Samsung Galaxy S advance - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. A colleague of mine just bought the galaxy S advance. I believe its model number is i9070. Anyways, it's fairly new and it's a mid-range phone. Anybody know of a rooting guide and/or custom roms for this phone? I've looked around xda and couldn't find anything so far.

yup, i agree with neko, should look at the development community. if there is more and active development for s2, then go for it if u have the money for it.
the more active the community the more u can get from ur phone. like our optimus one!
imho, mine look like much smoother in scrolling compared to stock sgs2 of my friend. but of course, interms of hardware and size....hush....

Well their CPUs are different, and I always feel that Qualcomm's CPUs are slower than they should be.
Am going for htc .....becoz galaxy is every where, all have galaxy only differnce is the size...... and sensation development is also good but may not good as much as s2 ....
But these reasons dont make 6000rs more worth for s2 unfortunatly...
Where sensation gaves qHD and mettalic design
S2 of course.
kind regards

S2
it already has ics from Sammy
Also I heard sensations battery cover has the radio in it so it messes up

Official ics for sensation is already out but not in my country but they says with in two weeks...
Also thanks for that radio thing am searching
phone for phone I prefer the experience on the Sensation, however everyone says S2.
I guarantee you that one week after your purchase you will be like, aww I want the other one! Its always the same!
To be honest though its personal preference at the end of the day, your the one using it!

Get S2 my friend has a sensation and its laggy.

Tested both of them, Sensation is a bit slower imho
I know sensation is slower may be it will be the reason of 6000rs (120$) less....
Also by using custom rom as our phone it may be flying..

Don't you know to read instruction before posting???
This should be in general and you post it directly in original development!!!!
Shame on you..

well at least we have to answer his question first
even if someone managed to port it chances are the phone will puke it out.. One X have a considerably higher specs than S2.. hence it'll be unlikely that S2 will have that kind of features..

Still Viable?

Apologies if this has been covered to death. I scanned many recent threads but couldn't find much.
My aging desire z is getting on my tits and was wandering if the s2 is still a viable modern handset. I know that the community is still very active but can't help thinking I'd be better off going for a nexus of some sort. Stock android is not a worry as it'll get flashed anyway.
I know the old view of 'get the best you can afford' applies, but money is short

Well, there are plenty of developers who put their time in making roms etc., so that's not a problem. If you want your phone to be updated faster, you have to buy a Nexus phone. It's all up to you, asking here will give you mixed results (or no answer at all).

Definitely a good decision.
Using GT - I9100
Just hit the damn help button if I helped you.
S2 is a great choice. Just got mine in October, and it still can live up to the S3 and Nexus 4 in terms of everyday use.

Answering your money question, the s2 is still a duel core 1.2ghz 1gig ram phone.. apart from optimization/framerate issues on the latest games (jellybean leak) the overall capabilitys of tha s2 are good yo

I have a question about flashing. I use Linux so will be flashing with heimdall. What I want to know is do I have to flash a stock ics/jb Rom first or can i go straight for custom fun? I used to flash my sgs1 with odin and cwm so understand the whole download mode and the like.
Cheers.

Phone with best support?

I am helping my friend pick out a phone. He is on Boost Mobile. I have narrowed the phones down to the HTC Evo Design 4g or the ZTE Warp Sequent. I've been trying to search to see what all support there is for these devices as far as custom roms. I was hoping someone would know which phone would be better to get based on the support of these devices from the community. I have a Galaxy S2 and so easy to just come on here and look at the sub forum for it, but these phones do not have a sub forum on here. All help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Nexus? That isn't one of the two devices I listed, and as far as I am aware the Nexus phones aren't compatible with Boost.
I have the Warp Sequent. Out of box, its running 4.0.4 and runs fairly quickly. I haven't had any luck finding any custom rooms that actually work for it though. I'm pretty sure that the Evo design has some Custom Roms, but don't quote me on that.
*edit: Now running SuperRom. Sooo sweet. I've had no problems at all with this phone now that I have this rom.

[Q] Can you install One X Roms on One X Plus

I've come back to HTC from Samsung GS3 which I had a lot of experience rooting/ flashing roms.
I have the One X Plus now. My question is can international One X roms be installed on the international One X Plus?
I won't assume/guess anything until I'm 100% sure so would appreciate any help with anyone with rooting/flashing knowledge of these phones.
Also, where is the best online resource for list of custom roms with user comments?
Many thanks

Thanks - I spoke to HTC about this and they advised that One X roms could be flashed on One X Plus - Goes to show that there is much more knowledge on here than within HTC.
That makes no sence as a lot of people flashing one x ROMs on to the one x + brick there phone or they don't work
Anyway if you do have luck flashing one x ROMs let us know

Hi,
I am new to this HTC world and even you can say, new to Android world. I purchased HTC One X+ in india recently (so I believe it is an unlocked version, not like AT&T, verizon etc). Yesterday I got an update to Android version 4.2.2, which I did. But now want to move back to 4.1.
Please bare with me and help me out to downgrade the same. Please be simple in using terms, as I am very less experienced in using Android (hardly couple of months).
plz plz plz.....
Thanks in Advance !

Erm, I know you are new and all, but you just
1) Restored a 5 month old thread.
2)Went offtopic to the original thread topic
3) Did not use search
Please read through this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470721 since this topic has already been talked about quite a few times.
