Hi,
Has anyone ported the Backup and Restore app that came with Xperia Mini phones for ICS?
I am unable to restore the backups in ICS, that where take in CM7 using same app.
It gives me same old "unable to read file error", i tried to the old trick of replacing the Deskclock.apk, but that doesnt help, its stuck at same place. i guess some modification has to be done to native Deskclock.apk to ensure Backup and Restore works.
I'm looking for this too....
Here is an ICS Rom that includes backup and restore app. Maybe you can rip it from there and make it work, or install that ROM (If you've got a x10mini-pro)
Now x10 mini also have the rom wt backup and restore. Checkout ArcMini ICS rom by Pranav at x10 mini android forum

Yeah, I tried to restore in many ways: app, app+data, create update.zip etc. but not working, and unfortunately, I also cannot use phone call afterthat So I decided to flash it back to stock rom.
Thanks for your support, mate

1) Yes you need to, but if you want to root again flash the .42 and do an update over the air (ota updates only on locked bootloader!)
2) Try it without, if you can start it and everything works, it's great :good:
3) Yes you will loose root and you have to root again.
I recommend doing a nandroid backup using cwm first and backing up all apps using Titanium Backup to restore them if you can't keep your data

1. Yes
2. Some ics apps are not compatible with gb, backup sms, call log, contacts. So yes, you need
3. Yes, and not all gb firmware can be rooted.
Flash rootable gb firmware, root it, install cwm, and upgrade to latest gb via ota if you want.
