Hey guys
am currently running foxhound 1.42 and DSP manager...
am looking to know if anyone else has a better audio combination, i like LOUD volume (through my headphones while at the gym) but i like the music it be as clear as possible...... atm i am getting alot of distortion and the rom just doesn't seem as loud as when it was around 0.8
can anyone recomend a rom/kernal and sound manager combination to try?
thanks
calum
Did you install volume gain mod from aroma installer? With that your phone should be loud like crazy.
I use poweramp which has lots of audio settings. I believe there is a free trial on play store to try out. Or you can just flash siyah kernel where you can adjust audio settings in STweaks.
I am using Siyah kernel and its awesome...... Sound seems to be so much better than stock..... but can't compare to your current setup.......You gotta try it yourself.....
Why the holy stick so many people use word kernal not kernel??
slap siyah over whatever the rom you use and enjoy the sound
ok guys cheers gonna give

You don't need another rom. Siyah kernel works fine with foxhound. What you need to do:
- grab latest foxhound
- go into recovery
- make nandroid
- Flash foxhound
In aroma choose:
- volume loud hack, yes
- Install Siyah kernel
After that you'll find stweaks app in drawer with lots of audio tweaks

Is it possible to port the dsp Manager app to 2.2 or 2.1 so we can have the bass boost on our stable roms? The 2.3 music app was also ported so i thought it could also be done with the dsp....
try power amp pro, great equaliser on it from my experience

What ROM are you using? My 6.1.3?
Heres one that works with my ROM

yeah thanks. i'm using your rom.
I actually tried some DSP's from the htc desire and hd forums but both hadn't the bassboost option...
I'll hope this one has.
****tt, after flashing your zip my x10 stucks at the white sony ericsson text @ booting
For those that are having problem with DSP manager i suggest you to do a full wipe + cache wipe + dalvik & battery wipe. and install directly the v3 of wolfbreak's release do not install the first version and update it. just install the v3 version without installing the Gapps. because its already installed on the v3. then try to install the DSP Manager. it sould work without any problem.
Regards.

Basically, it goes bass to mid to treble from left to right. I personally like using a 'scooped' setting, which jacks up the highs and lows while cutting down on the mids. It's the same setting I use on my guitar amps too and I think it gives a nice sound.
So my setting from left to right is 6,5,4,5,6.
I think though to find the setting you like, you'll have to mess with it a bit to find what works best for you. Hope this helps!

1. This is a known CM10 bug and there is nothing D4ark can do about it, for now.
2. Why not just upgrade to 2.1, which mount but dramatically fix your problem, but it's a lot better.
3. If you are using Siyah or any extweaks compatible kernel, you can boost your headset volume with it. Or you can just download volume boosting apps in market.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Upgraded to latest AOKP rom. One thing I don't like about the S2 is the low headset volume when plugging in my headset w/mic. I tried accessing the service menu using the #*#*197328640*#*# but I get an MMI error. Is there a way to access the service menu on the latest AOKP rom? More importantly, is there a way to increase the default volume settings for headsets on S2's?
Thank you in advance
Yes. There are apps on the play store that do this.
Sent from team Pirate headquarters using Beanacle ROM. As soon as he builds it.

Depending on the kernel that you use. Voodoo Louder works pretty well, I think it was $1.23, but it checks for compatibility before you actually by the function. It claims CM kernels are compatible when it does the check, I can't speak for all versions of this kernel, but from all the stock kernels with AOKP that I've tried it on in the last two weeks it has had no effect. With siyah kernels, I've had no problems with it. It boosts up to 6db. If you use siyah, extweaks app is free, but it only boosts 3 db, so not a significant gain, however the latest version 4.3 (which works great with latest aokp ROMs) might have some extra boost. I haven't given it a shot because I didn't really need to boost much more since I already have Voodoo louder, but it's worth some experimentation before buying Voodoo. Yes there are MANY apps, and some that are free, but I thought I'd save you the hassle of trial and error and let you know what does work. Other things might work better, so definitely feel free to try others out. Also DSP manager, you'll have to google for link to apk, I don't think it's here in XDA, works with an EQ, but when you jam them all the way up it doesn't sound quite right to me. I did not like it, but it has several EQ setting you might like with whatever sound system you're using, plus custom EQ. Boosting sound is really my sole reason for changing kernels, but with latest siyah and extweaks, there are a CRAP LOAD of other settings to play with. Eventually I'll get around to them. Hope this helps.
Power amp + ex tweaks. Power amp allows for an increase of I think 6 db if I remember right
Or install Awesome beats + Siyha kernel + extweaks.
You can found the first 2 on mrRobinson Aroma from themes and apps section.

Played with the recent updates in Siyah kernel (in ex tweaks)... The volume boost is pretty damn beast now. Voodoo Louder is pretty much obselete. The headphone amplifier is indeed 6db now, plus the next slider down is an 'analog' boost that goes up 20db....ridonkulous homie... I'm loving it!

Thanks for the tip to use EX Tweaks. I was actually having the opposite problem, headphone volume too loud. Was having to keep it at just 1 click above totally off. Now I can keep it at the mid-point, with plenty of headroom to adjust when moving to louder/quieter environments.
Hi guys new to the site sorry if its wrong section.
Currently on 4.1.2 / JZO54K.I9300XXELL4
i heard that there's a way of rooting my device so i can put a beats by dre mod loaded into my phone? I got the headphones for Christmas but they don't sound that great on my standard phone, just wondering what my best options are?
any help would be greatly appreciated
Dave
Intermediate users should go for Acid Audio using Walkman and Acid together.
For advanced, Boeffla kernel is the best.

Hi, since I'm not allowed to post in Wanam's thread I thought someone might be able to help me with my problem. I installed today wanam's latest rom (v6.2, MB5) and coming from foxhound, I was looking for 'rom options' or kernel options or any other advanced options, which ... weren't present anywhere. So I started going through the installed apps and I found 'MusicFx 1.4' (thinking that it may have something to do with boosting speaker's volume) which has no icon (wasn't running in background either) and there is no possible way to open that app up, which I then uninstalled. However I am now looking for a volume booster as I live and work in noisy/busy areas and Samsung's extra volume won't do the job still. Wanam advised everyone not to restore any app from a different build (because of something to do with MB5) so I'm confused about installing any volume booster mod.
I was also wondering if there is any way that I can get the blacked keyboard (stock, but dark theme, black buttons rather than gray) on this rom ? If so, can anyone tell me how do I do it?
And the last question, is it possible to port the 4.2 messaging app into this rom ? Foxhound rom has an option in the aroma installer to choose it and I find it better, faster and more efficient than the standard 4.1.2 messaging app as it has a quick reply feature and many design customizations also.
To make it more clear, I'm running WanamLite ROM 6.2 MB5, stock kernel (the kernel that comes with the rom, i haven't made any changes to it, but as far as I know it's a little tweaked for better performance & battery life), Android 4.1.2 and I'm looking for:
-volume booster
-dark themed 4.1.2 stock keyboard (available in FoxHound ROM)
-4.2 messaging app (available in FoxHound ROM)
Many thanks.
Look for the default_gain mod or one of the sound mods posted .
