Improvements over previous Rom
1. Contact app is smoth now. No lags. It's still old one.

3. Zram default activated. (I don't know what that is. But read somewhere that it is default now )
It has started

I'm going to be optimistic and think it could (but should be) the UK ICS Rom, Yes it's been 4 months+ and it's still not in the UK!

Yeah I've long since given up on Sony, Now thanks to XDA I can get updates as frequent as they come. I'm on the pre alpha JellyBean rom, it's great!

It's the carriers' fault that UK doesn't have official ICS.

There already is an official beta?
HAAAAAAX!!!

I think it's just a bugfix update. But maybe it'll boost up performance a little, as upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 did.
There's still that obnoxious LED bug which they HAVE TO fix.
But who knows, who knows...maybe Santa will fly down to us and give us fast and stable Jellybean...

No, it's a unofficial prealpha based on CM10.

No I was saying there is a pre alpha version (AOSP + CM) build of Jellybean courtesy of some XDA developers on here, Sony haven't released ICS for everyone yet and it's been almost half a year!, there is no chance they'll release an official beta any time soon.

Well, I believe in sony. Because they have done brilliant support. And they said they will give a software support for 16 month. So make.believe for jelly bean update.

Oh sorry yes - .58... He says that his phone is just a little bit faster, but there is no new apps or functions... Lets hope for the update
I think CM9 will be released sooner than the official firmware from Sony Ericsson!
Just can't wait to have it!

Will root conflict with upgrades?

I have searched through posts around this forum and other forums, but am unsure about root. I know how to root my phone, but wanted to know whether I can still upgrade to the official ics upgrade once it's released if I am rooted on gingerbread. I'm talking about the one click root methods that don't require a new kernel.
AFAIK you can. you'll just loose root when it updates
honestly I'd wait a day after the official update is released the devs will probably have it rooted and you wont have to worry about losing root

Jelly Bean for Xperia Acro S

Seems like Sony has announced the Acro S for the US market. And the OS is listed as 4.1.
Can anyone confirm this or is this an error? If this is correct then Xperia S should also be getting 4.1 soon.
also if some1 has it please upload the rom

EDIT: WATTAFACK: http://store.sony.com/p/Sony-Xperia-acro-S-?-Unlocked/en/p/XASLT26WH#specifications Operating System: Google Android 4.1
It's estimated shipping date is tomorrow, so where the hell is jb for xps? its the same hardware.. jeez
Maybe JB is a lot closer than we thought... . Honestly, moved from an LG Optimus 2x, Sony is a breath of fresh air. At least I know the update will come.

If only Sony would give the JB firmware for certification to pctrb, that would calm a few nerves.
Does that mean we can rob the firmware for the XS?

The T was still in design stages when JB dropped, so the software team was working on it while the other board was in development.

yea i know but im interesting if we will get official updates of kitkat/ now im useing slim been
I would say that we do not get a update, they would not get us the update to 4.1.2, so i think that was the last update.
Now you have to flash costumroms
agreed

I would have to agree. It's a 2 year old device, not matter how you slice it. Unlikely to get anything beyond what we have today OTA. Happy to be proven wrong.

Is this the fix for our KitKat [14.3.A.0.757]?

No. Its not an intended release for generic users.
An open source archive build is basically Sony providing all the tools necessary to build a kernel and perhaps start cooking up ROMs. Depends on what they include.
Just talked to Sony mobile support and they told me an update is starting rolling out today. Should fix several things, in my case the audio issue I have.

Weird thing is, no ptcrb submission for the new firmware version. But let's hope it's really happening.

If you check ptcrb.com, usually every new firmware is listed there first for every handset type. But i think this one is really a bugfix version.
