my wifi won't turn on in the ARIO ROM and the MANDANA ROM for the galaxy player 4. Is anyone else having this problem? does anyone know how to fix it? i already tried restoring to stock and factory reset.

That's because the Ario Rom and Mandana Rom aren't for the Galaxy Player 4.0. They are for the Galaxy S only. You should never ever flash something that isn't meant for your device. You got lucky you didn't brick your device. Anyway are you sure you flashed back to stock with the right pda file? Which Galaxy Player are you using (USA, Eur, Internation)? Also did you go into the Android Recovery and Wipe Data/Factory Reset?

I'd say ask ChaosChris for help. If the radio in the SGS isn't the same as the SGP then it may not work.
I had this problem before. I Odin flashed to a kernel that was for gingerbread.
Try flashing a kernel for the android you have.I think this will work

I have just updated to 4.0.4 on my galaxy s2 and have lost root. Ive looked about the forums and am really unsure of how to root it again, being concerned over the brick bug etc.
Is there a safe to re-root? CWM has been removed from apps so presume that has gone.
Anyone help please?
Cheers in advance

Kill all Kies processes in Task mnger
Open Odin (run as Administrator)
Boot phone in download mode (vol down+home+power)
Vol up to continue
Connect phone to pc, a field in Odin will turn yellow
Click PDA and select the file you downloaded
Make sure that Repartition is not ticked!!!!!!!!!
Click start
When it finishes, the field will turn green and say 'Pass!', phone will reboot

When flashing a different rom, always do a full wipe(factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache) or else you'll end up in a bootloop.

No, you cant get the brick bug in Siyah. Its present only in Samsung kernels and ones based on it, like Cf-root.
Siyah is completely safe, dont worry.

Yes, 4.0.4 has the brick bug, but that should not stop you from returning to stock.
Download ICS 4.0.3 stock firmware.
Perform factory reset in your new phone
Flash via Odin.

Jes thats waht RR means so im safe if returning to stock 4.0.3 with odin and would anyone be kind enough to give me a link to download stock rom and the instructions with odin
To download the firmware go to sammobile. com, login and select the firmware for your phone and country.
Then in recovery full wipe, format /system and then reboot in download mode. Connect the phone to the pc with the USB cable, wait for Odin recognising it and fhen flash it

1. You can download 4.0.3 firmware on here on XDA or on Sammobile. On Sammobile, you will have the option to download the stock ICS firmware for your country
2. Odin Flashing Tutorials here on XDA
ok so il do it but another question is my case somehow connected with the one that was about the leaked firmware that bricked many devices i know it is samsungs fault because of their bug but i want to be 100% sure cause its not my phone its my mom's

1. The firmware you are downloading ICS 4.0.3 is very safe. Only 4.0.4 comes with brick bug on its stock kernel. So don't download ICS 4.0.4 firmware
2. Technically, warranty is already voided, If anybody should flash a leaked firmware, or root his phone.
Brick bug or not, Samsung is not 100% at fault if anybody should brick his device while flashing a leaked firmware or after rooting his phone.
The user has to take his own share of the blame too.

Hey bros - you guys have helped me a lot, and this will be my final galaxy S2 question as I am selling my phone (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281021279081?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649). It's currently running CM9 RC, and i want to flash it back to a stock 4.0.4 ROM and Radio. So does anyone know where I can find a stock ROM and radio and does anyone know what an Unlocked UK International i9100 would be running?
Also, if i flash a stock rom and radio, will the next owner be able to update his phone via KIES? Can anyone help me restore this phone back to normal?
Thanks guys - see you guys on the nexus 4 forum soon!
*Just realised that this should be in Q/A. Now do I move it?*
Question, wouldn't a factory reset put everything back to what came out of the box?

Unfortunately not, a factory reset just wipes the /data partition, which would remove all my data but still leave the ROM. What I *think* I have to do is to flash stock, and then flash the stock radio, and pray that the new owner of the phone can flash the official Jelly Bean thru KIES when it comes out.... can you shed some light on this?
Does anyone have the stock rom for the Samsung Galaxy Player 5, so that I can flash it via Clock?

No. Stock ROMs only come in Odin packages.
I guess I'm "stuck," then. Thanks.

download neatrom lite 4.7.zip and format data/system/preload/cache partitions in recovery. and flash the neatrom zip from recovery and reboot. it includes modem, kernel and rom.
http://d-h.st/UIK here is the link.
my two cents

Hi Fractrox,
Did you do a factory reset after flashing CM rom? If yes, try adding the APNs again under
Settings-> More-> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names, followed by a reboot.
For downgrading , you can find stock rom from sammobile for s2. The latest released is 4.1.2.
Check your location and flash the one for your country so that you get the correct modem file which will help fixing the 3G connection issues.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Maddy
i was going to say flash a stock rom via odin, but he said he has had no luck with odin?
and he says he is running cm10.1 already so i know he has cwm, thats why i said neatrom lite...as its less bloated and is rooted, with philz kernel etc,

i have downgraded from cm10.1 to neatrom many times.
good luck.
just remember to format system/preload/cache and data..and then flash neatrom lite from your sd card. let me know if you need any more help.
i'll be on xda for about another hour, then i have to go.
Didn't work. I downgraded but there was no 3G or ROM only kernel. and why does 3G works with stock ROM as the other guy said?
