Wrong time on clock - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello everyone,
Today i suddenly noticed that the clock on my Xperia S started running behind a couple of minutes. When i last checked it today, the time was still pretty much correct. I picked it up a few minutes ago and the time was suddenly about 10 minutes off .
Is this a known issue? It can be very annoying if you have to be at an appointment or so. The only way i noticed this, is because i was browsing the web on my computer.
I can't figure out why it did this, i didn't do anything special with it. Possibly a software bug that Sony isn't aware of?
Or could it be a wrong setting on the network? (I had the option to get the time and date from the network enabled)
Anyone else experiencing this?

Maybe something wrong with your network, try to set it manually.

Hmm same problem here but instead of going backward mine goes forward about 10-20 mins. I set it manually still after 5-6 hrs, it goes forward by 10-20 mins lol
Funny thing.

you should try to set it manually to the time. then wait like 2 hours and set it back to automatically.

or try to clear the cache of the Clock if possible(its an app called clocks i think....)

Stock ICS battery drain

Hello, I have been reading and can't find a solution for my non rooted stock ICS I717. It seems my battery is draining super fast way faster than Gingerbread. I have checked my deep sleep and it is working and I turn on b4 unplugging. Is there a solution besides rooting and installing a custom ROM?
Thanks,
Soggy

Get an app like better battery stats and check wakelocks to see if an app is kicking in and waking your phone up.
Check your battery details and see if itcshows awake lot.

I have a question. What exactly is "deep sleep"? I've been coming across this term a lot on the forum; did a forum swaeh, but couldn't find an answer. Sorry for the nooby question, I'm new to Android. Made the move from Apple not too long ago.
Also, can someone please give me a link on how to root (again, I don't really know what exactly to search for). I recently upgraded to the ICS update.
Thanks.

[Q] GPS no longer working

Hello everyone!
Well not sure what has happened but my GPS no longer wants to lock on to any satellites.
It was working great two days ago but just no longer works as of yesterday and today.
I have tried soft resetting the phone many times along with tools from the gps status apps.
I have also tried clearing data from google maps but still with no luck
Any help will be greatly appreciated... I really need my Google Navigation to work for school and work
Thanks in advance!

The only thing I've ever done is clear the AGPS data using GPS Test. That seems to do the trick. Seems like I have to do this every 3 days or so.
I just tried and it did not work
I'm in the same boat but my gps stopped working after a rom flash at some point. Did you also flash a new ICS rom in the past couple of days?
I'm looking for a solution since I am going to be using my gps real soon. I've tried flashing the GB radio and that didn't seem to help. The only thing that seems to work is if I flash back to a GB rom or a leaked ICS rom.
That might be the solution for you if you recently updated your rom. I'm surprised that there aren't more people complaining about the gps which leads me to believe that there are probably different chipsets for the gps or something in the radio where only a select bunch of phones are affected.
I work for DHL and use my GPS every day. Mine stopped working too, I thought it was the actually GPS module as I wiped and reflashed CM9 and AOKP and still the same. What I did was flash back to a stock modded rom and modem for Telus and viola it worked! Im gonna flash back to CM9 and see what happens.
Crap there is a fix that is floating around, in fact it was a fix and a revert back to normal if the fix didn't work, and the fix didn't work for anyone but the revert back to stock was fixing everyone's GPS (including mine). I searched the forum before posting this but I didn't find it, but I have the files on my laptop.... trouble is I don't know how to post them here?
Is everyone confirming that there gps is not locking on to any sattelites via gps test from the play store?
I'll try and figure out how to get those files to you guys in a minute.... hang tight.

^this is the gps fix that doesn't work but you gotta flash it to get the revert to work. So flash this one first.
http://db.tt/M0u538wH
Ok this is the revert back to stock, its a flashable zip so give it a try and let me know
I found a couple of fixes that didn't work for me (updating the gps.config file and flashing the GB modem) but might for others. I don't remember where I found the config file but I think if you search for gps.config you should see it in the Q&A somewhere.
I also found that when I flashed the CM10 Phandroid rom the newest with working video record my gps is back to working again. So I'm thinking there has to be some thing in the newer kernel that is blocking an apps ability to turn on the gps and if you manually turn off/on it won't stay active.
I think I'm going to stick with the jelly bean for now until I find a reason to switch to either a GB rom or something like one of appdroid's leaked kernel LF5 roms. (IMO - appdroid's roms seemed to play really nice with my Note)
*** Updated - Sorry LittleRedDot I totally missed your uploaded links. If I flash back to BlackStar I will give your flashable zip a whirl... Thanks!
I contacted ATT they said it is Samsung GPS software and hardware, so call Samsung, the more the better.

