Hi, I have bought asphalt 7 and for the most part I'm impressed with its graphics and game play, however on certain tracks its kind of laggy.
I know some games aren't optimized for Android half as much as they are for ios Mostly due to the fact that there is so much hardware that Android runs on, but has anyone seriously got this game running well on their sgs3?
I'm running fox hound 1.43 using siyah kernel @1.4ghz. Governor is on demand. I'll try some others and update this post but at the moment it's laggy on London and another level where you drive through a building (not sure on its name)
If anyone has any tweaks and or tips on getting the most notable difference of performance out of this game then let men know please.
Cheers.

Try another ROM like DragonICS or Criskel ... and notice the difference!
I was gonna say, you cant really complain about the performance of a piece of software on any device if you are not running stock software.

Hi,
Humm... Just use the defaut governor optimized for a quad core: pegasusq...

Why are you using ondemand when it is NOT optimised for a quad core phone, pegasusq is the best governor available to us, its one thing that Samsung have done really well!

Omega is a great rom but towards the end of 9 i was getting lag's so i switched to foxhound and it's been very good indeed, it's only since i've noticed this lag on one game that i've debated changing rom's, personally i think that the developers of android games should work bloody harder, it's just like the pc / console war all over again, and i'm on the PC side of that too.

Yes The Team Whiskey-/ Dragon and some of the Eugene kernels can over clock very well I had one 1.45 The problem with o.c is the battery drain

It could just mean that the developers of Nexus S put a higher voltage at the higher clock speed, which also means that it kills your phone faster.
You don't gain something from nothing. Oh and I am not talking about battery life....

A newer device with (in all likelihood...this is a guess based on decades of experience with CPU's) a newer revision stepping of the Hummingbird CPU. CPU/GPU manufacturers are ALWAYS fine tuning their designs, primarily for higher yields and better stability. This plays out predictably in the desktop x86 environment with concepts like speed-binning and overclocking in that arena, so it should come as no surprise that this plays out in other areas as well.
Newer board layout with design experience gleaned from manufacturing a few million Galaxy S devices? Reduced capacitance and resistance issues due to layout changes, altering of support components, changing trace lengths...etc, so on and so forth. All of these things can play out for significant and measurable improvements in stability. Manufacturers learn as they "do", the same as we do.
In other words, there are all sorts of easily plausible reasons why.
These sorts of things all have a significant effect in the desktop/laptop system world, so there is no reason to assume they wouldn't carry over to the smartphone universe.
Hi
I tried to OC'ed my Touchpad 32Gb using the Beta Feed to 1.7Ghz, but it seems laggy sometimes. Is it because of the feed? Should I remove it and use only the stable feed?
Thanks
I'm using kernel Warthog and F4 (both are beta feeds) and they are very stable for me. Did you install all the patchs from Preware?
Hey I wanna know Which kernel is best for battery? I use Ctrlondemand in Preware. And I run it 1.5. What do you think? Best battery and performance kernel? What is it? Thanks for answer
Best battery would be to under clock the processor lol as for speed, uninstall your kernel and download f4, I had another one that would only use one core of the processor, phantom uses both.

That is an indication that you didn't disable your previous Govnah profile before switching kernels, or that you are using an alpha kernel for which Govnah has not yet been updated to support (that's one reason why you shouldn't use alpha kernels unless you know what you are doing and can control it from the command line).
Every webOS TouchPad custom kernel has always overclocked both cores.
You don't want the second core running unless it is required. You don't keep your engine idling at 7000RPM when you're sitting at the traffic lights.
-- Rod
Maybe it was alpha, I got it before preware switched. anyway, the one i'm currently using seems to be stable, thanks for the info i'm trying to learn as much as I can in my spare time but I am still a noob

Not every chip is the same. You probably have some settings that you may have missed, and if not just uninstall it and play it normally.
Or, you can try a new rom.
Try clearing up cache and ram before starting teh game. Also did you try to o/c ur phone? It might help .

Where did you get that bull**** from? Nvidia? A CPU or GPU for that matter is NOT designed for gaming even if Nvidia tries to make everyone believe that. A processor interprets and executes commands, regardless of what they are for. Some are faster, others are better at multitasking, others have more commands. However it's safe to say that according to most OpenGL benchmarks Exynos shows Tegra3 it's place.
Also did you try to o/c ur phone? It might help .

