DLNA Sharing not working on International S3 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Hi, can someone help. I have the S3, rooted, and tried yesterday to go into settings, more settings, nearby devices, file sharing. However all of the options including the `radio' button is greyed out?
Has anyone else come across this?
I thought it may have been kernel specific, I was using Franko's R14, so I re-flashed the standard build I9300XXBLG8 with the root maintained but still no joy?
Can anyone help?
Screen shot attached!
Thanks
Dave

You might have already tried this but just keep taping on the file sharing switch, my phone was doing the same thing with all the buttons grayed out but i just taped that switch like 10 times and it ungreyed and started to let me turn it on and off.
Sorry if you have tried this already.

Thanks for the help, just found the answer in another thread, I had to goto settings/application manager/click the ALL tab, scrolled down to the `Nearby devices APP' and clicked Cleared Data, went back to settings/more settings/nearby devices and it worked. Thanks to whoever posted that!
Worked for me
I had the same problems, eventually fixed it by removing the micro sd card, clearing nearby devices data and restarting the phone. Once I confirmed everything was working, I reinserted the micro sd card and now everything works as it should. I hope this helps someone.
Didn't work for me. Only for the first time after deleting the data it worked, the on/off switch was enabled immediately. When I went to the menu for a second time, I had to wait for about 15 seconds, before the switch became enabled again.

Mines still borked too!
I've read that even doing a factory reset still doesn't sort it, maybe its an issue with firmware? I'll try deleting cache and dalvik cache in cwm to see if that helps.
. . to confirm clearing nearby devices works but only temporarily
edit / update:
well it seems clearing the cache and dalvik cache doesn't seem to do any good either, but I had some success.
Firstly I cleared nearby devices cache / data again (whilst I was in the vicinity of my wifi network with wifi turned on on the phone at the time, don't know whether this is important but it seemed to kick things into working for me at least)
The dnla settings became live again, but I noticed my wifi icon was gone even though wifi was turned on on the phone, so I toggled the wifi button and heypresto things started to happen! and was able to see my phone on the PS3 and share files etc.
After I switched off the phone and rebooted (with dnla left in the on position) the dnla app was greyed out again, however a quick trip to wifi settings to toggle on and off again (and also remove some 'remembered' wifi connections that I no longer use) meant the dnla share started working again no problem (and without clearing any near by devices data again).
Hope my experience gives some pointers to others out there to get theirs working!.
Edit 2:
Still getting a grey DNLA inactive screen, but by turning your wifi off and on, on your phone a few times (in range of your wifi network) it seems to jump DNLA into life . . . hope it helps
Edit 3:
Seems that going into advanced settings in wifi (go into wifi settings not just turning it on) and altering the wifi sleep policy seems to correct the issue, I toggled from 'never turn off' to 'turn off', then back on again, and DNLA app seems to work fine now . . ...

i have tried all your recommendations through 3 edits and it does not seem to fix my dlna. i still cannot turn on file sharing without clearing data in applications manager. how do we tell samsung about this. this is the only problem ive been having with my phone so far.
I also wrote some work around here:

It's of course not a solution but maybe it helps a bit.

