Root / Rooting = to lift the default protection of the Android OS and gives you access to all system files that are normally hidden from you

Followed the guide, my U lost the ability to change colors when viewing the themes (cosmic flow) although when viewing images it still works fine. Also started getting some lag. Any way to somehow fix these?

This is a known bug on the Xperia U. However to fix it, all you have to do is install the Light1.1.apk from the following thread (Credits to straciam).

PS: I have not tested this app but I speculate that this will be the solution based on the comments in that thread. I would recommend you to read the thread first. If this helped, do thank me and the developer of the app

Will try to do that when I get home next week thanks. I now have a new issue lol. Recently tried out supercharged kernel by vito, prob is that when I press the power button the screen somewhat flickers before fading to black. It goes fuzzy like in a tv but only quickly. Tried turning off and on my phone but its still there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

To Un-root, all you need to do is Flash the stock ROM FTF. There are 2 threads in the Xperia U Development thread that has all the information of Download links to the FTF's ICS and GB. Just have a look. Just a quick guided video would be helpful.

Its the fade out effect. Before I used the kernel the screen normally goes black, now the fade out effect has gray and white fuzzy things. I don't think I have tried to change my ROM yet.

These root guide is Pre-ICS so for ICS you'll have to use different kernels then provided here or use the Binary methode

binary methode only works on ICS. so take that one (don't forget to install busybox after it)

have installed it today on my XU.
v13 of the binary methode works, v14_2 messes stuff up.

I'm having real problems.
I'm not a complete n00b but I can't get past the stage where I need to locate the drivers in device manager. I jut point to the folder where it is and nothing happens. It doesn't install the drivers. I have tried zipped and unzipped and still nothing. Please help

Hey Guys,
I soft bricked my phone before but had my EFS backed up, restored it and now it works again. (I wiped everything off my phone I think)
I installed liquidsmooths 4.2.2 rom and when I uninstall apps now, this error message always pops up although the app still gets uninstalled.
cannot read /data/xposed/modules.whitelist
What does it mean?
Also now some of the codes such as *#1234# to see the phones details do not work as well as the code *#7284# to access PhoneUtil to name a few.
The code to view my IMEI no. works though.
Another question I have is that my phone use to register I think 13.6GB or 14.9GB (something like this, but it was 100% more than 11GB) before I soft bricked it. But now it says I only have 11GB to use. Is there a problem with my PIT file or something?
Do I need to install the stock jellybean firmware (I believe it came from Hong Kong, 4.1.1) first or something? Not too sure why these changes occurred.
Any help is appreciated!

Same problem, i uninstalled f-secure ( just tried it) and after then i got that error message and phone freezed, rebooted uninstalled different app and same message but no freezing. I'm running jellybam 6.30 android 4.2.2.
i had this error too on rootbox, and i solved it by installing xposed framework from the rom's settings.

oh ok, do you know what the error actually means though? My phone doesn't freeze and operates fine but that error pops up whenever I uninstall something and not knowing what it means is annoying me haha

This is the answer right here. Go to Settings, Interface, Install Xposed DPI Installer. That is all. Kofe answered, some people don't read. As for what it is? Something to do with DPI? lol.

The bigger issue is that the message should not flash onto the screen and disappear so quickly you can barely read it and also should indicate how to cure it.

Firmware or mods from here may brick your non I9300 .

canvas HD is a product from a indian company Micromax. samHD is custom rom based on samsung galaxy s4. after installing this rom i was facing this whitelist error. i googled it and found this forum. pl do something...pl

To fix the : <b>cannot read /data/xposed/modules.whitelist </b> problem as indicated in the title, it means that you have a rom that utilizes the Xposed DPI application. the error means that the application is residing on your phone but is not installed. That is why you have to go to your phone Settings, Interface, Install Xposed DPI Installer and click on install.
That will remove your cannot read /data/xposed/modules.whitelist error when removing apps from your phone.

Hi Guys, Few Days Ago I Posted Topic On How To Root Spreadtrum SC8810 Device But No One Was Accurate Enough. I Posted The Same Question On GSM Forum But No One Replied. This Is The 1st Tutorial Abt Rooting All Spreadtrum/Mediatek '&&' Many Other Processors With A Single Click.
Steps:
1) Download USB Drivers For Your Phone. (Google For It). If You Can't Find Drivers For Your Phone Then Contact Me.

If you have trouble getting ADB driver installed use www.snappea.com, it can install a generic adb driver that will work for what we need!

Edit : I noticed in your old guide that you could remove the chinese superuser after installing english superuser and updating, I've done that
and the prompts now come up from the english superuser, but the chinese one has made itself a system app somehow and I can't delete it,
is there a solution for that or should I just disable it and ignore it.

So you get english superuser prompts when something asks for root? Try using Titanium Back up to uninstall the chinese superuser app.

