I just got a HDMI cable for my photon. Works and all, but the resolution is poor quality. Is there a way to change this?
I'm on the latest 2.3.5 update. Rooted too. Stock everything else.

are you referring to the hdmi mirroring? if so there's nothing you can do. i recommend using webtop and then use that for the web and apps. much much higher resolution.

Has anyone else had HDMI mirroring issues since upgrading to gingerbread? Whenever I hook up my phone it only takes up about 2/3 of the screen with the overscan slider maxed out. It worked perfectly in froyo.
I can't even get mine to work since the update.

If you're not getting anything from your hdmi port, check your build.prop in /system to make sure hdmi.mirror.enable (or something to that effect) is set to true.
On my phone (eclipse rom) it was false by default.
What I cant figure out is how to make it work in landscape mode...

I will be watching it and it will randomly freeze but I can still hear the sound. I'm on alpha 2.1 with the newest netflix. Do I need a different version of netflix?
Sent from my Incredible 2 HD using XDA App
Yes, I have to quit Netflix and restart the video to get it to work. Any solutions?
Actually the latest version works perfectly for me. And i watch a lot of Netflix

I havent used Netflix much, mainly because the screen looks smushed because of the resolution. Anyone have a fix for that?
Happens to me to. On my htc sensation as well

I don't have that problem. With one of the newer updates Netflix goes to Tablet mode instead of looking like it's made for a phone. And the video quality is very decent, at least for Star Trek and Spongebob it is.
So I plugged my note in to my Samsung plasma tv. I used the mhl adapter that came with my infuse which I used with my infuse and it worked all the time. But it is not working with the note. Am I missing a setting or something? I am rooted with da g OC kernel but I haven't seen anything in that thread about this. So anyone have the same issue or could help me out?
Will gladly hit the thanks button fer ya!

Did not work for me until I plugged in the power into MHL. Then everything worked but the quality on the big 42" screen was not that good.
I have not ordered one yet, but I've seen other Note users say this PNY cable works good. It's the one I intend to order soon.

Anyone know if our Notes output 720p or 1080p to the TV?

just need to plug the power into it too.
Thank you for responses but I did that as well. Just forgot to mention it. As far as I know mhl will never work without direct power supply. As I said this worked on my infuse and I have set it up the same way but no worky. Can anyone confirm they have it working?

The screen only supports slightly above 720p so I wouldn't count on it handling 1080 externally.

I think it will output 1080p video files just like Samsung's larger tablets and play them in true HD on a capable TV.
From what I've seen, MHL adapters are a bit of a crapshoot for the Note. I have one made by CableMatters that seems to work well, but sometimes it inexplicably doesn't.
I don't need it for YouTube or anything but I use my phone to dl californication from demonoid. Be nice and easy to just plug the note in and fly but what I've been doing is using es file exp to drop the video file on my network HDD and then stream from there to my ps3. Is there a more efficient way of doing this? (Besides paying for showtime of course...LOL)

I saw somewhere there was a process. I think it was to plug in the hdmi, plug in the power, then plug into device. I saw it worked for the poster but i may have the order off.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
I agree, try it using the following steps.. HDMI from TV into MHL Adapter / Power from Wall into MHL / MHL Adapter into phone. if you hear the beep that the phone is charging, does not mean it made a connection with the HDMI side. if you get it connected there will be a 2 / 3 second delay between the beep and you will see something on your TV, also I have USB debugging OFF, seems to work better with MHL.
Edit: With my Adapter, I do not have to reboot the phone with the adapter in for it to work, it will auto detect whenever I hotplug it. I do have to mess with the connector plugging into the phone, seems it can be plugged in / detect power, but not HDMI, (Wiggle it

HDMI output from my Photon is highly pixelated? Had anyone had similar problems?
Is it a massive screen or somethin? I know it only allows 720p not 1080p

It`s only a 32" screen. It is full HD though.
Maybe its not the phone, its the video try lowering to 420p when playing that video. Talking about settings on the phone. This happened to me once.

Never heard of it but I assume it's for watching tv shows. I use DroidTV Primetime and love it!! Has full seasons of shows that aren't available on Netflix or to purchase in store. IceFilms sucks lately cause most of the d/l links don't work