open the window and wait 5-10 seconds and it starting then Disable content "music","images" and "videos" in the nearby devices settings, and tne next time it works fine!
I've been having this issue since day 1 of getting the phone, took it to store and they couldn't figure it out and said as it's not a fault they couldn't exchange it. For me it was a fault as the main reason I got the phone is to stream media to my TV and the blu ray in living room. Thanks to this thread I am now able to do this, tapped on some of the options several times until a pop up appeared and got it working.
Seem's like a odd bug which I hope Samsung update with the JB update.
Connect to your wireless router with your wifi
then toggle your wifi direct on
go in near by devices and wait until screen come to life (not geyed out)
don't touch the screen while waiting it doesn't help.
it can take a second or two or even a minute or so (keep the screen on by looking at it)
when it light up it's up and running.
DLNA greyed out
FYI:
I found the problem to be related to the number of files (multimedia in general so mp3, jpgs, mp4 etc) on your external SD card: if you have several thousands of pictures and mp3 files like I do on a 32GB or 64GB SD card, it is near impossible for this service to enumerate them without lagging(!). You can see for yourself by simply unmounting the external SD card (settings -> memory -> unmount SD card) and then entering the DLNA sharing: you will see the option turns white after a mere second and you can enable or disable the service rather quickly without problems. Even if you untick the sharing of Video, Images and Music, after mounting the SD card and re-enabling the DLNA sharing service, you will still see the option greyed out. It is trying to enumerate in any case all the MM files on your SD card but takes a hell of a long time before it finishes, becoming white again. Why it is so slow is up to the developers to find out as it shouldn't. I suspect there is a scanning bug somewhere in the enumeration process.
You can enable a debug option which will popup a window if an app is taking a long time to respond or is hanging so you can see what app is causing the problem. You'll see that even after you go back to the main screen once you have selected the DLNA sharing menu (which is greyed out), the phone is sluggish as it is scanning the SD card and after a couple of minutes the warning will popup allowing you to terminate the service or wait until it is finished. You can enable this option in the developer options page, last setting "show all ANR" (or NRA as mine is not in English). I suggest you all to keep this option always enabled as it will give you more insight on what apps are causing your phone to lag and are problematic.
This should be reported to the developers at Samsung or Google/Android as I'm certain it is not a major problem to be fixed.
My S3 has currently build BLH3.
As a side note, unfortunately my popcorn A-110 which has DLNA support, is no longer working with the S3 built in "share" button that pops up in the player (top left): it sees my popcorn but when I try to "export" the song clicking on the button, it just fails to playback. Similarly, when I enable the DLNA sharing, my A-110 sees my S3 but only see the images but it fails to show them. It doesn't even list the songs. This is a fimrware big in the A-110 though (it seems it only lists jpgs and avi files and not mp3 files). My LG P990 does however work with my A-110 correctly playing back songs (though the scanning function is not working) and images. I guess it's time I got a more recent popcorn though it'sa pity as mine work so well for over 3 years.
Anyhow, I hope this shed some light on the matter
Edit: sorry guys, I just read the post by foo - so this one's kind of a double :/

Hi
Yes I think this is main part of the problem.
However I think this part of the problem is caused by a combination of the type of SD card and the mounting of the card.
I was using all the tricks mentioned above then I discovered what you did.
What seems to be causing the SD card problem is the mounting of the card it don’t seem to mount properly (even though the rest of the phone seems to operate fine). I simply unmounted removed card remounted repeated a few time. That seemed the get a more stable mount…..
On some phones I’ve found it necessary to remove SD card contents to a laptop and reformate the SD card in the phone. Again I reformatted the card 2 or 3 time for luck (not in laptop but in the phone). Put contents back on and the phones can now access the SD card without problem…

Yes, I had formatted this SD card on my prior phone (LG P990) though I did not reformat it on this phone. I have had the problem you mention before on other flash devices and it appears the mere disposition of the files in the sdcard/ssd influences access times for certain files depending on where they are (all controllers now write files in random blocks to avoid cell deterioration). This all leads back to the diatribe about defragging or not flash / SSD devices. This really depends on the controller inside the flash device basically. In any case, simply defragging the SD card DOES help, and resolves the laggy access problems most of the time. I will do this on my Sandisk 32GB SD card (again) and see if access times improve and this lag problem improves. On a side note, writing the whole card with a certain hex pattern also helps the access times. I do this regularly on my SSD device on my laptop after I delete/defrag many files. If I don't, it starts lagging like hell after some time.
Cheers

