[Q] Not recognizing USB (charging/when connecting to computer) - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

hi. i was using stock rom with custom kernel. for a change, i thought to try aokp rom build 35. procedure - flashed kernel using fastboot, wipe everything in cwm, flashed zip in cwm, flash gapps.
but now my phone doesnt recognize usb. neither charging nor when connected to computer. i dont have cwm installed in it now. i do have backup but cant access cwm. what should i do?

1 cwm is in the kernel
2 pull down the status bar and click on the notification to activate USB storage
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using xda premium

if u dont have cwm, flash the kernel again..the custom kernel..

If cwm is in the kernel, why dont it show up while i hit the vol down button?
and i see here no notification to activate usb storage.

fastboot only waits for the device. i cant flash the kernel. usb storage is not detected.

What does your boot logo look like?
Sony, aokp?
If it says aokp look for the blue light on the side, they repeatedly tap vol down for cwm

IT IS SONY LOGO

Then you didn't flash a kernel.
Use flashtool fastboot toolbox to reflash kernel
If that fails you haven't unlocked your bootloader

alright. problem is solved now thankx for help.

but still mobile not charging plus not being detected by laptop
PS when i flashed my cell then at that time the battery was arnd 70 % but thn after that it was arnd 10 % when i flashed it for the last time

@Shibab:
Does phone charge while turned off?
Are you using wall charger or trying to charge it on usb?
Try using Sony update service, update/repair your phone software and try again. See if it's charging.
btw. don't know if you played with your phone in between those 2 flashing, but 2 flashing shouldn't take away 60% of (healthy) battery no matter what.

It worked for 4 days and now same thing :|
I installed this GB rom by following each and every instruction http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480273
My cell was charging and everything was fine. But today in the morning as i woke up again the same thing
I again flashed the same kernel Night Elf 10.1 experimental full but nothing till now

If it happens on multiple roms then its not a software issue, its a hardware issue. Especially if you know the cable is working. Take the phone back to the shop.
EDIT
PS, if you cannot charge the phone, how are you managing to turn it on? How long is your battery life?

The hardware is f9
hardware is fine reason my laptop is detecting the cell for flashing and fastboot
i am charging my cell battery through and external charger

totally dead x10a? help me plz

Hello!
I read for hours now, bot no luck
I flashed my x10a with flashtool with generic rom.
After flash, as the flashtool says, just turned off and on the phone.
But nothing happened(green led blink one and do a sort vibration, thats all..)
no logo, no sound nothing happens.
I tried to reflash again, but windows says: Cannot recognize the device
In the control panel device manager show "unknown device".
Because of this , cannot reflash with the tool, because it's waiting for the recognized device too..
when i press the back and connect the cable, the green lighting for a minute , and turns of..
Yes, i have the correct drivers(as you can see i flashed before).
Help me guyz, please, if U can
Does it go into flashmode?
Did you try flashing it regardless of unknown device in windows?
Sent from my X10
Try flashing back to stock non root. It may suck but at least you'll have a starting point. It'll read. Ust make sure you have newest flashtool. Just had the same problem with my x10. Its still havin troubles tho.

Try removing battery, insert usb cable, insert battery while holding back button. I spent 8 hours last night just trying to get back to stock. Your phone is semi bricked. Its a pain in the ass but it eventually works.

Hey go back to stock 1st then try rooting later,
1) launch pc companion
2) select support zone
3) now select phone software update
4) then click on repair phone
Now software will download the stock ROM along with stock kernel..
When the software asks you to connect in flash mode, do the following
1) turn off the phone
2) Remove battery
3) Connect the USB cable to phone as well as to the laptop
4) Place the battery back while holding down the back button (3rd button from the left)
5) Green light should glow and the stock ROM and kernel should be flashed automatically..
When it's done you should have a stock unrooted X10, if you want then flash custom Rom after rooting it, be sure to unlock the boot loader if u want to flash custom kernel... Good luck

3) now after pop up comes to connect phone in flashmode---- remove battery, connect the phone via usb, and lastly pressing back button insert battery simultaneously.
Now the flashing should start hopefully.
if this doesnt work please post the error you get in flashtool

[Q] Xperia Neo V bricked after flashing AOKP build 5 kernel

Hi. I was running Jelly Bean AOKP Rom build 4 on my Xperia Neo V, KXP kernel and yesterday I thought of upgrading the ROM to Build 5. But after flashing the KXP kernel in the AOKP JB Build 5 package my phone got bricked. Now it doesn't power on.There's a slight vibration when I push the power button but then nothing happens. I can't even connect it in Flashmode or Fastboot mode. I can't even go into recovery mode. The phone is completely dead. The phone is not detected by the PC. Please advice me what should I do now. Is there any way to bring it back to normal.
So I don't have this phone.. but does the xperia have an Odin flash mode? Or is it only fastboot?

