I have got an explorer for my dad
but he says that the font of the caller ID ( phone number ) is too small for him to read at the incoming call screen
is there any way to make the font bigger or using any app or etc ???

hi, first time android phone user was just wondering if this phone has the ability to change the font size for the txt being writen in the sms box (above the keyboard) my eysight is not too good and need reading glasses when im writing sms, but if the fonts are bigger i dont need to put them on as i dont carry the glasses with me when im out.
i have found a way to make the sent and recieved sms's bigger by using go sms app but that does not make the text bigger until the txt has been sent. (well not that i know of)
my gf iphone a old 3g one does that in settings where u can pick a font and make them heaps big or small and it would change the size of all including while you where typing it.
i got this phone thinking this would do it coming from a old samsung omnia wm6.1 where the writing box was tiny and useless.
Use Chomp sms. typing box follows sent message text size.

hi thanks tried that, but couldnt find a way to change the size of the font in the typing box, it changes the font size of out going and in going txt once its gone like the other sms apps but not the txt size as im typing on the keyboard
On my Galaxy S, I used FONTSIZE, fonts that is increased in the entire Galaxy. Very good, but you must have a Root.

Please suggest me any app that meets the requirements.
I have tried Fullscreen caller but it has delays.
Any other suggestions are appreciated.

there are some apps you can use, like full caller id, which shows fulls screen photo, widgetlocker, which changes the entire locker screen, and you can use Milocker and use some of the MIUIs locker screens without having the rom
not working .. its change the Lock screen only ... i want to change the answer slide with other slides styles

I was Looking for the Phone app with full screen caller picture for Cm7. I found the different way of modding phone apk's.
Replaced the two files call_card.xml and call_card_person_info.xml which makes the full screen caller picture.
and it looks Gr8 , the call screen.
I have not done anything on My own. All credit Goes to the Original Devs
I Just wanted to Share with others who dont know about these gr8 Mod. :highfive:
And I need a little help. Please Guys Help on a few things.
1. Remove the Blue bar under the Caller Name & number.
2. Align the Caller name & number to the left side instead of right.
3. Reduce the Font size of Caller Name and Number.
4. Can those tabs around the add call, end call, etc be made transparent.

I am not a dev So dont really know what values to edit in xml to makes these changes .
Please can someone help ..

I'm not a dev, too, so I'm not sure if I will be of some help - but this comes with a very good timing as I've just tried out one of those fullscreen apps and I'm finding it's just too heavy for our little Willy...
I've also thought about tweaking the original files but I'm a bit too short on time only to have a look at it...
But good to know someone started workin on it

Yeah. I know our buzz not able to handle those apps. I tried that too. Call screen and dialer was the only reason which forces me to use the sense roms. Now with this modded phone app . I am using cm7 and its working gr8 without any errors. But little few more tweaks will make it gr8 . Hope some one gonna help us.
Feel free to use the apk I hv attached its working flawlessly without any problem. :thumbup:

thx, unfortunately my current ROM (LeWa) has a different phone.apk - probably I will have a look what you changed (is it all in the XML file?)
--- EDIT --- is this the modded apk of the 7.2 stable?
I didn't changed anything . I just picked those two xmls and replaced the original ones in phone/res/layout .
I just replaced the xml files in phone.apk . Yes It is only for cm7.2 m not sure though. I hv used it with cm7.2 stable build and now using it with nightly built.

I am currently running a 4.0.4 rom based off of the at&t official 4.0.4. I recently compared phones with my friends samsung galaxy note 2 also running 4.0.4 but the core samsung version, and i love their messaging appearance so much better. its the same, but the background is black, and their speech bubbles are blue and yellow. mine is white with blue and grey bubbles.
anyway to download this version for my messaging app? i am otherwise happy with the way my stock one works.
anyone got anything at all??

You should be able to change the appearance of the messaging app's speech bubbles and background, by going to the settings section in the messaging app and then under the display options section should be the options for changing background and speech bubble appearance.

I dont have any display settings within my messaging app at all besides font size. and the general display settings, nothing applies to messaging except the font style will change in messaging as well.
i dont think i can take it from my friends since its not rooted.

What I would recommend doing is using ADB on your friends device and using the adb pull command pull the messaging application from his device to your computer, and then install it on your device. The command adb pull /system/app/AppName.apk should get you the app you want.
