Backflip Issue - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A while back I installed CM7 on my backflip when i still used to it (now have Atrix 2) , now I want to start modding it again but it wouldnt turn on, I left it charging for a while and it would just show the white M screen, then a black screen (which was still lit up) and then completely off, then again and again and again etc. on one of those boots i pressed the J and D on my keyboard and unplugged it from the wall and hooked it up to my computer, flashed RSD lite with 2.1 and now it sometimes makes it all the way booting up and after like using it for 5-10 seconds, bam, restarts, I think it is a problem with the software too not a battey issue ( i know the BF has an issue with the battery that makes it restart ), because when I booted up into recovery mode to do a factory reset the phone wouldn't restart like it would the other times, been trying to fix this for two days with two different batterys but sadly no success, any idea how I can fix this? I love my backflip and hope it isnt lost forever. Also when I boot it up after flashing with RSD lite it doesnt show me the android setup screen just normal 2.1 boot, then 5 seconds later restarts
Please Help!

I have the same problem. It appears to only occur when using chargers that check resistance on the data pins to determine output current. My old iphone charger causes a boot loop, even with a full battery, while the included Motorola 550 mAH charger works fine, for example. Have you tried a different charger?

[Q] Endless Reboot with custom ROMs

I've been able to flash custom ROMs onto my HD2 without problems for a long time.
However since recently when I flash a ROM (e.g. radio) it goes into a constant reboot mode:
- Does not turn on without power cable anymore
- When I plug in power, it vibrates and the white screen comes up
- After a few seconds it goes black then comes the white screen again
- Goes on forever...
I was able to get the it to run again by first doing Task29, then installing the latest original ROM (1.66.405.2). However, as soon as I install another ROM (e.g. RADIO_2.07.50.27_2) I get into the endless reboot again.
Update: After another try to get a different ROM onto the device, I'm not even able to flash anything working (endless reboot).
Please help!
bent battery pins.
Thanks a lot that actually seemed to be it.
I noticed a pin was bent when I finished my flashing crusade but I didn't connect it to the issues I noticed.
i have the same problem today, but no bent pin. I cant even charge it, when plug into charger it charges for 5 seconds then boots up to HTC logo white screen without any info for 10 sec then reboots itself forever, I cant even charge it at the moment because once it boots up it goes to HTC logo screen and reboots the whole time rendenring the battery unchargeable. I assume the battery is faulty eventhough the phone is brand new.
any ideas?

try this, it might work .
Remove battery for 10 minutes, plug in charger and wait 5 minutes, hold power for 10 seconds then release, insert battery normally, should charge fine now

[Q] Atrix 4G Won't Boot or Charge Battery

Hi there, last monday my Atrix started to show FC on Whatsapp after a heavy use, it was really warm so I decided to reboot and see if it got better.
I was running CM 7.2 and beofre that day is was all fine, but once it started to reboot it never passes de M logo dual-core screen, I took off the battery and start it again in order to get to CWM and flash a nandroid backup, it didn't show the recovery menu or any menu, it only stayed on the M logo dual-core screen. I let it sit out and tried to charge the battery but it doesn't seem to be charging, if I plug it to the wall it starts up but stays on the M logo screen, and if I plug it to the PC I get a black screen with a solid green LED, sometimes de PC recognizes it as a Microboot device (no clue what it is) but I can't acces fastboot or RSD mode in order to try to recover.
I haven't tried a different battery (one is coming but it can take a while, I live in Colombia) and haven't tried to charge my current battery on a wall chrager directly (haven't found one) so I have no clue what to do.
Do you guys have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance!
I have had this problem before, you need to plug the phone into one of the Motorola chargers, because it supplies more power than the pc can to get it to initialize charging.