Plz Ignore It Cz If You Will Uninstall SuperUser Then You May Loose Root Access.
Size Of Chinese SuperUser Might Be Like 700 Kb. It Wont Affect You Much. So Just Leave It As It Is! !

It is actually quite simple to swap out the chinese superuser for the SuperSU or english Superuser if you know how. I posted how in my post about using Vroot.

Also - for most devices needing an ADB driver, just install snap pea from here: www.snappea.com It will install a generic ADB driver that will work just fine with any and every device I have used it on so far! You might also consider referencing or linking the developer of this tool since it is not of your own design. :good:

I really need help i recently rooted my galaxy Note2 GT-N7100 (4.3)and i tried to use the Game Killer Application which is used to edit the values in game. but the problem is even though my phone is rooted it still asks for root privileges and closes on its own and starts again and then disappears on its own again. And regarding GameHacker when i try to change values i see (Modification Failed) ..any help? would be much appreciated. Game Killer and Game Hacker are two of the key reasons why i rooted my device

first to make things clear u r using supersu right???
2nd if yes then pls check in settings of supersu app click on enable pro then restart app then open the app again in settings remove the tick mark from re authentication and change the option default access to grant and also change the looging option to full content (so that we can find out whats wrong) thats all for now

Same result, i did everything you mentioned and my phone is rooted through Dr Ketan tools from this website
and i run Titanium backup and Super su and many other apps they all work correctly
also when i go to settings in my phone then status i see device status is custom and not modified but all rooted apps are working very well except these two apps

Try install latest Busybox. Then in app settings, clear Game Hacker's data. Then uninstall this and download again on this link : goo.gl/0t20EZ then install and retry.
Gamekiller, GameCIH, Game hacker don't work on Android 4.3...
I tried many things and I found one: you can use a very old version of GameKiller... I tried severals version and the latest that's working it's 1.90

I'm running dn3 on the n7105. It works on my tab2 running slimkat 4.4.2 and my son's s4 mini running rooted stock 4.2

Im running 4.4.2 leaked DN3 V4 RC2 and both Game Guardian and Game hacker is still working fine on my phone..

I i bought the pro version "BusyBox" followed all what you mentioned above but same result
with both 2 Apps
And I'm still waiting for someone i can reward Up to $ 100 USD to fix the issue step by step or if my phone is not fully rooted and gudie me the root process through google hangouts online or through emails to fix this problem. but i think it's fully rooted and my phone is running Platinum Backup and all rooted apps very well except the 2 apps :fingers-crossed:

can u tell which rom u r using... also pls check the log in supersu after opening game hacker and see if the entry for game hacker is present and if it is then pls check the detailed log...
also if its not working even after all this then backup using twrp or philzs recovery and try to factory reset.. and try again if still not working then try changing the rom I m on dn3 v 3.2.1 and I can assure u that its working on dn3 v3.2.1 rom...

I'm on Dr Ketan's Rom V6 and using Game Hacker. It is running perfectly. I rooted my device with Odin (CF-Root Kernel) Then installed thia rom. (This is how I rooted my beauty :3)

@Sarasedrestcool here is the simpliest way to root your Note2.. just follow the instructions on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696.. and if you want to check if your fully rooted or not, you can try root checker or cpu-z from playstore..
I want only a *professional in rooting* guide me step by step through my email and i'll add him to Google Chat and be so i can follow him how to unroot and then Re-Root again and then installing the two apps.
if the two apps working i'll pay him through PayPal the reward
if any professional interested just send me an email directly no need to answer here because i tried many many things but i still don't know if the problem with the two apps and they are not compatible with my phone or my phone

I don't really get what you mean about unroot and re-root..can you clarify these?

to fix your game killer and game hacker problem you have to install the AGNi kernel or a ROM that has the kernel in it.
Yes this is working i am using a tab 3 8.0 wifi (sm t310) on the validius 6.1 (4.4.4 Based) ROM and i am pretty sure you can run the kernel on slimkat too

Go to the link that's posted above. Simply flash the kernel and the custom recovery. Once you've got the custom recovery, just install a SuperSu zip from the SD card while you're in recovery mode. Done! SuperSu is the best root manager available!
No need to risk using Chinese rooting tool! You won't know what else is being put on your phone. And you won't have to tolerate any unwanted ads.

this vpndialogs part of system apk which allow to runs vpn on phone.but i deleted to this system apk by mistakes and i need it again but i have not because i delete it.can u give a copy of this vpndialogs apk please?

sorry unfortunately I don't have the phone anymore but I think if you install wiko lenny 2 official rom it will resolve it. (i think you can find the rom on the official site of wiko... I'm not sure or you can search on Google and make sure you have correct rom)
you need to have installed TWRP as well
and installing new rom it will reset all your data.
plz go to the thread that mentioned on comment by CVangelo and let me know your progression
