Hi All
With all the various Root methods & ICS flavors my 66Y/O brain is a bit overwhelmed.
So!
What is the GoTo root method for a new Razr Maxx with ICS out of the box?
TIA

Matt's utility V1.81 which can be found here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-hacks/216562-droid-razr-utility-1-8-a.html
Also the best for restoring/fastbooting back to stock.

I have the Canadian GSM RAZR and also updated to 2.3.6 while in root. What should I do? Can I unroot and then root again or should I just root? I still have superuser but it's useless.
Thanks
I have owned the droid razr for some time now and I have a question.
I just rooted my droid razr with ICS and I was curious what applications I could remove without affecting the overal stability of the phone?
I would like to clear all the bloatware from VZW and Moto.
Any responses would be awesome.
Thanks,
Douglas

hI know this is off topic, but How did you root
I tried following all the directions I saw in various forums for the casual root method and the doomlord method for ICS, but I keep getting permission denied errors during the process. Can you point me to the instructions you used?

Its actually very simple. There is a .zip called root404.zip
Download that and unzip the contents and then run the .bat in it. Also, make sure u have the latest drivers. Just install the drivers provided in the .zip.
All the best.
What PC do u have? I mean config...

I apologize if this has been asked b4 but I am looking for the least likely to mess up root method for my wifes droid razr. I am very new to rooting and successfully rooted my droid 4 with the droid4 utility. Please point me in the direction for something similar for the razr

Worked Like a Charm
Dec 13, 2013 - Worked like a charm on my XT912 AFTER I downloaded latest drivers from motorola and updated them on my PC. (wasn't working at first).
Try googling Matts Utility for Droid razr Jellybean. I would post the link but I'm not allowed to yet. It's a one click, easy method of rooting and restoring your phone if it breaks.
I also used Matt's utility. It was very user friendly.
So I have seen numerous threads here on how to install a ROM to upgrade to 4.1.2, but I am not sure how to begin if my phone is already running that software. How would I root the phone?
Use Matt's utility.
