanks for the info. I guess I need to read up on how to root this phone. I rooted my D1 and Charge but not this one.

2nd CPU is on demand only. It will online when the first is heavily loaded. No need to install anything to make this happen. Dual core support is part of ICS.

The flashable amon-ra zip does all the work of adding superuser. 2 steps, unlock via htcdev then flash amon-ra via bootloader. Done.

Single threaded:

Just curious if anybody has went ahead and applied the V6 supercharger script to P3's pre-rooted GB update and what settings they used if any different from the popular Froyo settings.
Thanks!
I have... Option 9... It works as far as I can tell... Quadrant scores jumped from a 2700 average to 2800+ average...
I think the GB update fixed the memorey issues.
I'm not experiencing any memory issues now, and I've gotten up to 2893 on quadrant and 2723 smart bench. I might give it a shot if I notice any lagging. I was thinking the same thing.
Been running the rooted version nearly 24 hours now, with out super charger. It's just not needed anymore as gingerbread seems to be actually managing the memory correctly. I've only frozen adout 12 things and I'm constantly over 100MB free, 190MB if I kill all processes.

Then why would you think it would cause a boot loop? I've never heard of v6 making any phone bootloop ever.

I set it up with options 8 & 11. I don't know if GB benefits from it or not. But I'm guessing it does over several days.
I had Busybox 1.18.4 and that gave it fits until I replaced it with 1.18.2.

Jude, what apps did you freeze?
I froze a few apps, but the available ram is still pretty much the same as before GB... tried not using V6, but the ram went down to about 60-80 hovering...
so I re did the V6 and got about 130 on avg...
I'm not sure how some people get 100 or so free without using V6...the update did make the phone snappier though...

I have never seen such battery life. What I find weird though is blue tooth was on there previously, and it disappeared. Maybe because the percentage is less than 1%

X2... Is this on an ICS ROM? My computer has Linux kernel 3.2, but GB on our phones is still 2.6..... I ran a couple of those ICS leaks, but never checked kernel version. None of them are stable enough for me, though.
Everything works in CleanRom. I had flashed chad's ICS leak kernel so that I could use no-frills cpu control, but some things got borked. No now I'm back on the one below, which does not support setcpu. Battery life is amazing though. I am going to try and use up my battery today, since I could only get it down to 40% yesterday.

Make sure you show your screen on time next time you post. Your first post did show some good battery life, but I can get the same screenshot with using my stock if I do not use my phone barely at all. These screen shots don't show much. The most important one to show is screen on time.

We have a firmware update from Virgin Mobile. Many users have experienced issues with this, I would recommend not updating. The ADSP.img is what is important for booting the Linux 3 Kernel including with these ROMs, this should be generic between Virgin Mobile and Sprint but DO NOT take my word for it. Chad has a test kernel for those without the new firmware which only breaks 3D and USB Mount/ADB if you want to try it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639471

App is based off of work by xHausx, Art2Fly and coolbho3000. You can set speed, voltage and restore stock with this app. Once applied, it will automatically set the speed available on every boot, no need to do anything manually (except apply it with a 3rd party overclock app). I've tested most options and it is working. Be warned, not all phones will be able to overclock fully (I could OC to 1.9GHz but on 2.0GHz my phone froze). Your phone must be rooted to use this app and have busybox installed. I'm planning on adding more features, this is the first version. Feel free to let me know what works, what doesn't and how it can be improved, thanks. Special thanks to dodgejcr for giving me the idea to even build the app.
Disclaimer: I, the app developer (Dread 7us), will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the use of this app. You, the user, accept all responsibility. You are applying this MOD of your own free will.
This app doesn't apply the overclock value you set, you still need a 3rd party overclock app to do that (like SetCPU, NoFrills, etc).
Features:
Set clock speed
Set voltage manually
Return to stock
Pre-defined clock speeds with custom options available
Overclock value will be select-able after reboots
Instructions:
Open app and accept SU permission
Tap 'Set speed' and select an option to begin (you can't apply until you do)
Custom: enter a value that will be multiplied by 27
That number * 27 will equal the MHz
It will show selected speed once selected
Tap VDD if you need to set a voltage
If the value is within acceptable levels, it will show the value on the main screen
Tap 'Apply' to set, will reboot and automatically apply on every reboot
Use a 3rd party Overclock app to set value (like SetCPU).
Tap 'Remove' to go back stock (will reboot)
Known issues:
If you input a ridiculous value (greater than the max) for VDD, it will FC
That will be fixed soon.

It seems the scores are higher than under the old system and I'm curious if anyone else here has run the new test for comparison. This is my best after about a dozen runs.
And yeah, yeah I know benchmarks aren't everything but I like to have a baseline to go from when making tweaks.
My setup is de-Sensed Ineff Deus, 1836/384 OC, -50 UV on DSB's kernel, ZRam'd, Fsync'd and kernel based MP decision. The test was run on performance governor and SIO.

This may blow your phone up, bring the end of the world, or otherwise devastate your life. I claim zero responsibility as I did not make you flash this on our phone.
Before flashing it is advised to remove all undervolting scripts and anything that modifies the cpu/gpu on boot. This kernel uses dvfs/voltages not currently used in other kernels for this device. Not removing said scripts may very easily result in boot loops.

It has to be the rom they are using. It's working fine for me. It's very odd indeed.
