Real quick question.. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So if I'm using flappjaxxx rom and I use the apex launcher am I not getting the full use of the s-pen ? Like would it make a difference if I used touchwiz instead? I haven't noticed anything not working but I'm no expert and just trying to understand it all a bit more...thank you in advance for any replies!

Yes touchwhiz is the main program that runs the s Pen i do believe

Doesn't matter what launcher you use.
When people say you need touch wiz for fully functioning s-pen, they mean the overlay built into the system by Samsung.
Since flapp has 2 roms... aospxXx which does not have any touch wiz at all. So, no gesture/button functions in the pen. And the touch wiz launcher will not work on any aosp Rom.
His stock base build has touch wiz, it's stock based, but as i said the launcher doesn't matter, as long as the Rom itself is touch wiz firmware you're good to go

Jelly Bean Launchers

Hey I was wondering what launchers you guys used on jelly bean ROMs like cm10 and AOKP. I tried apex and nova but they seem slower than they did on ICS. Home screen scrolling is not as smooth.
I agree on apex not feeling smooth on JB. The stock trebuchet is smoother but lacks customization that others off. I just tried nova and it seems pretty smooth. More so than apex. I'm on PA CM10

I like Apex alot but as soon as I load up 3 screens with icon/apps the pinch gesture which displays the overview of all screens is very laggy. I've tried it on numerous JB versions.
I understand a bunch of people on this forum don't like Go Launcher but, for myself, the latest versions have been the smoothest of any of the launchers I've tried on JB .
I'm a big Apex fan, but it does lag a little in the drawer on JB. That said, the CM10 official Nightly has the best performance of all I've tried (PA, AOKP, and CM10 unofficial).
I've giving Nova a try right now, and so far, without hiding any apps in the drawer, there's like 4 pages and it's pretty quick and smooth. I will have to re-setup everything just like in Apex for it to work for me, but so far so good.
Until someone gets a composer that actually works correctly, UI elements will feel slow on JB. Thats why we have screen flickers and have to eff around with build.prop changes and other voodoo to "fix" this.
Until the HWcomposer gets a fix, it will simply not be as fast as a JB native phone.

Samsung Apps with S-pen functions

Does anyone know when there going to incorporate the Samsung apps into the JB builds? Like the Smemo and its S-pen functions (ex//double tap on screen to open note) or will there be an alternative with the S-pen functions created?
Try Paranoid Android ROM...it has S-Pen functions...

CM 10 Problems..
Anyone know of plans to incorporate S Pen apps/features into CM 10? I'm loving this ROM except for that.... I used S Memo all the time when I was stock... :crying:
The original S-Memo functions work only in TouchWiz. You can try some ICS TouchWiz-based rom like Padawan, Nebula (I tried both and they work), Black Ice and other stock/UCLF6 based roms.
Some JB roms have incorporated pen gestures, but it is not the same experience. And this is the reason that I decided to move away from JB roms for now.
Try out Blackstar X and you may not want JB.
With 2 versions of voice search and new Android keyboard with gestures. Ran a few days, ZERO hiccups. Mighty fine indeed.

That's what I hear all of the time is to go back to ICS with tw but I really would like job with tw which is the reasoning for this thread. Although black star is a great ROM, ran it for a day or 2, job is a lot better because its just so buttery smooth hahaha and s memo and that butter smoothness with the other tw features will be awesome. Its just no one has ported any for some reason. You would think someone would convert an international ROM or a galaxy s3 one..

At the moment, there is no TW based JB rom.
It won't happen until an official JB rom is released.
There are many, many people wanting TW on JB, including me. It has been asked before by many and the answer is no. Either go back to ICS with TW or live with JB as it is.

Is there a ROM like this....

When I had my S2 there was a ROM that was built on Touchwiz but had stock features and apps integrated - such as messages, calendar, launcher...and all obvious Touchwiz features removed. This is the best of both worlds for me.
Is there a simple stockified Touchwiz based ROM for the S3, or is there a reason that this isn't possible?
There is such a dizzying array of ROMs on here that it's hard to know where to start looking for such a thing!
Thanks guys.
I run UltimaROM, It' based on on stock JB but themed like the AOSP one. Also it has Aroma installer and you can customize allmost everything you can imagine!

You can try Anroid Revolution HD

I would also suggest UltimaRom. You can install whatever you like with the help on AROMA.
I have removed touchwiz from my s3 and removed many default applications . Now my phone is faster than ever. It's completely customised and I love it.

4.2 jellybean rom with touchwiz features

Ok guys, so this is my situation.
I decided to go with the s3 instead of the nexus as I was happy to run a custom ROM and get the hardware benefits of the s3.
Brilliant device, my problem is though that I love my 10.1 cm experience but really miss some of the little features of touchwiz.
Does anyone know of a ROM that has the sexy 4.2 jb vanilla feel but with some sneaky touchwiz features under it. Alternatively are there any mods or apps i could use to get the same effects?
Thanks a lot guys and look forward to seeing your thoughts and suggestions.

What features of touchwiz do you want ?

I really fancy having some of the gesture features like tap to top, they are pretty handy. I would also like the ability to use multi window if possible.

Jelly beans brother touchwiz and cousins kies

I'm trying to find a way to get that touchwiz stability, with the aosp look. Do any of the custom launchers have the touchwiz scroll option? I am on beans 7.
Ultimately I want the touchwiz stability and scroll effect, with the features of beans. Like the call block option.
Lastly does anyone know of a way to get kies working? Since its blocked with the note 2

Use touch wiz. Lol or try adw ex. They have a decent transition that looks like touch wiz to me. I use Tsf shell now. Pricey but it's awesome.
