I had the infamous dead zone on the right of my tab.
See this gude to see what i am refering too.
Problem went away after i did the following;
I pushed the tabs in the dock ports on the bottom to the unlock position.
Started lifting the screen a slight bit
Push back down, and while applying light pressure move the tabs to the locked position.
Something I must have done wrong after re-assembling my prime the last time.

Hello gurus,
I have spent a few hours first looking around in the wiki for help. None found yet. Please diagnose and help me get my display working so it does not fade when I release finger pressure from the tmobile logo area. To operate the unit constant pressure need be applied to that spot for the display to bleed through. Otherwise it fades to white. Please advise. Thanks. G
I have the same problem, I have to keep it squeezed on the left hand side.. I read a thread about it before and everyone was saying that its a loose/crap connection for the screen..
It sounds like a loose connection in your upper slide. I would recommend finding locating the Wizard Service Manual and following it to dis-assemble your device and "tighten" up that loose connection.
KEEP IN MIND TAKING APART YOUR DEVICE WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY
If you find that it is not a loose connection and that there may be a more serious issue, then I recommend sending your device back to HTC to have it repaired.
EDIT:: Found it:

It's for sure a connector problem. This happened to me 3 months ago. I dropped the phone and it went white. so i dissembled the phone and the film connector that is used to connect the mainboard with the screen was loosen. i put the connector back in place and everything was ok.
every so often whilst my xda mini s is doing something , my screen is covered in lines, i then press the power button to turn screen off and on again then its fine.
is there a way to perminately stop this , or what is the problem behind it.
thanks
Hi,
I had a similar Problem (vertical lines) when i pressed the screen/O2 logo in the botton right hand corner. (after holding it down with the lines on screen the unit crashed after 5 seconds or so)
Went through various options, originally thinking it was a software problem, however I think it was that the screen ribbon connector (ie the bit on the circuit board) was shorting out with something (not sure what).
Reason 'I think' is that after taking My Mini S apart (good tutorial on here somewhere) and placing 1 layer of Sellotape on the non conductor side of the ribbon before pushing back into connector (to improve connection) and covering every circuit board that has components that are close to anything conductive (metal) with insulation tape it seemed to have solved the issue
This is after I had replaced the screen circuit board (which contains the connector), and played about with various other options, putting them all back when they did not work.
Now taking it apart is no mean feat and you may damage things (as I had a 'spare' which is really dead I wasn't too worried as that was used as the test!)
If they are horizonal lines I do not have a clue, sorry!
May help. may not - I Tried
yeah, the lines are vertical , so it could be down to poor connection.?
So, earlier today I was watching a movie on my Folio. Everything was fine all running as usual. I put it down on the table, plug the charger in and turn of the screen. Half an our later when I try to turn the screen on again its all black. I restart the Folio, same result. I remove the battery for a couple of minutes and start the device, no luck there either. Any one ever experienced a similar problem or maybe know a solution to it?
Greatful for every advice

Does the display ever turn on??? I mean, if you cannot even see the Toshiba logo I don't think that your problem is software related?
You might want to open your folio and check if the hardware connector of the LCD panel is fitted correctly in its socket on the mainboard. I inadvertently unplugged it one time, as I was playing with folio's guts Maybe, your connector just got loose in time.
However, if you are going to try and open your folio, the connector should be placed in the upper part of the device, just between the webcam and the hardware keys. Yes, you will need small hands and some practice
I can feel the device starting since it's vibrating at start-up, 'only' problem is the screen is completely black. So it's not impossible that the screen connector is loose, I just don't see how it could have happend since I never have opened it myself :O
Well, I think I'm going to crack it open tomorrow and see what I can find

Right now I'm actually quite proud of myself cuse I managed to fix my Folio opened it up and saw that the screen connector was loose, so I put it back in place and now it works like a charm!

The connector was located in the bottom left corner of the device, not upper part

Well, it seems that I might have rotated my folio at that time . Indeed, the hint was ALMOST good, even if in a counter-clockwise style! xD
I noticed that while playing some games like doodle jump and temple run the character always tends to shift to the right. This would happen every even when keeping the base of the tablet on a flat surface.
So i did a test with androsensor and from the results i figure that there is a problem with the sensor since X axis shows a reading of -0.9 when i hold it vertically with the base of the tablet on a flat surface. Tilting it to about 10° to the left gets reading back to around 0
Is this a hardware issue or a setting problem? I got the tablet sometime in January but didn't notice the problem then.
I am running cm7 beta.
Attachment shows readings while holding tablet vertically and the charger side of the device on a table.
If it is a software issue can it be fixed? I could not find any calibration settings in the settings section

probably needs a calibration for the accelerometer. i am not sure if there is an app for that though.
I noticed today when i woke up i cannot press the right side of the screen and get any kind of response. It is only about a thumbs with of the right edge but this prevents me from being able to hit send on text messages on the default messaging app and also on go sms as the send buttons are in the same general location. Is my phone just FUBAR or is there some way i can resolve the issue. Have tried power cycling and thats about it. I guess i need to know if this is a software issue or a hardware issue and if there is any way to find out and fix the problem.
I've been having the same issue actually. In the bottom right corner, anyway.
Like when I go to attach a picture to a text message, I have to hit the text box first so the paperclip button is out of the corner. I've also had some trouble unlocking with the camera or touching it from the Navbar, where it's positioned in the bottom right corner. :/

I have similar issues with that when my phone is plugged in. And my acreen often locks up kinda with the last image on the screen being the only thing you see until you reset.

I don't think I've had an image stuck to my screen yet. I have this problem even if it isn't plugged in, which is really strange. Not sure why it's so unresponsive, takes several tries to unlock/select.
And kudos for being in Portland too! :good:
Have either of you found a consistent way around the problem or a way to resolve it? Also are you running the phone in the base state that you bought it in or is it rooted / unlocked?
I just tested my phone, by opening the browser to google.com (mostly white background), all around the edge of the screen. And I can see feedback animations for all my touches around the edge of the screen. So I don't think there is any problem with the touch digitizer, at least on my phone. Phone is still stock, rooted and TWRP.
I have touch animation when I touch the bottom right corner on the lockscreen, but it doesn't always drag/ripple out. Sometimes it acts like I've pulled my finger off so I have to do it again.
Rooted, unlocked, stock.
After touch responsiveness got increasingly worse i contacted AT&T and they are sending me a free replacement since these issues seem to be covered under the one year warranty. Just throwing that out there in case anyone else gets as frustrated with the problem as I have and cant find a permanent fix.
I can confirm that I am having very similar problems... it is getting worse.
I am stock rooted and unlocked.
It is getting harder and harder to press things, fling actions (like scrolling through a list) hardly move a thing.
I just installed a multitouch visualizer and whenever I have 2 fingers on the screen and then go to cross them (start with fingers in opposite corners, move one up and the other down until they pass each other in the middle) it actually loses both fingers and then sometimes only one pops up again on the screen.
Can anybody try an app like this Play Store Link.
I've had similar results with 2 other multitouch testers.
Is it my phone, or everybody's?
----EDIT-----
Figured I would install the Base ROM (7.0>7.3) because either it was a software issue and maybe the ROM would fix it, of it was a hardware issue (I really didn't think it should be acting like that) and I would try to get it replaced.
The Base ROM fixed my issue (for now, fingers crossed).
Now using a multitouch visualizer, the contact points are always seen, even when the fingers cross.
Don't know what caused it, but it was software (at least for me).
----EDIT----
Just plugged in the charger again... now the touchscreen is acting strange again... this phone does strange things when plugged in...