Touch screen not working.
Hi guys. I'm totally new to the android/smart phone world btw. Anyways, I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S2... first thing I noticed, my touch screen wasn't working. I popped the battery in and out and then it started working as it should. My phone was working fine this morning, then all of a sudden out of no where, the touch screen stopped working again. I've tried turning on/off the phone multiple times. I've taken out the battery and even my SIM card nothing... i'm worried. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix? Do i have to go through Samsung? I hope not. Incase anyone asks, I did not root my phone. Any help/feedback would be appreciated.
When the touchscreen stops working... were you charging the phone at that time?
The first time i turned on my phone, was actually by accident and it was charging. However, just earlier now, it was not. it was just sitting on my computer desk. The home button, lock button and touch capacitive buttons work.... but i can't get past the lock screen
you could try a factory reset to see if its software related, but it sounds like hardware. I would definitely Return the phone .
I guess I can't do a factory reset, since I can't get into any of the menus... man this sucks. I spent $900 *gulp*
To do a factory reset, 1. Turn the POWER OFF, pull the battery out and put it back again. 2. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power button 3. If the Samsung Symbol appears, release the Power button 4. A Boot Menu will then show, Use the volume up/down to choose wipe data/factory reset. touch screen not needed this way.
oo that's interesting... I tried it. and it didn't get to a boot menu. maybe I was doing it wrong. I tried a few different ways, but no success. It turns out I have warranty with the store. They're going to replace it for me Thanks for the feedback guys. Awesome forums.
Something similar happened to me yesterday. When I had the in-box USB cable attached to a BoxWave VersaCharger (combined AC/DC charger), and the VersaCharger was plugged into 120V AC, the touchscreen would stop working. As soon as I unplugged the USB cable from the SGS2, or plugged the VersaCharger into a 12V DC lighter socket, the touchscreen would work fine.
I've got the same problem as the OP... I had my phone charging overnight and this morning when I first went to use the phone I could not unlock the screen. I could wake the screen via the home button, and see I had a missed call etc but it just wasn't responding to touch. BTW I can't remember if when I first tried to unlock the phone if it was charging or not but really this shouldn't matter.... oh and btw, I'm not rooted or anything either! Naturally I rebooted the phone but still the same problem....so I tried a battery pull and still the same problem. Just now I did a factory reset but the touch screen still isn't working! I guess this is a hardware problem so I'm going to get it fixed under warranty by Samsung! Gutted that I will likely be without my phone for a week or 2! EDIT, UPDATE... Well, I was just on my way to the repair shop Samsung warranty had told me to take it too, and I took my sim card out to put in my old Hero (the only thing I hadn't tried!) and I couldn't believe it but the touch screen started working fine again! Weird, but that is now my advice if anyone else has a problem with their touch screen not working - oh and I took the sim out whilst the phone was still turned on. Crisis averted! UPDATE 2 Sadly this has happened about 4 times to me now and I'm just waiting for the inevitable next time. Each time doing a factory reset then taking the sim card out seems to bring the screen back to life (though last time not immediately) but I shouldn't have to put up with this. Problem is, I don't want to send off a seemingly perfectly working phone to get repaired as I fear they will struggle to notice the problem, never mind fix it! I'm hoping a new firmware comes out soon, in the hope that it may resolve my issues...
Me as well ... I have had this happen to me twice now (Touchscreen not responding). The first time I had just installed a game and thought it must have been related to that. Pulled the battery and no joy, left it for a while and it came back to life... Second time I was surfing the web and it stopped responding, pulled the battery and left it for maybe a minute but no joy .... pulled the battery again and left it for probably 20min and it came back to life. When it came back up I noticed the livewallpaper had been turned off and my widgets were gone from the homescreen. What I did notice when it wasn't working was it had "safe mode" displayed at the bottom left of the screen
Have the Same Problem Have the same problem i Mine and was super exicedat first it worked fine and after charging the touchscreen stopped working i pulled the battery out and put it back in but no luckso im gonna return mine to the shop hope they replace it Moral:AT FIRST SUPER EXICTED BUT NOW SUPER ANGRY
Same issue - Is there ANY way to save my data before I send it in for repair/replace? Hi all, As of this morning, I have exactly the same issue as the OP. Screen doesn't react to touch, with the exception of the capacitive buttons. I found a dude on YouTube that had the same issue: youtu.be/0oIdllWiV4I The last thing I did with the phone before it started misbehaving was to answer a call. The phone was on the charger when the call came in - I can't recall whether I unplugged it before answering, or after, or at all during the call. Not sure it has any relevance anyway, only mention it because I've seen reports of people's screens no longer reacting to touch when the phone is plugged in to a charger (apparently it even states in the manual that this may happen). Anyway, whilst all my contacts, SMS, photos etc are backed up to the cloud, the same can't be said for my app data. Before I lose hours and hours of progress in various games, or all my settings in numerous other apps, etc, can anyone think of any way to get access to the memory of the phone, bearing in mind the following: I can't connect to Kies to pull a back-up because bluetooth is currently enabled on the phone and when one connects the USB cable, it says "Activating USB mode will deactivate Bluetooth. Continue?" but I can't click the Yes button I can't connect in USB mass storage mode because I can't navigate to the settings menu entry to enable it I can't turn Bluetooth off in order to get Kies working, becuase I can't get to the settings menu or pull down the notification bar to reach the power control. I can't use Voice input to control the device (on the off chance there was a "bluetooth off" voice command) because (presumably with the most recent firmware I flashed via Kies a few weeks back) for some reason Vlingo is no longer the app on the double-home button action. Instead it calls Samsung Voice and wants to walk me through a first use tutorial, but I can't click the next/skip buttons I installed via Android Market push the app belonging to www_remoteaccessphone_com as it promises to be able to remotely switch bluetooth off, but the website says I haven't installed the app yet, presumably because alrhough I was able to install it without touching the phone, it probably needs to be run at least once to set it up, and I obviously can't do that I can't start Kies Air to try and get my data that way (starting it would require using the touch screen) Kies via bluetooth isn't supported on Android Needless to say, the data I'm trying to retrieve is on the internal memory, not the SD card. As you can see I've been trying all sorts of creative things, but I'm fairly sure I'm screwed. Any bright ideas I haven't thought of?

