Cyanogenmod Xperia S problem - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, I have problem with cm9, when I flash rom and grappe then flash boot.img. I starting phone I have logo free xperia logo then recovery then logo free xperia and nothing more. Please help me.

for first installation you must format system, data, Cache and then Remount the Partititions (in CWM under Mounts and storage)
if you are finish with instal CM9 you must remount the Partititions again and then Flash gapps
it will not work with the CM9 kernel, because the Recovery is a bit broken
my way was: flash any kernel with full working recovery (does not care witch one)
than format and install all things
and then reboot
its not needet to reflash the Kernal again because the kernel is in the CM9 Zipfile and will flash automaticly

[Q] 2.3.5 with KI3 . Unable to install CM7

Hi,
Currently using latest firmware KI3 with root.
I'm able to use CWM, backup, install zips, everything.
However, if i install a ROM trough a ZIP, i get a boot loop.
Only way to get back the phone, it's to install via ODIN with latest KI3.
Even tried with Litening Rom, and got the boot loop.
Any ideas ?
I was very keen to return to CM7.
Tx in advance.
Did you exactly what's mentioned here?
Install via ClockworkMod (do not use ROMManager for initial install):
Make sure you're running a rooted device.
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1118693)
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition) - do it for real.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do not reboot! We mean it - do nothing except choose zip and continue next step (if you come back to us with permission issues in install, we will know you did not read the directions and will call you an idiot). If it just plain hangs, reboot directly back into ClockworkMod recovery and continue at the next step.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery, again (due to a bug in the install).
Reboot
Install the Google Addon through ROMManager which is easiest, but you can
download the gapps.zip and install via ClockworkMod recovery instead.

Did you try flashing a old stock ROM like KH3, root it then try from this base?
I went from Villain ROM 2.3.5 to CyanogenMOD without any problems.
It's essential that you flash CyanogenMOD !TWICE! in a row when you're coming from a stock ROM.
Thanks.
Gonna check, as soon as i'm @ 127.0.0.1
Same behaviour, back to boot loop.
Tanx anyway!
I had a similar problem so here goes my help.
Cf root kernel uses a modified version of CWM that isn't compatible with CM7 or something like that. So what I did was flash this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693. Get the kernel with CWM 5.x.y.z With that I got a compatible version of CWM and from there I flashed CM7. It is important that you do a full wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format \system, everything so you don't get any trouble. THen you flash the CM7 zip file, when tha t is done, flash the zip again for a second time (don't reboot just do it after the first flash). After that reboot. That worked for me at least.
A tip: If you can't reboot your phone and you have no ROM zip file to flash via CWM you can mount usb storage from CWM for putting the ROM in sd card and flash with CWM. That way you don't have to use ODIN to recover.
Tanx Tomas.
Tried with CWM 5.x.y.z and upon "WIPE" always got an error for mounting partitions.
Could't mount CACHE, SDCARD .....
Tx anyway.
Back to ODIN, back to stock 2.3.5
PS : I have to get a JIG to reset ...

Custom Rom Installing Problem

I'm trying to install a KA07 Xperia SSpeed Rom.
But i stuck at boot animation.
What i did?
Unlocked the Bootloader.
Flashed Xperia S .76 FTF.(It is booting).
Then flashed the Advance stock kernel form DOOMLord.
Booted into .76 FW,its working.
Then Rebooted into recovery.
Wiped Dlavik Cache.
Wiped Factory Reset.
Installed KA07_Xperia_SSpeed.zip
But it stuck at boot animation.
Why?
hello (and sorry for my bad english)
try this (that's what i do and it's ok) :
-flash76 ftf with flashtool and reboot for a while (10mn, try if all is ok)
- flash 76 preroot with fastboot and reboot for a while...
- install doom kernel (v1a, wifi modules, etc...v4a...aroma..) and boot for a while
-boot in doom recovery for wipe dalvik cache and install ka07 with aroma...
-boot for a while, try the rom,
-boot in recovery and format cache, wipe dalvik
I have done this and , for my phone, all is ok...
I have read some people have installed first the ka6 then ka7...
I wish it can help you...

Xperia x8 Custom ROM

I installed Shin Engine v3 and SE V5 but both dont worked. I followed that steps:
"Installation
Download Rom and copy to Sd card
Reboot into CWM Recovery
enter Mount and Storage -> /format system
Wipe data/factory reset -> Wipe cache partition enter Advance -> /wipe dalvik cache /wipe battery stats
Flash ROM = wait until finish
Reboot. Done". That you can get it here. "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551522"
I unlock root and bootloader, installed nAa 11 Kernel.
Then after I install the rom I reboot and then the cellphone keep rebooting infinitely.
What can I do?
Flash Alfs v08a CM7 no FPS cap version(optional, but always working+better performance). I tried these ROMs and they worked. However, if you use an ICS ROM like ShinEngine V3(not BostonEngine v5), you MUST use nAa ICS kernel!! Otherwise it won't work for you. If you have the correct kernel, correct ROM and still not working, try reflashing the ROM and NOT wiping everything and vice versa.
Good luck!

Help, stcked on FreeXperia boot screen

hi,
I was on CM 9 nightly http://www.cyanogenmod.org/devices/sony-ericsson-xperia-ray
and just tryed to upgrade for the newest version there !
(copy last version to sd, wipe cache - dalvik, flash, reboot)
And now, i'm stucked on freeXperia logo
cant even flash something else (assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")...)
Have you flashed the latest kernel (should be included in the zip)?
If this doesn't work, wippe data/factory reset and flash it again.
If you get the getprop error, open MetaInf-com-google-android-updater-script and delete the first 3 lines (they start with getprop). Pack zip again and flash it :good:

well, i dont know for the kernel : i did (like for my GS2) install zip for sd card, then choose the the CM9 version. Isn't the kernel flashed same time?
i tryed wipe data/factory reset, the flash doesnt work
the MetaInf-com-google.... solution works : i can flash it again without the error.
Thanks bro!
Kernel must be flashed via flashtool or fastboot. How to do that (flashing the boot.img) is in the tutorial for installing custom roms/kernels in my signature :good:

No, xperia phone aren like sammy phone which got separate recovery and kernel partition. In fact, by default stock, xperia phone doesnt even have any recovery. The kernel must be flashed via fastboot before flashing rom. Recovery integrated into kernel ramdisk.

[Q] Phone goes directly into Recovery

This i9100g doesn't belong to me. It belongs to a friend..
Here's what he told me he did:
1)Did an OTA update to the GB stock ROM
2)Phone restarted and got stuck at the logo. (It was that way when I got the phone from him)
What I did to try and fix it:
1) Flashed a ClockWorkMod Recovery kernel (GT-I9100G_ICS_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.2.tar) using ODIN
2) Data wipe .. Cache wipe .. Wipe /system /cache /data...Wipe Dalvik
3) Flashed CM10 (cm-10.0.0-i9100g)
4) Reboot System. It didn't work.
So again,
2) Data wipe .. Cache wipe .. Wipe /system /cache /data...Wipe Dalvik
3) Flashed CM9 (cm-9.1.0-i9100g.zip)
4) Reboot System. Things don't work out yet again.
Here's what happens:
Phone shows the exclaimation mark at boot along with the initial logo and goes directly into CWM recovery
I think this is because I am on a GB bootloader. How do I get an ICS bootloader? Is it safe to flash the stock ICS Rom over CM10 i.e., to follow this guide without messing things up (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619571). Is there something that can be done apart from this to get CM10 working?