What didn't work for you? Have you tried downloading GPS Test from the market and seeing if you're locking on to any sattelites.
Well after several weeks of GPS unstability, I pestered ATT today, and they agreed to send me a replacement Note. Of course I have to send the defective one back.
I tried to force it to go to GB, once it was back on GB, the GPS was still flakey.
I am hoping the replacement will work like GB did before. The rep said she thought JB was available, and then recanted the statement.
LOL

The GPS fix that you posted and the revert. And I just did and im getting from 1 to 3. I cleared AGPS and also updated it. From the instructions i get, it works it set GPS location set. However when i go to google maps app its still off not where im actually at. Also when doing navigation it never locks, it says searching GPS signal...this is frustrating

Wow just tried something and it seemed to work i got right where im at also got a lock on navigation in gmaps and started working. Having GPS test open and pressing home instead of back button left it on in the background basically. I got it to work...wierd huh? And if i dont do this (leaving GPS test in the background and closing it by pushing back button to exit it) it wont work and GPS is way off...any idea. Also if you guys are having GPS issue. Try this and see if it works.

Edit: Well I was too tired to flash JB last night. But I did it this morning and man oh man is this ROM sexy!!! If I'm reading your screenshot correctly, it says you've been on a single battery charge for 3 days, 9 hours, 40 minutes and 38 seconds? With only a small time spent charging? If that is correct, then that is PHENOMENAL battery life. What are you talking about?
Are you trolling?

You're still getting way better battery life than I get, and my phone isn't awake for anywhere near the same percentage as yours is.
In any case, as Prashanthme said above, install BetterBatteryStats, use the phone normally for a day... or however long it takes your phone to go from 100% to nearly dead - which looks like 3(!!!!!) days.
Then examine the screens, logs, and dump file generated by the app to find out what is keeping your phone awake.

How do I stop the OTA update?

I'm on stock/locked 2.04, and just got the 2.06 OTA notification last night. I postponed it, but the latest it would allow was 4/22. How do I stop the OTA from installing at that time?
Apologies if this has been answered before, I did do a forum search but all I could come up with was, "Flash a different ROM!". As such, that's not really an option on the table at this point.
That's interesting I wonder if there's a deadline or that's just the max amount of days you can postpone at a time.

TBH.. that's the first time I've ever seen "Reject" as an option for an OTA. I've only seen install or defer, with the mentioned deadline of when the install is required. Since I'm rooted, I just rename/delete '/etc/security/otacerts.zip' and freeze/delete '/system/app/Updater.apk'. After that, a cache wipe and you won't see the annoying popup anymore.

It is strange that we're presented with different options. Well, I sent my baby off for JTAG today so hopefully it'll be a moot point when she gets back. My only concern would be if it installs itself on 4/22 and somehow jacks up the SOFF abilities. Probably paranoia, but sometimes with OTA it pays to be paranoid. :fingers-crossed:
nah it won't hinder JTAG

I got that option today too and defered until the 24th but just now it started popping up saying that the update would start in 30 seconds. I hit back and it kept coming up. I disabled wifi, mobile data, and sync then restarted the phone and then it popped up again. Only option to close the screen was [ok]. Definitely not liking the fact that this update is forced no matter what.

It has come up multiple times for me as well, each time allowing to defer at least until the 24th.
The update more than likely only tried to fix sim detection issues.
Good thing stock is very reliable on the DNA. If you're an addicted flasher you might want to consider the JTAG service.
What just happened to me, I set defer to 12/31/13 phone said no so I set it to max date and hit Ok, and it started running right then with the 30 second count down. I shut down my phone then re powered it up, on restart the reject option showed up and I hit that.

There is no exploit for 2.04, therefore nobody can say definitively that an exploit for 2.04 would work for 2.06. Seems a lot of people have given up on an exploit ever being found. However the bounty thread reaching close to $1k seems to be generating more interest in the possibility.