Nandroid Restore So I successfully rooted, used CWM to do a Nandroid backup, mounted the sd_card and saved the contents (including the nandroid backup) to my PC, reflashed the stock rom & kernel, usb-jigged it to get the counter back to zero/original and sent the phone in for repair. My efforts paid off as they repaired it without question under warranty. I just received the phone back and today set about restoring my backup: Copied the sd_card contents I'd saved to my HDD back onto the phone Re-roooted it with Cf-mod. Used CWM to restore the backup I took before sending it in It restored boot/system/data/cache successfully selected reboot now in CWM The result is that it is still missing all my apps. It only seems to have the "data" like my camera shots and SMS messages, system settings like whether bluetooth is on or off, the volume level, Wifi networks etc. So something was restored. But there is no Google Account configured, the lock screen picture is the default not the one I had beforehand, and as I said, all the apps - the main reason I did this whole thing as my personal data is all backed up to the cloud on a regular basis anyway - have not been restored. Am I confused? I thought a nandroid backup took a complete snapshot of everything, apps included. Finding out the list of Apps I had in order to reinstall them is not an issue - I have a list of everything I had installed saved on AppBrain. But if I reinstall the apps, all the settings (or progress in the games) within those freshly installed apps will be back to square one, not where I left them, right? Or should I reinstall the apps and then restore the data partition over the top again?
Are you guys using any type of screen protectors, cause if you are, that may be the issue s their have been reports that the screen becomes unresponsive with certain screen protectors when connected to a charger. However, if you are not using a screen protector, then I would suggest getting the unit replaced as you should not have to do anything, root or otherwise, to get the touchscreen working on a touchscreen phone