Hi mate !
Your phone is not dead, I had the same problem with build5 kernel, and went back to build4 with my nandroid backup.
Take out the battery of the phone, put it again and then you should be able to enter fastboot mode.
Flash build4 kernel, is stable, and stick to build4 until build5 is fixed or another build comes out.
Hope it helps
How can I go into CWM recovery. The phone is not Switching on even after Reinserting the battery
succesfully managed to flash the build 4 kernel. The phone's been drained out and is charging now. Do I need to reinstall the ROm again or wont it be necessary.

Dude, i have the some problem.
Please tell me how you got into the fastboot mode.
I took off the battery, put it again and then tried tu turn on the phone without the usb connected, it vibrated but nothing.
Also tried to turn on with the usb cable connected, same thing.
U have to unlock Bootloader to get fastboot mode...either official way or unofficial way...

As soon as you took out your battery, you need to enter into fastboot mode.
I mean as soon as you have inserted your battery, press menu button and connect right away.
I also faced this prob for my neo too. You can also flash .ftf to your phone as soon as you have inserted your battery.
Same issue happened to my Xperia go. Cant enter CWM, fastboot, flash mode, or even power on the device. Cant charge also (i think). When plugging the charger either from wall charger or USB to pc, it just stays in red led then dies out again.
Take note: I cant reset, hard reset, or even power on the device.
What happened is that I flashed the wrong kernel on CWM. After the phone rebooted, it stayed on black screen. Cant turn it off. Until i guess the battery drained out. Now the above situation is happening.
Please help! Is it a choice to open up the phone and reconnect the embedded battery?
I prefer not to do so, if there is an option to fix it. The phone can't charge. Is there a way to force charge the phone without a working kernel?
Thanks in advance!
What's your issue??
Remove the battery and go in flashmode !
Flash stock fw ftf file via flashtool!
Voila, you have your phone back alive!

Im thinking of following ur suggestion, however is it OK to open up my XGO coz the battery is embedded.
If it is, a simple guide is appreciated? Last question, without the battery on, and usb plugged in, can I try to enter fastboo or flash mode? Without the battery on?

Oh...So your phone is xperia Go...
What kernel you have flash?I hope you didnt flash kernel for xperia Neo...if you do that,it might hard brick your phone....
Sorry for posting on this X-Neo section, but this is the only section that came near to my problem. I posted in XGO section and awaiting answers.
This is the first I got. Oh sorry, its not a kernel. I was updating CWM 5 to CWM touch 6 version. Did this in recovery. A flashable version of cwm.
I entered recovery, install from SD, the install completed, Then what I mentioned in my previous post happened. Not booting up. No vibration, no hard reset, no fastboot, no flashmode. Just the red led when plugged in to PC or wall socket.
I hope you can help me sort this one out
neo v
we have same situation, i tried the instructions above but it doesnt work in my fone.

This means that you deleted the whole system because it happened to me before. Download the stock ROM of your mobile and follow these steps:
1. Open Flashtool and press on FLASH (the one with the lightning).
2. Choose Flashmode.
3. Select the ROM and press on ok. If you get ERROR, try to clean up some memory on your disk.
4. keep holding the -volume button.
5. Plug your mobile on to the computer quickly before it boots up.
6. After flashing is DONE, Unplug your mobile from the computer and turn it on. It may take 2 minutes or more to boot up, so don't worry.
7. Your mobile now is stock as new, so it is not rooted and the bootloader is also locked i think.

