Is there a way to remap the soft keys on the XPERIA S. I would like the menu key to open recent apps while holding will open menu. The holding of home key should also be for voice search to prepare for google now!
Thanks!

Questions don't belong in development, and your question doesn't make sense, in title you say hardware keys, and in post you say software keys..
Milad are u thinking about devolp a rom or porting for Xperia S, as u already done with x10?

I've found many threads to remap buttons on devices, but I couldn't find any way to remap holding what the home button does.
I would like to change the search button to switching apps, instead of holding the home button. I've heard of APP_SWITCH, but that only shows recent apps (like gingerbread). I'm on a ICS rom and would like that functionality on the search button.
Thanks in advance.

Moving to Q&A
I'm looking for something like this for days now.
i now where i can change the function the search button is doing, but i have no idea to what i have to change that..
For someone with knowledge it shouldnt be hard to find out what a long home press is doing (script wise) and then we could just change the function of the search button..
I hope somebody with know how reads this, because its a great idea for, example the nexus s
I'm not sure if this should go in Q&A forum or development, but here's a question
I saw this same question was unanswered for Nexus. I assume there's no way yet to remove the menu button (...) and make the Recent App physical button do that?
Thank you!

Requires HTC Dev unlock and root. Great mod.
Is there a mod which allows users to answer calls by pressing the home button? I have seen this feature in Galaxy S2 and was wondering whether it is possible in our xperia devices? Thank you.

There's no mod to answer call with physical buttons?
hi.
I currently have a Samsung Vibrant. It has home, return, menu and search keys.
Now I look at the One, and I can see it has only the home and return keys, and doesn't have the menu key which is important for most apps.
Am I missing something?
Also the search key, I know some apps that don't have a search button and only way to search is to use the capacitive key. Would it make a problem with the One?
Thanks.

They are pushing to get rid of the menu button and have Devs incorporate it into their apps some way
If it doesn't have one you can hold down back to open the menu
Most apps already have a search bar if needed anyway

I take it you haven't seen any new smartphone since ICS came out. Google got rid of the menu and search keys, and instead added a multitasking key. However, in what seems like the most ridiculous move since the LG Optimus Vu, HTC decided to get rid of the multitasking key, which can now be emulated by double tapping home.
Also I heard you can initiate the menu key by doing a pull down gesture. Just don't include the notifications bar on your pull down.
Hi guys, i hope im here at the right location..
I have a new Mi3 and im quite cool with this device. Its just that im missing 2 features of cyanogenmod with the buttons: I mapped the search button on long pressing menu, and with double tap the homd button, I went back to the previous app. Cann i have this feature again? Maybe with wsm or xposed?
Thanks
