HI ALL,
Im in South Africa with 4.0.4 XWLPO firmware and just got a push notification for software Update. Anyone on the same firmware got the same?
Presumably a load of other South Africans. Why?
Lol yeah dont need to make a whole new thread cus you got a update :/
The update is only 9MB and doesn't wanna install OTA. Will sit it out on kies to see if it updates. But I know SA is not getting 4.0.4 our country sucketh candle sticks when it comes to firmware updates. And they ask why we install unbranded firmware...
Warranty is Pointless in SA is my answer.

LPO was removed from official releases due to missing local search and probably other mistakes, so I would recommend to update it.

Hello, I just got my phone and it's AWESOME. hehe. But I went into the menu and I can't seem to figure out what build this is:
It's KE1, right? I plugged it into Kies and it says that it's the most up to date version. How is that possible? Everyone here has KE2 and KE7. I don't want to root it or anything like that, though. I just got it an hour ago hehe.
Any ideas?
I'm on Vodafone Spain.

KE1 must be the latest version for your region. Your network probably hasn't release a update if your phone is branded.

It is branded. But that's strange that the phone was JUST released, I have the first batch of them, and it doesn't even have the latest version of the OS. Some people are claiming their phones are coming with KE7, I'm sure it's a regional thing. But that's a big jump from KE1 to KE7.
Could anyone from Vodafone UK tell me what your updated version of the OS is? In theory, it should be the same as yours!
Yes my phone came with KE7. It was the May 26th shipping UK batch.

Damn. Well I guess I have to wait.
Or do I? Is there a way to update within vodafone branded phone?
Or where can I download this exact firmware? I wouldn't mind flashing it with this version again!
Thanks in advance again.

Just debrand and u'll get all the latest updates
Yeah but I don't want to void my warranty. Its far too soon to void it. Haha. I know there is a way to make it look like it was never voided but still. I don't want to root just yet.
Thanks anyways.

Hello
My cousin had a SII and he always ask me about the ICS update. It is not available OTA. Did Samsung had any road map for ICS? My region in Middle East. Anybody know when ICS is coming to Middle East?

I think it was already released. I believe you have to use the Samsung kies software on a PC to update the phone.

Yes, I checked firmware at SamMobile. They didn't wrote the version of firmware but firmware codes match. I guess it GB 2.3.5. Anyways thanks all. and if anybody know the timeline for ICS in different regions, please share.

No this is the one latest available in the middle east....2.3.5 JPKJ2 Not ICS....
Yep, Middle east latest firmware is still Gingerbread JPKJ2 (2.3.5).
Just wait and watch. Hope it won't take much time.
you can ask ur cousin to try custom ics rom roms available here on xda. they are stable and fast. only if he has his phone rooted. rooted phone has its own benefits.. nice tweaks and customization.
just use odin and flash away............. odin with official Firmware of different region is as official as its on KIES for that region

As long as you have an i9100, and not an i9100G, sure. You can use an i9100 firmware from whatever region you want. But once you do, just be aware that you will probably no longer be able to get updates through Kies.
For example, I'm in the US, but my phone originally came from the UK, and it's now currently running a firmware from Poland.

If You Are on 3 network in Ireland/England then please reply.
I've read that some ppl on 3 network have gotten s3 updates already and im still on the stock update, does anyone know about the release dates for the updates on 3?
Are you still running the stock firmware or have you rooted your device? For reference, if it's rooted, you will no longer receive OTA updates and will have to install them yourself.

Call Three. They are a bit notorious for slow sendout of OTA updates.

So here latest version for my s3 firmware is XXBLFB.
But i see that in reality, latest verion is XXGxx.
So, my question->
Is it possible for me to upgrade to XXGxx?
If yes, how?
Thanks in advance.

"US" XXgxx firmware. What's "US" in it? Yes you can use firmwares from other regions. I am using Lg9 right now from singapore in india. The only disadvantage I see is that India is not listed under country list in yahoo news. This would apply to european builds too.
XX - european, DX - Singapore region, DD - Indian subcontinent.

OTA or KIES updates depend upon the phone codes you present to the server and also the firmware for those codes actually uploaded to the server .
Your phone latest firmware is LFB that's the reality other providers may have older or newer firmware .
JB probability is Europe first but thats just a guess until its released .
You want to use US firmware please be aware and read the sticky at the top of the page that flashing firmware for a US phone that is not Internationale I9300 will brick your phone .

I thought it was out in UK i'm not %100 sure though
From what Google says its been halted in the UK to iron out serious bugs

Why is everyone so excited abt 4.3 ota? Wait for a week after it is released. Search google. If there isnt any bugs. Then install it.
