when you flash an ftf file or a custom kernel, flashtool shows :
BOOTLOADER STATUS: ROOTED ..
try that way.. hope this helps

What Rom are you on? Go to /system/app and see if there is ServiceMenu.apk inside that or not. Because thats what opens when you type that code. It has a green icon. If not download it from the system dump. Copy it to the above destination and change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot.

Any luck on unlocking the boot loader i am also having the same issue on trying to unlock my SE mini Pro
get the ServiceMenu apk. force it in /system/app. then try, you'll get the status

when i traverse to system/app i find servicemenu .apk already found
but but *#*#7378423#*#* does not show the service menu
what should i do..i am damn need of ulocking the boot loader please help
Impossible!
I recommend you reflash the stock firmware using flashtool. Google about how to use flashtool.

Take this tool for unlocking your bootloader.

At the moment the link is down. I will upload it again when I am at home.
This tool is like unlocking via Sony method. You will lose drm.
At the moment I am on jjhybrid. I also pushed service.apk to system and gave permission and it didn't work.
Flash back a stock rom and look if your phone is allowed to unlock the bootloader.

Try this for Service Menu
1- Lock the screen by pressing power button ---(Screen Off)
2- Press power button again -------------------(Screen on but still locked
3- Press the hardware keys like that "HOME,BACK,BACK,HOME,BACK,HOME,HOME,BACK"
4- You should see the service menu

after that when i installed codeman 9 rom via CWM Recovery , it showed that u hav succesfully installed super fasr new rom.
but when i restarted my phone its showing just sony ericsson logo .

u dont have to press power button dude... just power off the device and then hold volume up button and plug in the usb cable.... note that u need fastboot drivers installed on pc to have fastboot work properly... hope this will help you..

The easiest way is using THE SEARCH BUTTON. In the dev section are instructions for both, locked and unlocked

Because it's pretty much the same. Unlock the bootloader and fastboot an auto rooting kernel. Just use a ics kernel instead of a gb one

Lol,
Try using SEUS and PCC.. If they refuse to update/repair your phone, you have unlocked bootloader successfully !!

Just rooted the xperia u with the new ICS using flashtool
Its time to play
For the sake of (some member here) its as simple as opening flashtool choose root tool from the menu then let it do its job and of course use restore trick when it prompts you ....you will need to also update busybox or it some apps wont see its rooted ...

Hey guys I found the tft file that can help us relock back our bootloader after Unlock it...
First,all you need to do is download below file to process:
Flashtool version v0.9.9.0 (Google search it)
The require relock bootloader file in below (Extract the tft file to your pc after download)
After download all the file,you are now ready to relock your bootloader:
1)Power Off your phone
2)Open up flashtool
3)After open up flashtool,now click the left side first icon,then you will be ask to choose which mode you want {1)Flashmode 2)Fastbootmode}
4)Now select Flashmode
5)Connect your phone to your pc in flashmode using data cable (Hold volume DOWN key)
6)Now select the tft file where you store in
7)At the right side Option tick the No Final Verification
8)That will flash automatically
9)After that reboot your phone and you will see your bootloader is relock now ENJOY!!!
NOTE:
Before flashing,don't forget to BACKUP your file
FLASH IT AT YOUR OWN RISK,I NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKED DEVICE,DEAD SD CARDS
After flashing,you will ABLE to download the latest official firmware from SONY.
FAQ:
Q:Why relock your bootloader?
A:You can do an offcial update from SONY via Sony PC Companion and repair your fw at SEUS!!!

i folloved the instruction...and when i turn off the phone and i wait 5 second and press and hold search button and plugin the usb cable there is not blue light..nothing..so im not possible to boot in fastboot....any solution for this??? or can i use fastboot without unlocking bootloader?? i have 12w54..it is possible to unlock?? simlock is unlocked for any sim card...its brand new phone...

Please search the threads for unlocking the phone ... and then this feature works.
i had the same experience......
if u unlock u r phone will be void of any warrenty and do it only if u r ok with it .
