Did you calibrate your battery? You are supposed to everytime you install a new rom. Charge to 100 percent, boot to recovery, wipe battery stats, drain the battery down till phone powers off, plug it in and boot to android, charge to 100 again without break.

If you let the phone power down by itself, when you plug it in it will boot to the charge only screen. If you hold the power button as you plug it in and keep it held it will skip that screen and boot straight to android. And yeah, try not to use the phone while its charging.

Whats not working? The holding the power button thing? Thats ok, it doesnt screw up the process of calibrating. It will let you hold the power button and boot to android from the charging screen once it registers anything more than 0 percent. It also takes a few days of use after the calibration to really see a change. Youre just reading a little too far into it. Just boot to 100, wipe bat stats, drain it to 0, boot it back up and let it charge to 100. Use your phone normally for a few days after that and youll notice the difference.

You know I never really got what the term "charge cycle " is, what os it? Is it when you recondition turn battery 3 times or what?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Go into recovery mode and in the menu there is an advanced go in then and wipe stats or you can get an app that does the same thing. Either do that. Then, drain the battery 'til dead (run a movie). Then fully charge That is a complete charge cycle. That will recondition it that is all you really need. Then also maybe get a task manager or something similar to be able and check and make sure there are not things running in the background check.
If the battery then is not holding a charge after this then..maybe the battery needs replacing
Charge cycle is from charged to dead to charged.

Hey thanks you all for responding to my thread. I have now just discovered that the phone will not even power up or hold a charge at all. I am thinking its the battery because the bionix rom and the kernal were still working before the phone shutdown. Any thoughts on this new development??
I cannot seem to get my phone to just go into charge only mode. I haven't been able to for a while, is there a fix for this?

If you're talking about what I think you are, go to Settings, Applications, Development and uncheck Stay Awake. I had the same problem and that seemed to have fixed it.

This will allow for me to turn the phone off and plug in the charger and the phone will go into the "Charging" mode instead of booting up... mine just sits on the motor logo and never goes into that mode... I am using tenfars newest recovery and beta 4 gingerbread... not sure if those could affect this charging mode...

My guess is either 2.3.4 (i'm on the "ota" version and you're on hktw) or being unlocked.
Leaning towards unlock... but who knows. Anyone unlocked not on 2.3.4 have this issue?
Better question. Why are you turning it off to charge it? Just plug it in.

Sometimes u drain your battery to the point it shuts off. And sometimes you want a quicker charge. I don't think he needs to validate why though...
i had the same problem. i would drain the battery accidentally, plug the phone into the charger, and it would hang on the moto logo. i would have to pull the battery after letting it charge for a while and it would boot up.
i'm almost certain all you have to do is go into System Recovery and click on charge mode. i don't think it matters if your phone is plugged in or not. just give it time to reboot on its own.
I am not using the old version of tenfar, I removed that app after putting on the new recovery. I recall the last time I used it though I definitely used the charge mode...

Thanks but system recovery charge mode didn't work either and yea battery pull is and turning it it on without being plugged in is the only way to boot it.

It sounds like your battery needs to be charged. Get an external charger, or charge it in another phone. Once it is charged, you may need to do a hard reset.
I can't go to bootloader so I can't flashing RSD
battery is full, after charger with dekstop charger
If you can't get into bootloader with volume up and power, or with volume down and power button, then I think you have a brick.

Take battery out, cut a usb cable(any kind), red wire to positive and black wire to negative. Plug cable into changer. Wait 30 minutes. Unplug and try again

If you have a brick....you're kinda outta luck. But.....there should be a stock file to flash via SBF if you can still get to that part. Not sure if you can......
I had the same looking problem. But my screen and battary was cool. When I tried to turn it on, nothing happend, even when I connected a charged, led showed nothing.
To make it work I did such things:
-firsty take the battery out for a while, then put in
-connect via USB to PC and push power button
-without disconnecting it from UBS, take out the battery for a second and put it in again.(then it turnes on by it selfe, without pushing a poer button. If it not pappens try to push it.)
I repeated this a lot of times, but at the end it turned on)))
thanks for all solution
I will try one by one
I will tell again the result
Also, pull battery, let both cool down, freeze battery, then charge phone. Had to do it with a Sony Erricson x10a

This is what has worked for me every time no matter if stock rooted or any other custom rom..... and I do this switching back and fourth between extended and stock battery..... you must be rooted.... atleast i was.
get the battery monitor widget from the market. In the setting you can change the ma rating of the battery you are using. Once you have done that click on stats in the app and it'll clear battery stats. Reboot phone go into app and clear stats again. That should be it. When I had clokworkmod installed on the reboot id clear battery stats in there as well.
This has worked for me time and time again.

I believe it's in the app he mentions. The "wipe battery stats" option is also in the advanced menu of CWM (clockwork mod). If you do not have a custom recovery installed just disregard that part as bootstrap does not have it.

Phone does not turn on when battery is <5%. Charge your phone using the original Motorola charger, preferably use wall charger for say 30 mins at least. If it does not work, try different plug point.

I have ordered for a factory cable. I am gonna try putting up a new ROM on the phone. Let's see if that works.
I recalled one more thing, before my phone got bricked, the day prior to that I used battery calibration application on my phone. Do you think that would have affected my phone?
