It does say that he doesn't like WidgetLocker
I'd prefer AOSP lockscreen as well if anyone figures out how to get that.

The Criskelo ROM has the AOSP Lockscreen in it and it was created by JKAY (Much love to him/her for this). It is enabled via app in the ROM.
JKAY also has a post in the Themes and Apps section regarding this lockscreen for other ROMS as well. Just search the Development and the Themes areas for these and you will find them.

Just flash Criskelo or CyanogenMod ROM. They are the best i9100 ROM's.
Widget Locker is a peace of crap! It has so many bugs and glitches on i9100. It is also non-free and too expensive.
you can also install revolution rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171523 and use Kitchen app to install JKay's ASOP lock screen
Sometimes you just can't get what you want...
Unfortunately the lockscreen on android is pretty well integrated with the rom you're running. Either you replace it with something like WidgetLocker, which basically disables the stock lockscreen, and replaces it with its own. Or you need to install a rom with the stock android lockscreen built in.
It's either that, or find the exact rom you're using, and get a dev to some how patch in the stock lockscreen to that rom. You'd still then need to root your phone to apply the patch. It's a lot of work just to add a lockscreen to a crappy stock rom though.

If I'm not mistaken... I believe that the JKAY mod in the themes and apps thread is for stock roms / non-deodexed.

The Oxygen ROM comes with AOSP lock screen too... It's an AOSP ROM...
I seriously dislike the TouchWiz UI. It's very boring and dull, I love the way stock Android looks with its dark and light blue theme, very minimalistic and intuitive and I hate the way TouchWiz is just black grey and a mixture of other colors. I'm using NovaLuancher but it only changes the home screen, I'm looking for stock android settings menu and notification/status bar. Is there a solution to this yet? Putting stock ICS on the Galaxy S3? Or are there any launchers or skins that make the settings menu and notifications look like stock ICS?
No one? I'd also like to know.

Check themes and apps section.. If you can't find any themes, then no.. Just hang on... There will be 100 theme releases soon where all is "aosp" and every rom is AOSP themed. Cm9 and aokp will sure also find its way some day

Forgive my ignorance but I've been a iOS user since the first iPhone and I just switched to ICS because I was sick of the iPhone. What is AOSP? I know what CM9 is, what would you recommend me to install on my phone?
AOSP stands for "Android Open Soruce Poject" it is basally the barebone android OS made by Google for all to see. Many roms are based off of it, as the code is release soon after googles flagship nexus devices.
I like aosp too but dont yiu guys think it makes the phone look cheap? I find touchwiz icons classy..
I would suggest waiting a month or so after your carrier gets it to put a custom ROM on it. By then a lot of bugs well have been worked out and there will be some great tutorials available.

no, because you can customize it to your liking. there are thousands of options.
to the op download a launcher and it might imprve your experience.
I doubt CM9 or other stock ICS ROMs will have features like smart stay or s voice...if they do include them, that would be awesome!

I think the TouchWiz 5 UI is quite nice, MUCH better than the 4.0 on my SGSII, however, I use Nova launcher because S launcher is driving me crazy
Nevertheless, AOSP is still much better, and as the SGSIII is a hugely successful and famous device, so it won't take long for the first AOSP roms to spread from the ground Just have a look at the SGSII

Hey everyone, need some advice. I hate touchwiz and all the carrier crap so I ALWAYS use AOSP ROMs. I love AOKP and it is working perfectly on my ATT SGS3, but since it is stock android based I don't have any of the features that were part of the reason I wanted this phone. Namely, svoice and the sharing stuff. What rom would you recommend? I use nova launcher so I guess that could help me with the touchwiz crap, but just want some feedback. Thanks everyone.

At this point, your best bet would be to selectively disable any apps you don't like. You can do it through Settings > Applications. If you don't like the launcher, there are plenty of replacements around. The default one for CM9 is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410674

I would go with aokp. I also liked some touchwizz features such as smart stay and the palm swiping. Aokp just is so much more customizable than stock and for me it runs super smooth. It's a trade off but I would go with aokp.

Hello all! I am currently running CMX with a TouchWiz 5 theme. I installed the TouchWiz Launcher port along with a few different zips I have found across xda. My phone has most TW widgets, sounds and stock apps. I feel a lot of people would love to run this ROM. I have no idea how but is there a way for me to generate a zip of my setup so that others could enjoy it?

You can use this to make an update zip. Just put the apks in their respective places. The theme would probably be in data and the launcher in system.
The only issue I see is if this is the TouchWiz 5 theme you speak of it can't be included because it's a paid app.
Like the setup, i have been looking for something like this a little while.

I wrote a couple of devs seeking help. I am a full time student and I work full time as well. I thought about releasing a HOW to guide. I have not given up.
Pimp my ROM seems to have the full tw launcher and some widgets. Cannot confirm if all are there. You can then get a tw theme from market and you should be set. I am on decks 10-10 build (4.1.2) and the theme is not working but launcher is

This is essentially a themed out version of the stock verizon 2.33 OS.
I themed this out to be Xperia S styled (Because Verizon took out all of the Xperia framework and gave us stock gingerbread.. not to mention we're always left out of the Xperia S themed roms)
I want to give credit where it's due. I stripped the framework files from R800x UK Rom... I also used the lockscreen and toggles rom XDA member ATTAK's Xperia S theme
I added some unique elements of my own like the lock screen wall paper (playstation themed), as well as some of the other framework files.
I'm uploading a nandroid file now... This way, whether the bootloader is locked or unlocked, you will be able to install and enjoy this rom.
Bravia Mod is included..
Stock Bloatware Removed..
Etc. Etc...
Can you recommend a custom kernel to use with this rom? One of doomlords, I'm sure, but I don't know which one.
Once you do, I'll be switching to this. I'm tired of how slow CM9 has become, and I'm tired of slow performance in gaming and touchpads that only work 50% of the time.

What other modifications? You said it was based on the UK Rom. Is Facebook sync included? What about auto brightness? Is it disabled?

You guys need to give me a break. I just lost my boyfriend in a car accident.. I do have a job, I don't have family I live by myself.. this is something fun I like to do on the side. I do know how much it sucks to have an r800x, that's why I'm trying to make it better. The rom's coming.. I will apologize.. I thought I had it how I wanted it.. but I don't.. And I don't want to release work that isn't how I want it... Perhaps a moderator move this to the general section until I'm finished??
