MeanROM ICS 2.6 - Device Rooted Pop-Up - HTC EVO 3D

Initially I thought it was SuperSU that was causing an annoying pop-up every 5 minutes on my phone telling me "Device is Rooted - Superuser app will be used when using trigger method." But now I'm thinking it could be the ROM itself? I've disabled and force stopped SuperSU (since I can't uninstall it!?) but it still pops up. It's super annoying and I don't know where else to turn. Sorry...

That's probably your problem. SuperSU needs to be running with a rooted phone. You shouldn't be force closing apps anyway.
Also, I would suggest you post or at least search for this in the rom's thread.

Thank you for you help. I actually just tried the disabling and force stopping this morning after dealing with the pop ups the past couple of days.
I did search the forum, and I even searched google. I seem to be the only person with this issue... =\

You could try a different app. Download Superuser from the play store. Run it and give it super user permissions, update the su binary. This will make it the su app so you can remove Super Su.

Im having some problems with the market as well. I can access it etc but after i start a download after about 30 seconds i get a notification saying the download was unsuccessful. Googled about and some where it said that it can be due to google talk, Sign out then sign back in then try to download an app, But this failed to work for me though it may work for you. I thought google was maybe starting to block the older version of the market for some reason hence the original question lol.
I must have just got mine this evening. I JUST looked at my market and there it was looking all sexy!
Applications - Manage Applications - Market - Uninstall Updates. Then I opened Marked and closed it, whithin 1-2 minutes is was updated

I have Market 2.2.11 installed from zip file, but doesn't want to work, i mean it say "your application will be downloaded" , after that a short sign of downloading appears and disappear. No error message, no nothing. The application is not downloaded and not installed. I've tried your method but not luck. Any idea what can i do to make Market working?
Thanks.

[CM7][FIX]Market Showing "My Apps"

Hi everyone,
**Edit: 2/24 One of our great members here have found a temporary fix for the "My Apps" issue. I can confirm that it works. Rebooted three times and "My Apps" still shows. And also can confirm that it is not auto-updating on me. I'm running CM7 v3 dual boot with patched framework.**
**Edit: 2/24 Jumped the gun. It survives reboot but I just got an auto update on this. Now "My Apps" isn't showing anything again. Going back to my other vending.apk for the time being. This apk is also FC'ing on some people. Try out the patched framework from my other thread and see if that helps. If not, just use my other vending.apk for the time being until a fix is resolved.**
Credit goes "scuccia" for the patched Vending.apk:
"You may be able to prevent Vending.apk from updating if you resign the apk with test keys then push it back to /system/app."
Thanks again.
After install go into Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications-->All-->Market-->Uninstall Updates.
APK attached. Try it out and see if it works for you as well. If you plan on pushing it to /system/app make sure to rename the file to Vending.apk
I just installed it as I would any other app and it works for me.
Thanks,
Racks
Trying it now will report back
Doesn't seem to work for me on V3
Not working for me on v5.
I thought the Vending Apk was part of the Gapps framework the the market runs on?
I also do not even see a /mnt/cache/cm7 folder using root explorer.

Could it be because I'm on a dual boot setup? Market says it's version 2.3.2.
This sucks, a fluke on my part? I wish I could take a screenshot but none of the screenshot apps seems to be working on CM7, only producing black screens.
umm...wow...kinda worked for me...on v5
i got a force close initially, rebooted...and all my apps are there...
Just to be safe, I installed a new app and everything seemed fine
uninstalled that app, still fine....
rebooted for a second time...and it's broken again
hope that info help!
thats the first time i have seen anything in my apps so it's a step in the right direction.
and now i can't recreate...
reinstalled the apk...no FC...rebooted...no apps...
:/

Thanks for trying it out. This is also the first time "My Apps" has shown anything for me. Guess I got overly excited for myself and everyone. I've done the same steps you have and it still shows everything in "My Apps".
-Just a side note, I've also applied the patched framework.jar from my other thread to CM7. Maybe that has something to do with it as well.
-I've also attached a snapshot of my screen showing my apps in the OP.

yeah it seems like the market is taking an auto-update that's preventing your apps from showing up....
I just rebooted again after uninstalling the updates for a second time and it seems like my apps are available, have been for about 5 minutes
no force close yet like the first time.
and I rebooted again while my apps were still there....opened the market...no more my apps
Uninstall Updates is an option again in Applications.

At least it's working somewhat, and ugly workaround at the moment. Hopefully this helps out the devs in someway as we're troubleshooting it.
this isn't Google actively trying to prevent the market from running on a device that it's not supposed to run on, is it?
seems like a reach...
Yep, uninstalling market updates and immediately launching the market shows all my installed apps. It also shows the Apps and My apps icons from the main market page correctly, instead of having the top part cut off.
I wish we could block market updates . Well, at least with this workaround we can update all the installed apps easily.

Funny you should mention that, only about a week ago I was able to goto android.market.com and I would be able to install apps straight to my Nook, now it says device not supported... sigh**

Simply uninstall update. My /system/app market is the one from gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip (2.2.11, I think). The problem is the auto-downloaded market update that goes to /data/app. And I don't see a way to block it :
(edit) Well, I assume it goes do /data/app. I'll adb into it and see.
(edit2) Yep, com.android.vending-1.apk in /data/app. I wonder what'll happen if I create an empty file there with that same name and 000 permissions...
(edit3) Nothing . It's overwritten anyway by market 2.3.3. But now 2.3.3 seems to work too for me . It shows all my apps.