It won't boot up. Just hold volume down and plug it in. Don't hold power, just volume - and plug the usb in
Use sony update service instead of pc campainion for updating

its ok bro..
i decided to install serenity v3 custom rom in my rooted sony lww and also to flash a serene 'coconut' kernel
i found it in this website xda i flashed that kernel but i got a error on flashtool while flashing its says 'failed'
after that when i restart my lww it doesn't restart. when i pressing the phone on/off button its just vibrate likes its switching on
but not starting its just have a blank black screen.
and during trying all these things my phone battery got empty and my phone also not charging through usb cable or through
charging plug. now i trying to start my phone when i pressing the on/off button red LED light is blinking which means battery completely
empty.....
i flashed the custom kernel through fastboot mode.
i connected the phone on fastboot mode to pc after that open flashtool selected fastboot mode after that
select the kernel i.e. boot image than flashtool works some lines after it shows 'failed'
What i do now..?? i stuck on empty battery and a phone which is not starting.
plz help me...
this is the link from where i downloaded custom rom and kernel........--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1936672
thx in advance....
Firstly try charging your battery using some other phone or some chargers where u can just insert battery(doesn't cost much) and then keep the battery for 15 sec(without connecting to charger or mobile)...now let's start from beginning....re-insert your battery and connect ur phone in flashmode and flash stock firmware...after that turn USB debugging, msc mode and unknown sources(just to be on safe side) then reflash the kernel using fastboot, hold vol up and connect to pc(obviously u might be on unlocked bl to do all this...) and then flash the ROM(u might have placed in ur sdcard) with correct wipes and boot it....
Just an advice: after u install the Rom go to launcher, then clear data and force stop, then remove the battery for 30 sec and then reboot it twice....

i flashed .62 firmware to my lww after charging its battery now my phone is new.
now i have to root it again so i have to downgrade it to .58 firmware.
can u tell after rooting it on .58 firmware can i install a ICS custom rom and kernel to my Sony lww
if yes can u tell me some good stable and high performance ICS custom roms and compatible kernels for them.
plz..
thx
Sorry I can't tell u about best rom/kernel but if u have unlocked bootloader u don't need to root it again.....Simply download any pre rooted ics kernel and then flash ti and flash any custom rom based on that kernel...

i charged it for so long (about 2 hours)that the led turned off but i still couldn't flash it
You prepare the file for flashing ffirst before connecting your phone in flashmode. Also use a wall charger not the USB.

i try it but nothing happens. i think i have to leave my battery unplugging until it dies then charge it and try again
Yes same thing happened with me but the cause was different.
You need to charge your phone using the wall charger as explained above.
Use flashtool and hopefully you have a tft for your jb firmware. Once you're charged, shutdown your Xperia using same keys but keep them pressed for like 10 secs to be sure it has shut down.
Then connect your phone to Pc in proper flash mode and use flashtool for flashing.

Xperia U-not turning on, red LED stay 1 second only

Hi guys,
I am currently trying to repair my friend's ST25i Xperia U, he encountered random crash and the phone won't turn on. I have tried to charge the phone but no reaction from the phone itself. if I pressed the lock button it only turn on the red LED for a second and nothing happens. I think I am having a problem with the kernel that it won't let the battery charged.
I am familiar with flash tool, when I tried to flash the device will not get into either fast boot or flash mode. IF i connect the phone to PC via USB(holding down up/down for either fastboot or flashmode), it only turn the red LED for a second.
anyone can help? I am currently trying to only charge the battery via universal battery charger, hoping that it is charged and can enter fast boot or flash mode so i can flash the device.
my friend said that it was running android 2.3.6, having a problem and sent to repair center upgraded into 2.3.7, then this random crash happened. I want to flash it to ICS by the way. I had the stock rom ready to flash.
Is there any flashing method that does not require a battery?
sorry for the long post, I hope you guys can help me with flashing

Try installing the latest version of flashtool and install drivers for xperia u manually
Load the stock ics ftf in flashtool.
when it asks to connect the cable
HOLD volume down key and connect
and then flash rom.

there is no way you can flash the phone without battery and the is the led flashing 3 times when you press the power button?
the problem is with the kernal and it is not charging the phone in offline mode and the only way is to use the Universal charger or flash the phone by using any other battery from a similar phone report after you do it

well the universal chraging method did not work, and no one uses xperia U here. hard to find a battery. can you confirm if using battery from similar phone will work?
regarding the led--it only flashes once, and red. this happens when it is plugged into pc/charger.

Remove the battery out of the device and leave it for an hour without the battery and after that press and hold the power button for 60seconds (without the battery) after that insert the battery and try to enter flash mode "have the FLASHTOOL ready to flash a rom"
IF it doesn't work
Just as a last try you can TRY REPAIR using Sony Update Service(SUS) and if it doesn't work either you have to report the service center... they will help you and if it is still under warrenty you can get it done for free too...
battery drained
have you done anything that couldve drained the battery fully ? if so the solution is to continuously charge it ... it might take upto 16 hours or more happened to mine now fixed
did it woks ? after charging your mobile for 16 hours ?
