Hi all
I live in India.
So here latest version for my s3 firmware is XXBLFB.
But i see that in reality, latest verion is XXGxx.
So, my question->
Is it possible for me to upgrade to XXGxx?
If yes, how?
Thanks in advance.
Either you can try flashing latest firmware manually or wait for the ota update

"US" XXgxx firmware. What's "US" in it? Yes you can use firmwares from other regions. I am using Lg9 right now from singapore in india. The only disadvantage I see is that India is not listed under country list in yahoo news. This would apply to european builds too.
XX - european, DX - Singapore region, DD - Indian subcontinent.

OTA or KIES updates depend upon the phone codes you present to the server and also the firmware for those codes actually uploaded to the server .
Your phone latest firmware is LFB that's the reality other providers may have older or newer firmware .
JB probability is Europe first but thats just a guess until its released .
You want to use US firmware please be aware and read the sticky at the top of the page that flashing firmware for a US phone that is not Internationale I9300 will brick your phone .

Each time I connect to kies, it states my sgs2 is up to date, 2.3.3, but I read everywhere on here that your all using 2.3.4, am I doing something wrong
They all are using a version of leaked 2.3.4, which has this and that problem here and there. If you can't wait join them by flashing any 2.3.4 firmware via Odin or if you are in my club then wait for the official release which could be coming any time.
Regards.
You can wait i have tried 2.3.4 only gtalk with video. nothing speacial!
Oh ok, will wait, thanks for the info

How did you get GTalk with video, I just flashed KH3 and my GTalk is still 1.3, no update in the arket and no video support. WTF?
How can I know if there is official europe region 2.3.4. android version for SGS2 or not?
Many of android sites states they have official versions which can be downloaded and installed using odin. Are these available 2.3.4. versions leaked or there are already available for some countries official 2.3.4.? Like me I live in Latvia and there is not available firmware upgrade via kies. but maybe for such large countries like Germany maybe there already is official 2.3.4. And that version then is installed using odin. Am I right or not? Please clarify.

No you are not right .
Official Leaked Samsung firmware is 2.3.4 .
Stock Roms .and csc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
KIES updates as and when its receives an update from the phone provider .
Nothing to do with the size of the country Latvia should come under Europe firmware release . Its more dependent upon the phone provider .
jje
Guys are you able to do OTA updates without a PC at all?
Maybe why Europe is last to get v2.3.4 , Samsung is busy changing the gallery app.
Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 update is Rolling out NOW (Daily Updated) | Josephws'sBlog | YouMobile
Some areas have gotten KG5 or KG7 2.3.4 roms (both very much like KG6), but not globally, I would bet a lot of it is carriers taking there sweet time.

Yes, and they have to approve the updates to be pushed out via kies.
I got an official update to 2.3.4 from kies, yet i dont have Video Support in Talk... anyone having this problem?
Hi, i got the 2.3.4 update from kies about two weeks ago but i was wondering if anyone has seen any difference since i dont see any, its suppose that my talk should have
Video support yet i dont have i did get a new market but not with the firmware update
Anyone has had the same experience
I found the battery life much improved on 2.3.4. Worth getting an unofficial update in my opinion - kies is hopeless.

Hello
My cousin had a SII and he always ask me about the ICS update. It is not available OTA. Did Samsung had any road map for ICS? My region in Middle East. Anybody know when ICS is coming to Middle East?

I think it was already released. I believe you have to use the Samsung kies software on a PC to update the phone.

Yes, I checked firmware at SamMobile. They didn't wrote the version of firmware but firmware codes match. I guess it GB 2.3.5. Anyways thanks all. and if anybody know the timeline for ICS in different regions, please share.

No this is the one latest available in the middle east....2.3.5 JPKJ2 Not ICS....
Yep, Middle east latest firmware is still Gingerbread JPKJ2 (2.3.5).
Just wait and watch. Hope it won't take much time.
you can ask ur cousin to try custom ics rom roms available here on xda. they are stable and fast. only if he has his phone rooted. rooted phone has its own benefits.. nice tweaks and customization.
just use odin and flash away............. odin with official Firmware of different region is as official as its on KIES for that region

As long as you have an i9100, and not an i9100G, sure. You can use an i9100 firmware from whatever region you want. But once you do, just be aware that you will probably no longer be able to get updates through Kies.
For example, I'm in the US, but my phone originally came from the UK, and it's now currently running a firmware from Poland.

HI ALL,
Im in South Africa with 4.0.4 XWLPO firmware and just got a push notification for software Update. Anyone on the same firmware got the same?
Presumably a load of other South Africans. Why?
Lol yeah dont need to make a whole new thread cus you got a update :/
The update is only 9MB and doesn't wanna install OTA. Will sit it out on kies to see if it updates. But I know SA is not getting 4.0.4 our country sucketh candle sticks when it comes to firmware updates. And they ask why we install unbranded firmware...
Warranty is Pointless in SA is my answer.

LPO was removed from official releases due to missing local search and probably other mistakes, so I would recommend to update it.

Hi
I have an SG3 unlocked and I rooted it. Baseband I9300XXLF5, Build IMM76D.I9300XXALF6
I haven't received any update and from Kies it show no firmware update availabel. Is it because I have a rooted device?
I checked in SamMobile but I don't understand which firmare or how I should download.
Alex
You can search firmwares by country/region.

I am also a bit confused with the number of firmware out there and wondering which is the latest. The only thing I know is the leaked JB firmware XXDLH4 > XXDLH6 and now the XXDLH7. Its easy to see which is newer but on the original firmware, so many different code and its just confusing

Regarding firmware based on region, I am from Blackberry. Its often ok or should I say OK to download firmware from other service provider as long the phone is the same model. Sometimes, your region or provider may not update their firmware so installing other provider's / region's firmware will actually be better. Some regions just seems to update their firmware much faster than others and providing improvements and fixes faster than others.

I will try using the Britain file.
Now that I am rooted of I need to update when JB comes out do I need to unroot?
The unroot process I've seen on YouTube imply a total wipe of the phone. A real hassle.
Any alternative?
Firmware is PDA not CSC.
Dev section Chainfires CF Root no wipe.

Hello!
My friend's I9300 is still stuck on Android 4.0.4 build number IMM76D.I9300JKBLH3.
I want to flash him an updated version using ODIN. I want it to be from the country that get updates the fastest, so he would always be updated as he don't know how to use ODIN, and he is afraid.
So, what is the best build to flash right now?
He needs Hebrew to be available for the stock keyboard. No need for full UI translation.
Thanks!
No country gets fastest update .
All you can say is Europe generally in front of the rest of the world .
Exact roll out varies .
Hebrew would be your first item for a firmware version .

I mean first to be released, and not fast as Google...
So any European version will be good? Which one would you recommend?
Thanks!
There is not faster countries than other, but in general Europe countries get updates first.
Any country will be good.
Im using 4.1.2 from Israel (PDA:I9300XXELL4 CSC:I9300OJKELK9)
Poland was the first one to release Jellybean (4.1.1)
But wasn't the first one to release 4.1.2
Is your friend from Israel too?
Cause Israel already released 4.1.2
For several phone companies

Why laggy? They are 3 Versions: 1 for unbranded and 2 for branded phones.
I think they all both the same. The difference are only the branded apps.
Please correct me if i did something wrong