You may be able to prevent Vending.apk from updating if you resign the apk with test keys then push it back to /system/app.
I believe that it won't be able to update after that. I'd try it but I don't have my nook right now.
EDIT: Try pushing this one to /system/app and see if it still auto-updates.

Small problem with new market

Every since the new market showed up I've been having a issue with it. Sometimes it says i have an update, but when i go into the app to update it wont let me. The only options are to open or uninstall. Any ideas? Thanks.
I've had that issue too, I just uninstall and reinstall it to clear it, but it's still annoying to have it happen.

Apps randomly uninstalling ?

Anyone seeing apps randomly uninstalling? I've noticed it in the past few weeks since I did a reset. The shortcut icon will just be the green Android one, and it says the app has been uninstalled. The App Store says it's still installed though, so I have to uninstall manually, then reinstall. Anyone know what's going on??

yes i have the same issue with NBA game time app...i reinstalled about couple times, and it just got uninstalled on its own...but just that one app, never had any problems with any others
Some of my apps randomly disappear and then they come back.
Was the apps in question ever moved to the sdcard?
Wait....I sent this with Tapatalk?
Not for me. All my apps are on my phone itself.
It's been doing that to me too. Usually when im in gprs-land when i can't download it again. Very annoying.
Mine did it to, but only when I had an excessive amount of apps installed

The same happened to my six or seven apps. All of them were installed inside the phone itself and never moved to the ext_sd_card.
However I noticed, this has been happening to the apps what were installed manually from .apk, in other words not through the Android Market..
Again for the past five days what I am running pretty much debloated ICS - nothing like this happens to my operational environment...

No data or wifi connection

I'll try to keep this brief.
My wife and I both have stock standard HTC Aria's running Android 2.2. A few days ago my wife complained that her battery was discharging really fast. Then a day later mine started doing the same thing.Going flat in a few hours of standby. Normally at the end of the day they would both still have 8 out or ten bars still lit. I turned off wifi, mobile and bluetooth on both phones and that seemed to fix the battery problem.
Now when I turn on wifi or 3g I cant connect at all. My wifi router shows up in settings but it constantly is scanning-connecting-disconnecting. Also cant connect to 3g.
I have tried another sim card but the problem is the same.
As I said, these phone aren't rooted in any way. Have very few apps. Basically used as a phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can try a new battery. Or, if you still have warranty, give it back to service.

You can try a factory reset as a last resort

Thanks dansou but the problem is not the battery. I believe the power was draining because an app was trying , constantly, to access the wifi which will not connect.

Just did a factory reset and everything seems ok.
Just one other problem: When I log in to google play it is showing that I have 2 apps installed (airdroid and astro) These are no longer on my phone but google doesn't want to believe that. I've tried to trash them and tried installing them but nothing happens. It just says "These apps will be un/installed shortly"
Any thoughts?
Thanks

You may have already tried this, but maybe a reboot would do the trick. If rebooting doesn't help, you can use a file manager to take a look into Data>Apps or System>Apps and see if you can find their .apk files there and delete them. If you aren't rooted, you won't be able to delete them, and I'm not sure what you should do if that happens. If they aren't there, then it's probably just a graphical glitch and is showing what really isn't there.
EDIT: Sorry, I read your post wrong. Go into the app details of Google Play Store and select both clear data and clear cache, and that should solve the problem. If not, try rebooting.

Oh my bad, I wasn't really clear about that. It's actually in your phone settings, not the settings in the Play Store.
So you open up Play Store in 'Manage Applications' as if you were trying to uninstall it. In that menu, you'll see options like Force Stop/Disable. Scroll down, and you'll see the 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache' options, and there ya go. I hope I explained it well.

If it's showing that only on the website, you shouldn't have to worry about it... It does that
It's probably showing them for the "old" one, before you did a factory reset

Like WinSuk said, I don't see the problem if it's only showing it on the website. It could be showing what's installed on your wife's Aria if you two are sharing an account.

Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused here.
The apps that I mentioned; Airdroid, Astro, google play etc are showing as being installed on the google play web site. These apps are no longer on my phone after I did the factory reset. Therefore I have no way to reinstall the apps as google play is telling me they are already installed.
Is there another way to do this? Can I dl the apk files from somewhere else and install them manually?
Thanks again for all your help

You don't have the Play Store installed on your phone? If that's the case, you need to search up on google to find the apk file for it. Once you do that, you should be able to install the other apps you've mentioned.
Sorry if I misunderstood you again. I'm getting pretty confused here also.

Update:
I managed to install airdroid and Astro through Android Market app (was that the precursor to play store?)
Now when I log in to google play it shows those two apps as installed. Everything else is showing in "other apps in my library" waiting to be installed. I think I'll leave it at that. My airdroid is working again :good:
Thanks for every ones help.

Yep, the Android Market was renamed to the Google Play Store.
It'll eventually update automatically on your phone and change back to the Play Store