Click to collapse Nope, no screen protector or any kind of case for that matter. Anyway, that isn't my issue anymore. The touch-sensitive unit was defective, the phone was repaired under warranty. My issue now is getting my apps & settings back. I have meanwhile read elsewhere that Nandroid doesn't back up the apps - pretty deceptive "backs up everything!" "it is like time travel" etc comments around here then. Anyway, I reinstalled all the apps I had previously, and thought by reapplying the data partition from the nandroid backup it might then bring back the settings for the reinstalled apps. Instead all it did was remove all those apps again - now I am really confused. How come the restore DOESN'T bring back the apps I used to have, but DOES remove the ones I subsequently install. Does Nandroid touch the apps or doesn't it?
Touch screen not working So i am having a very peculiar problem related to the GT-I9100 Touch Screen. I bought the phone from Saudi Arabia and I live in Bangladesh at the moment. So for now I don't have warranty. I bought it on 4th of this month. It had 2.3.3. So I updated it to 2.3.5. I did not use the phone much before that so I don't know if this problem was there before. So here is the problem. First time I noticed it when i pulled the phone from my pocket and could not unlock the pattern. First I thought I forgot the pattern. After sometime I noticed that i could not touch the buttons. I was dragging my finger over the points but there was no connecting line. I restarted the set. But it still did not work. After sometime I took the battery out. And after that it started normally and unlocked. And the touchscreen is totally fine. I tested it using *#0*#. And every single point in the screen registers touch. After that this happened couple of times. First couple of days I thought it was a pattern unlock problem. But i tried PIN and Password even using no unlock. It happened in every case. So after couple of days it totally stopped happening. But from yesterday it is happening again. And today it happened 3 times. So today as I had no unlock protocol i tried tapping Home twice. As this brings on the voice command menu. And for the first time i was in the phone without touching the screen. And first i noticed the Menu and Back Soft keys works. And the touchscreen still does not work. And i noticed some thing weird. Always some thing in the screen is Selected. In Menu the + Icon is selected. In first screen the Map icon is selected. Also in Recent Apps the first App is selected. So after a lot of reboots it is back to normal again. Now i see something interesting. In the Battery Usage Graph i can see some really sharp drops. 3 times. Looks like when this happens phones charge takes a nose dive. So here is the Gist. Info related the Problem: 1. Usually happens when the phone is my pant pocket for sometime. It does not happen if it is sitting on the table. 2. Touchscreen gets totally disabled. 3. I have no idea why this happens. The exact reason behind it. 4. Battery Charge takes a nose dive when this happens. See the attached images. 5. I still don't know how to bring it back. Sometimes a simple reboot works. Sometimes I have to pull the battery. And sometimes it works on its own. 6. Every other function of the phone works. Like music playback using my UE 200vi music keys using PowerAMP, Siri(Android version), Call can be received using headset. Battery nose Dive: dl.dropbox.com/u/30943431/SC20111115-203017.png dl.dropbox.com/u/30943431/SC20111116-202913.png Also the selection dl.dropbox.com/u/30943431/SC20111116-202146.png So this is the thing. My biggest problem right now is, I don't know why it happens and I don't know how to bring it back from this situation. If I knew I could make sure I don't get it again or I would just fix it every-time. As when this happens I cant make calls or anything which requires the touchscreen. So guys help me if you can by giving ideas. As i will not go back to KSA in 6 months. So buying a $550 phone unlocked was a total waste. As i cant use it here. Thanks a million in advance. ---------- Post added at 09:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:13 PM ---------- Sorry for this. But looks like i cant post outside links before i have 8 posts. i ve used the nearby devices menu(dlna) a couple of times with no problem! now whenever i access it all the options are greyed and i can't use them! the 1st option is enable/disable dlna and it is greyed and untouchable too! in the gallery app i can find my 'nearby' pc, so no problem there! the problem is that i can't find my phone from the tv as i used to do... i have a stock galaxy s3 i9300 latest firmware(with otg updates) i had allshare app disabled but i don't think the problem is there (i had it re enabled it and restarted my phone trying to solve the problem with no luck) plz help
Same here. Gonna look around for the problem. Let me know or versa if found. Sent using Galaxy S3 i9300 Frying Pans!!! Who knew?!!!
I have the problem as well since the latest firmware (BLG8). I have a 64 GByte storage card and it's loaded with music and videos. I think the behavior of "nearby devices" was changed with the last FW: I think it searches the external SD card before the options for "nearby devices" get enabled. As long as the search continues all options will stay gray. If you have too many files on the storage card, the search will take "forever" (or a timeout may cancel the search?) So what I did to enable at least video sharing (I don't require "nearby devices" for music) 1) Unmount the SD card 2) Go to nearby devices, all options will be enabled and selectable at once 3) Disable content "music" and "images" in the nearby devices settings 4) Mount SD card again Depending on the amount of videos left on your storage card, you might have to wait for 10, maybe 30 seconds until the options will get enabled.
solved Go to application manager -> all apps -> nearby devices and clear everything!
[Q] Full storage killed Wi-Fi, looking for way to reset [SOLVED]
Greetings, I have an HTC Desire running CM7 (Android 2.3.7). Earlier today I was toggling the Wi-Fi and deleting one entry from my remembered networks. At this time, the internal storage was apparently filled to the brim (~30KB left). I don't know if this is what caused it to go haywire but anyway, Wi-Fi is completely broken now. When I turn it on, it stalls for about 20 seconds (causing crashes in all applications that try to use Wi-Fi) and then it turns itself off again. The Wi-Fi icon never appears in the top bar, so it seems like it just cannot initialize it. My remembered networks list is also empty now. My best guess would be that the full storage at the time caused corruption or inconsistency in the Wi-Fi configuration. So I'm looking for a way to reset the Wi-Fi (preferably nothing else) or just solve my problem in any way. Oh yeah and the command line doesn't scare me. Thank you for your time. EDIT: Message to people from the future having the same problem: I managed to solve my problem by removing the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf using the app Root Browser. If you are going to try this I highly suggest renaming the file, just in case.
Z5 Compact - Slow USB file access on Windows 10
On two different Windows 10 computers at home, I've had a bit of struggle trying to access the storage on my Z5C (running Nougat .376 UK firmware). I was trying to copy over some new music to the 200GB Sandisk microSD card, but Windows would continually hang and eventually give up even on just browsing folders. I could unplug the phone and try again but with no success. I popped out the microSD card and put it in an adapter and there wasn't any issue copying files over. Anyone else ever notice Windows having difficulties accessing files on the phone? For what it's worth, I've almost always done firmware updates via Xperia Companion over USB without any problems, so it seems to be specifically related to file transfer/browsing.