Never read so much BS in such a short time.
On my Galaxy s3 (int. edition) the games runs f*cking awesome without any lags on max graphic settings. Tegra3 is inefficient and only kinda comparable to the exynos4 chipset.
@topic starter.
I think the problem is the rom, maybe there are some special tweaks, that affect the gameplay experience on your phone in a negative way.
I play on GL8 Off. Rom, only rooted and some useless apps deactivated, without OC or stuff like that. Runs awesome, just like it should.
I would say, try another good rom, with better gaming reputation.
cheers

Maybe is the system problem, or some hack may cause the device to hang.

May i... You have to enable wallpaper quick render in your launcher settings to eleminate the lagg in cm
Settings > launcher > wallpaper quick render > enable.
Oc your tablet to 1400 Mhz in performance settings.
Performance settings are hidden, you can unhide them if you go to 'about tablet' settings and tap 7 times.. I think... On the build number,
But from my experience is that you don't need so much power so i stay on 1000-1200 Mhz unless i watch video's
The lagg should be pretty much over.

1. Yes, that's already been enabled by default.
2. I'm over clocked to 1.2. I guess I'll try OCing to 1.4.
The lag is not in the homscreen per se, it's more throughout the OS. Lockscreen, notifications, apps etc.

Maybe its a ROM issue? I'm not running official cm currently, so idk whether it's smooth or not. Try ganbarou or infamous aokp. Both are great ROMs.

He said he's not running official cm but i do :d well... The galaxy tab is way older than the google nexus, remember that this was one of the first decent tablets on the market 2 and a half years back, comparing a nexus with a gtab is like comparing a mouse with an elephant i think the 'lagg' what you mean is the 'lagg' what everyone has, ofcourse the gtab is slower than a nexus, but the gtab is terrible on a stock ROM, since CM, the tab has never been so fast, it can't compete to a nexus, but it can with alot of new devices out there with cm or cm based ROMs out there. And it's not like the tab hangs every 5 seconds like in stock

I've experienced the same thing. Mine is rooted on CM 10.1 nightly from a few weeks back. Even when I was religiously updating on the nightlies it is still very laggy. 2-3 seconds for the soft keyboard to come on or go away, 2-3 seconds for apps to even think about loading, choppy transitions. It is extremely noticeable and frustrating.

Quite frankly, I sometimes also have this lag issue, no matter what ROM I've tried, how many full wipes I make, still very lag. Weird thing is that for me it will go away after a few days.

I use system cleaner's widget, once i experience lagg, i click on the widgets and it,s over again, i know task killers are propaganda, but it helps for a short amount of time, anyway' it's not hard to click on a widget for a second

I use adrenaline boost when my tab gets laggy. It drops the caches so you can get more ram when needed(very useful for gamers like me ). But in these few days of weird lag, nothing helps, even installing tweaks and mods.

Hi Guys, I was wondering which ROM has the highest benchmark scores?
Or maybe some specific ROM with different Kernel or whatever.
Post your scores and give us your opinions

Well I can't even chime in....p4 WiFi....but if you're want to know what I get the best scores with..its 4.2 ROMs...Even though, the 4.3 ROM I'm running now is much faster feeling... I think it has to do with the write spread to sdcard . It test goofy ...and if I'm honest. Its a little slower installing on 4.3. But the ROM itself is much faster.
Benchmarks don't mean anything. If the ROM feels good, then its good.

My actual experience of any ROM is the benchmark score that I appreciate! For me, 4.3 leaves 4.x.2 way behind in the shade. It does not matter to me what score any benchmark app churns out!
Cheers.

Your words confuse me.
First, you said that benchmark scores matter right? Then you said benchmarks doesn't matter? Sorry, my Malaysian English sucks.

Simply put: my benchmark score is my experience of the ROM. If the ROM is fast, smooth and stable like the 4.3 ROMs I have experienced, then I score the ROM high For me it does not matter if an app scores the ROM low. I have therefore scored 4.3 very high. Whether an app scores 4.3 low or not means nothing to me. I DO THE BENCHMARK SCORING FOR MYSELF. Compared to 4.x.2, my benchmark for 4.3 is definitely higher. I am sure you get my drift now.
Cheers.
