Hi guys,
I tried to search, but couldn't find any answers.
I know that somebody made a safe to remove list to the Xperia arc, is there made a list to Xperia s?
I removed all the basics apps, just want to make sure, if there some things that can be removed.
Thanks in advance

You can remove apps, but not needed things like Android System
Sent with my Sony Xperia S using a little bit of KA magic.
Put the list here and I will tell you which one is safe to remove.

I also removed things like Timescape, ANT radio service, Neo reader... and all its services if I found any (I used Titanium Backup for doing this).
By the way... I'm not sure I should have done this.
I don't really know if removing bloatware can affect a future firmware upgrade process. I assume it won't cause errors when full flashing via computer, but what about OTA updating? If the phone only downloads a delta update package, it may give errors if some components are missing.
Need help on removing Bloatware GB 6.0.A.3.76TW

Heres a list of all the bloatwares which came with the 6.0.a.3.76TW firmware. I took screenshots of the apps (Astro File Manager) which were in the system folder. Hiden apps are also in the screenshot. I have already unlocked and rooted my GB firmware but just don know which bloatwares i should get rid off/Uninstall as i dont know of each's functionality and also dont want to harm my STOCK ROM in the process. Hope u can help me with it =). Btw, i dont think that am gonna need PCC or SEUS sync apps as am more comfortable in flashing roms with flashtool (Froze MtApp by TitaniumPro). Btw, the new Xperia S does get lock if you root the phone as u can only access the phone but not the internal memory if Sony finds it out. Though thanks to DoomLord/Napster for their amazing app to Mount/Unmount my internal memory card manually. Please do realize that am gona need that particular app to work with =p. U can add me up or pm me if you want to discuss about the bloatwares. Will surely love to discuss it =). It would be a great help if you could help me out on this one.
Thanks.

Need a lot more detail... F/W version for one, after how long, what have you added, etc.
I have 2.3.4
And have normal bunch of applications and also advanced task killer and app2sd.

Not sure why you feel the need for a Task Killer. Android takes care of itself. Suggest you ditch that immediately.
I would also strongly suggest you re-update your phone but do a full factory reset FIRST.
Don't allow Google to reinstall your apps automatically.

My Neo also became slow after a month or so.
I think this is caued by a lot of apps, and also a lot of apps that startup and stay with the phone.
Solutions are to delete some apps, and to root your phone (which is very easy).
After rooting, you can delete bloatware (pre-installed apps you don't use and can't remove, like the Facebook app) and move your self-installed apps to another part of the phone memory, which let's them load faster.
Will the bootloader remain open forever?
What is the use of it?
I don't want to install any custom Rom at the moment.
Till which step should I go for opening the Rom?
Explain please it's confusing.

You need to spend some time looking around this site and gaining an understanding. Also, why don't you get to know your phone and Android a lttle before you start trying other things. And stop trying to run before you can walk.

I have ICX kernel installed and KA03 Xperia SSpeed ROM installed.
Now, in tasker after assigning tasks to a profile they do not occur... In the notifications it show that the profile is running but the tasks do not occur.... Even simple tasks like vibrate or pop up or switch off data do not work!!!
It would be great if somebody could really help me.
Thanks in advance
PS: I have tried to reinstall ROM but still it does not work... Other apps like watchdog or titanium backup pro or Juicedefender work perfectly
Come on somebody??? Anything??
I think you can post this in the original topic..

Hi!
I saw some videos on YouTube showing that in ICS we can easily disable system apps WITHOUT ROOT. Is that true? Can you do that with your Xperia S? I want to know this because once my Xperia U gets ICS, I'll be able to disable the apps I don't need without root.
Thanks.
Yes.

Oh that will be awesome once ics is out for the XU
I confirm, it's true but doesn't work for all system apps ("only" for 80-90% of them). The ones that are critical (xperia home, keyboard, settings etc.) have the "disable" button grayed out. Still a great feature IMHO.

I hope our Xperia receive the new apps soon, look great, meanwhile we only can see the videos:
Smart connect:

Media apps:

I'm glad someone else noticed this too! Yes I'm very excited too!
Plus, if it doesn't sound to trivial, I noticed the apps on the new phones at IFA that they have really bright, beautiful designs, colourful...I like Sony style but more colour please! Less black! And these new apps have LOTS of colour :victory:
I think we just need to wait for a system dump.
What I really want its the mini apps. That looks awesome. Hope the notes apps has support for it.

Maybe I am on the wrong path, but this apps are included in ICS-Update for 2012 line, aren't they!? Because I have them on my phone!
no those are newer than what we have now.. and how i know sony they wont even implement them in jb.
duh ah !!!! smart connect is just like LiveWire Manager just an upgrade lol

Im having a bad feeling that, they won't provide those in nxt's... Coz xperia t is coming With ICS.. With those apps,
and we already got ICS without those apps... So LAZY Sony is going to make another ICS with those apps in NXT?...nah
And we should not worry about JB!
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
But they could easily add those apps in a minor ICS update, no?
P.s. did anyone else read on this site: http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/09/0...ng-to-o2-uk-owners-of-the-xperia-arc-neo-ray/
that O2 in the United Kingdom refused some Sony ICS upgrades because they severly affected the phones' performance? Hmm
Sony says those new apps are coming to all 2012 devices:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/09/05/2011-xperia-range-will-not-get-new-sony-media-apps/
I just upgraded LiveWire Manager to Smart Connect
Just updated as well
Now I can have my 2 smart tags do multiple actions depending on time

Hi everyone i was just wondering if anybody could say 100% that this FW is official as i have noticed a few things that point in the direction that this is actually a fake.
The FW i am talking about can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918920
I have noticed the launcher is the arc launcher from the play store? is that official sony?
It is like my phone has a mind of its own now as it turns off and on by itself now.
I also have to keep resetting the phone as it doesnt register a sim card in the phone.
And it lags so much it feels unusable.
It feels like a £50 budget android phone now.
And also the France dont even have this update yet.
Please could someone clarify if this is fake or not with some proof.
Thanks.
Yes. It's official.
Sent from my ST25a using xda premium
How can u prove this and why is my launcher from the play store?
Im sorry but I think this is a fake as Sony would not release a fw that is worse then GB.
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
It's real. Installed it on my girlfriend's Xperia U. Works like a charm. Plus all ICS specific features are present. How would you fake that?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Well I have a theory, I have not spoken to them, but does anyone in the world has received the update for the PC Companion? From what I've read on XDA to date. Neither the French nor the ST25a have been received there.
I think Sony has released as the "probatinas" and has "cast" on the net for people to download them and post your impressions (They are also aware of this) and receive the official firmware in the coming days.
Of course, if someone had received by the PC Companion, my theory would absolutely break down
Made with the help of Google translator, my apologies if something is wrong.
If you do not understand something ask me.
Regards.
So you are saying that we have a super-duper-developer that has made all by himself an ICS rom for the Xperia U and remained silent???? Because now we have ICS for U, and if it was not Sony that did it, then who did? Not even Freexperia has done it so far...
Do you know Sony Mobile web site?
Well, maybe this can change your mind:
http://www.sonymobile.com/us/software/phones/xperia-u/
PS: You can switch to whatever country you like on top-right of the page, and it will tell you the same version and date.
It's official..
You can find the rollout SI numbers on the sony xperia forums and sony allready said...
At least here in Brazil, the update officially arrives in December according to sony.
And it is not the arc play store launcher, just chrcked the file