Click to collapse make sure the screen doesn't turn off, enable developer options and check do not turn off display on charge (i feel like MTP gets capped out at 20MB/s or something....from external SD --> internal bus rate??) for really really big transfers 8GB+, I usually remove my SD and use the SD reader, it should be OK if you have a good USB reader that can read the full speed of your card.
Sounds like a new USB cord is needed. NeoBeum this is not really required to transfer files *make sure the screen doesn't turn off, enable developer options and check do not turn off display on charge*
genuine? try sd insight from play store see if ur sdcard is genuine
To all: Is there a reason why not allowing the screen to sleep would help with file transfer speed back to a PC? I've tried a couple different USB cables with similar results. Card is genuine and as mentioned it transfers at full speed when using a SD card adapter and plugging in directly to the PC.

Click to collapse & @doclloyd not really, no (don't really need to enable always on screen), but if some users have problems, i just recommend to do that so they can walk away from the tx, and come back without the screen turning off the z5c has a tendency to temporarily turn off MTP when the display sleeps, you'll be able to tell, because the files on the PC - will contain 0 data, but still appear in the destination at the moment i'm looking at MTP Host and the other USB services on the phone to see if it will behave better with battery optimisation disabled edit: if the phone locks @ sleep, it will disable MTP, I have never successfully transferred while my phone locks itself, smartlock can be another workaround for this, unlock with PC

Can't get info off Alcatel Streak w/SD formatted as internal storage
Okay, urgency low, but curiosity high. I have an Alcatel Streak - please don't laugh, it was free - and I decided to try formatting the SD card as internal storage. Kind of an experiment to see how it would work. Played with it for a few months then left the country for a year & a half. Getting ready to return, so got out my Streak (which is still locked to Cricket, cheap & fast & easy) and ran into a memory problem. I should mention that it always seemed to have a problem shutting off. You could shut it off but come back a few days later and discover it was back on and your battery was almost dead. Probably not related but who knows. Anyway, so it said it couldn't update because my memory was full. It took me to the app page. Oh well, so I uninstalled about 1.8 Gigs of apps, but the available storage never increased and the message kept coming on. Okay, so maybe a fresh start. I'll just take off all my stuff (not much) off and transfer it to my hard drive. I plugged it in but it never showed up in explorer. Not in Windows or Linux. Tried updating drivers, etc, but no luck. No problem, I'll just take the SD card out & plug it into my PC directly. But neither Windows nor Linux could see anything on the card, a result of formating it for internal storage from what I've read. Hmmm, okay, I'll use Bluetooth. Great, connected to one of my other phones no problem. Sent files and ... nothing. Couldn't send or receive anything via Bluetooth. Okay, try it with the computer. Still no luck, Windows or Linux. Okay let's try this WiFi Direct thing .... yeah you guessed it, nothing. Alright, I know, I'll share them to Google Drive! Ha! But the joke was on me. After only a few hundred megabytes transfered, an error. Phone storage is full, please clear out some space. Now Settings won't do anything but take me to that message. So... we need phone storage just to upload to Google Drive? Okay, maybe it stores everything in a temp folder first. A temp folder smartly located only in system storage which cannot be moved to SD or internal storage. So, any ideas as to how to get any info off that phone? Nothing major so if it can't be done I'll live, but I'm very curious as to why nothing wants to come off that phone. Weird. I am out of ideas here.... Thanks for reading and any help you can provide. PS. To clarify, on plugging it into the computer, usually my phones display a message, I can tap the notification and choose charging, transfer files, sync pictures, internet access, whatever. But that option never appears on the Alcatel Streak phone, it just charges. The cable and USB ports work fine as all other phones show up. If there are any other things I need to clarify, please just let me know, thanks!!
