I am running the LG8 stock firmware (rooted).
For some reason, if I install any application which runs a background service (PowerAmp, GSRemote) or which interacts with the lockscreen (WidgetLocker), the phone will freeze the moment I lock it and display a dim lockscreen unresponsive to touch input.
The only solution is to remove the battery and reboot, but it will happen again every time the phone is locked until the culprit applications are uninstalled.
Any suggestions?
Thanks! :3

Sorry for the old thread bump, but I'm having the same problem but on my LG 2X, I think it's caused by Poweramp and it's really a shame because I find that lockscreen very useful.

I hate the factory lock screen, and I was locking for a replacement.
I try'd Live Locker, and I like it very much. But I found out it drains the battery a little, so I'm searching for a good replacement.
I also see that WidgetLocker is good, but for what I read in this forum, it as some problems with SGS2.
Any sugestions are verry apreciated.
Thanks.
I've been using WidgetLocker for some time, and since I have root and use the root option of the App, I must say, for some weird reasons it runs much better
Before I had root, I had some problems with my battery, it was draining like hell, now not anymore.
Thanks for the replay, I think I'm going to test it, since I also have root.
Widget Locker will also drain more battery than normal. I think any third party lock screen will do more or less same.

Eh? I have widget locker and the extra battery use is minimal.

Well, then maybe I have to use the default lock pattern.
It's not nice looking but works.
Widget locker is a peace of crap. Home Button works awful with it. I need to wait 3-4 seconds, before button react on my press. I hope in CyanogenMod will be normal lockscreen option, like on CyanogenMod at Samsung i9000.
Is there a way to get the Nexus One off screen animation like that of a CRT television?

I use Goto Lockscreen
It's a little less flexible than widgetlocker, but I think it looks better.
Hi all, i've a problem with my new galaxy S2...when i lock the screen, the phone auto-reactivate that 2 or 3 times automatically, and then return to locked-state with black screen...i have ADW launcher, no app for cutom lockscreen, i tryes go luancher but the problem is still here...how can i fix it?
Thank!!!
disable ADW launcher and check if the problem still persist..
there could be a background task that have a permission to wake the phone once it activates or receives something (like messages app)

Display problem
Did you able to fix the problem? Because I'm facing the exact same problem and waiting clueless.
Evn I am facing the same prob.
It usually happens after a restart...
The phone screen keeps turning on and off..
What I do is clear the ram frist, and then kill all the running tasks using ATK..
Then it becomes finee then...
You may try it urself...

I couldn't get rid of that problem until I flash a different rom.
I have the same problem after updating to ICS. The screen just randomly comes on and off several times while screen is locked

My response to a similar issue with another user:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759927
Maybe a process or task is scheduled to run when the screen is turned off manually?

Is this the same on others devices .. when I unlock my screen the widgets and apps sometimes need a second time appear
The weather clock. Alarm widget. Google search etc all disappear as if they are not loaded .. is this a feature to save power or a design flaw ??
Sent from my GT-I9300
I've noticed that too. Like it has to load everything up again. Annoying.

Same here with Nova launncher.
This is where I envy IOS
Here comes the whaaambulance!!!
Seriously though. I think its designed to do that. Not so much the part where they take a second to load, but to save power maybe by using less ram? I dunno.

Ah yeah sounds right to save ram it's not bothering me as such just used to HTC
Another thing anyway to delay the screen lock when I'm using the phone ... I don't want to have to change the screen lock each time from none to pattern lol

The worst part is, if I wake up phone from deep sleep them the animation on the lock screen lags.
And even the main screen would lag for few seconds before it becomes super snappy.
This wake up lag and screen refresh is very embarrassing.
My gf's I Phone never does that and she teases me a lot because of this.
I have to sollow my pride :screwy::screwy::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

Pretty simple question here, I recently installed the three UK JB update on my unbranded phone (got confused and wasn't concentrating, but anyway...) anniversary noticed that when the screen dims and turns off, if I press the home key to turn it back on in the short space of time that you get before it auto locks, then not only does the screen turn back on but it also backs out of the app I was reading. Is anyone else experiencing this? I never had this issue on ICS.
I am using smart stay, but this happens at times like when I'm reading in the dark or have the phone on my desk without my head directly over it.
Cheers in advance!
Sam

Yep, it's a Samsung bug that I guess they haven't fixed yet...
CyanogenMOD fixed the bug back when CM10 wasn't even usable on our devices
It's already fixed in the XXDLJ4 release.

I flashed about a week ago the official JB Update and the Bug was gone - till yesterday -.-
Now the Bug is back and i really don't know why. Is there any working solution? (execpt to reflash everything)
As far as I can see the bug depends on the lockscreen type and appears only, if you activated pattern locking and you have a relock delay.
still have it here, no special lock screen set up, just swipe to unlock

If you set SVoice to launch on home double press it should solve the issue of it backgrounding the app.
Yes this problem seems to appear when S-Voice is turned off. Which sucks cause I'd rather have google voice search.
I freeze Svoice in Titamium backup. And I have a problems with home button as some decribes in posts.
I was looking around for solution and I am happy that i finaly find answer here.
Many thanks for help with this S-Voice app
Samsung SVoice also introduces a delay to home button.
I use UX 4.0 Home and app draw launcher, mainly because I like being able to slim down the app draw by hiding apps. However since my phone came back from LG having the GPS fixed I have a problem with it. It shows the notification count in the app draw for Facebook, that I can't clear, managed once before by changing the Launcher and going back to it but even that isn't working now.
This might not sound like the worst problem bit when it does that, it doesn't go into deep sleep, looking at CPU Spy, no deep sleep but lots of time at 307MHz.
I have cleared the cache and force stopped it to no avail. I ended up disabling it then reinstall it, then restart the phone for it to appear in the launcher again.
Does anyone know of a better way of clearing it please?

It appears I was wrong, I've changed my launcher to Action 3 and still got wake locks. I am not rooted, are there any good wake lock detection methods they I can use on an none rooted phone please?
