I am having the same heating issues with Siyah v4.1.5 on stock 4.0.4
Why are you on ICS?
Phone definitely gets warmer with Siyah. My phone gets like a radiator :/ I don't have that problem with Perseus though.

Hi all,
For the last week my phone has powered itself off.
The pattern seems to be at about 3-4pm, just the once and I have to remove the battery...?
I last night stuck a different ROM on my phone, but it still powered off today.?
I have a couple of questions -
Is there an app that tells me why my phone shuts down?
If I have replaced the ROM, could the modem cause this as I recently changed to XXKL1.
Or maybe my kernel -Siyah ver 2.6.6 as this is fairly new..?

Maybe try siyah 2.6.7 ?

Kernel !
Flash another kernel.
Yea, it sounds like a kernel issue. Flash a kernel like Siyah kernel, I seem to remember him fixing a touch screen issue recently. Also, you should really update your phone to something like XXLP8, better all rounder.
Chris.

Hi guys, I'm new to the S3 and having use the S2 for over a year and a half excited about the S3 I just couldn't resist on buying now. On my S2 I've always used the Phenom kernels as they've always been great battery savers but after reading a little bit about some sudden death thing that the phenom kernel doesn't have a fix for I was wondering if it was a wise idea to stay away from flashing phenom? And If so then what kernel would you recommend I flash so I avoid killing my new phone with this sudden death thing?
All the latest custom kernels have the SDS fix. Also flash Philz recovery touch to be realy safe.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I'm sure I read that phenom didn't have this fix, am I wrong about that then?
That is possible mate. I did not use that kernel yet. But siyah, boeffla, perseus and more are safe.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Thanks mate. Which out of those kernels would you recommend? Just basically for battery saving and pre rooted.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I am using Boeffla right now an had good batterylife so far.

I have flashed my s2 to Blazing kernel v10 and now in sometimes it suddenly stuck with a continues vibration when a call is receiving.
And also heat countinuesly while the phose not working.
Those cases only thing that can be done is removing the battery.
Then again it works normally...
Please concern on this...

Flash another kernel,or stock.
When flashed Blazing kernel v9, v8 and the stock now, the phone is seems to be stuck in every few minutes.
It's then really hard to use the touchscreen and the video playback...
Jelly bean 4.1.2 running with the stock rom.

Clean the kernel using GS2kernelWipe script & then flash afresh a new kernel & see.
Can you please send me a link to download...
I just tried flashing the whole firmware using the odin.
But no considerable results.