[Q] Phone won't boot, can't enter download or recovery

A few days ago my phone got soaked through my pants as I was working in the rain. I came home, dried it out, etc. and tried to turn it on. Wouldn't turn on, so I started charging it. I eventually got it to turn on and it seemed to be working fine except for some reason it said the battery life was at 0 %. Note that it was still working normally otherwise.
I went into recovery, made a backup, and did a factory reset to see if that would fix the problem. It didn't, so I restored the backup. Now the phone won't turn on at all.
When plugged in, it shows the charging battery symbol, and if you hold power to turn the phone on it will sometimes begin to start, but it gets to the boot animation and simply stays there forever (I've left it at the boot animation for several hours to no effect). If I try to boot into recovery it simply does not work; it will either just restart the battery charging animation or boot normally (and then get stuck on the boot animation).
In a last ditch effort, I was going to try to flash a stock ROM from Heimdall. However, I plugged my phone in and tried to enter download mode and was greeted with the error: "LOW BATTERY!! CAN'T DOWNLOAD!!." This was after charging the phone all night. I then proceeded to charge the phone for another hour then try again, to the same error. And now here I am. It seems the problem is that my phone will charge, and the battery will be full but for some reason the phone doesn't recognize that the battery has a charge, so it just thinks it's at 0%. I've tried a different battery and was unsuccessful. Is there any way that I can either force my phone to enter download mode or somehow get it to recognize the charge on the battery? Or is there some other way I could resolve this? Or is my phone simply gone for good?
I am (was) running a rooted I777 with Slim Bean ROM ( I believe v8) 4.2.
Have you tried using a JIG it can be an option
If a JIG doesn't work you can try removing the battery, then plug the phone to the PC and go to download.
But for me the problem is with the battery. If after flashing the ROM you get the same results, don't think it and BUY A NEW BATTERY.
Good luck.
Sent from my Nexus 7 2012.
If I'm bad at English is because I'm from Argentina and I'm learning.
I has the same problema, I spend two days searching on the web, but i didnt have any idea.., ,y problem is. when we conect to ANY charger (car/wall/PC-USB..) appears on screen a batery logo, but the batery never charged..., I tried to enter to the CW but, the keys combination doesnt make anything on the phone, and without live on it, I cant access to CW..., I wait for 2 hrs, with these cell phone conected to charger to see if the it gone works...
ANYONE has another idea for how we resolve these issue? My phone has a stable version of CyanogenMod..
same with me but what i did was put a different battery in, let it charge for a bit then put the original one in and it only started charging after i used my car charger as i was driving to work so thats how i fixed mine.

[Q] Motorola Razr XT910 Stuck on M logo, does not have access to factory cable

Here's the story: I'll try to make it as short as possible (I'll also put on a TL;DR at the end)
My phone is rooted, flashed to Cyanogenmod 11 nightly build, no problems when I flashed these guys.
I installed Lucky Patcher to patch an app, put some files on my SD card (bunch of PSX games)
just put it out there if that changed anything
My battery was low at that time and I did not expect that if I let it shut down by itself, I could still open it just like I do in the past.
Phone totally has no charge on my battery 0%. I plugged in my charger, the phone opens up but it only opens the M logo with Dual core technology (not the pulsing M). Tried to charge it overnight, still stuck on dual core screen, tried resetting using Power + Volume Down, and also going through where AP fastboot, BP Tools was, If I choose any of them (except for fastboot) it would redirect me again to the dual core logo.
sometimes I get lucky if I choose BP tools and goes to TWRP recovery (safestrap installed), tried to boot there and still no luck.
also tried unplugging charger while on the selection of AP fastboot and just shutdowns my phone. also one time it redirects me to one with a battery icon and a question mark.
I also don't have access to factory cable, can't buy one because it's not available in here in the Philippines, tried making one but I reaally suck at soldering, also when I opened up the wires, it only shows up 3 wires, red, green, and white, the other one I opened was only red and black.
TL;DR : Phone battery is dead, when plugged in charger, Motorola Razr Stuck on M logo (with Dual core technology). I also don't have access to factory cable, can't buy one because it's not available in here in the Philippines. Also there's no more Motorola stores that I can get a fix (I think they got bankrupt :silly
I really love this phone and I would really appreciate if I could get a quick fix
Sad, it seems that the questions here seldomly get answered, hope the experts go online soon

It's OK don't worry. Just charge the phone for about two hours, unplug the carger and faster reset the phone wiht power + volume up + volume down. This way you can boot to safestrap. You will see that battery is on 0%, so plug the phone in the charger and wait. Until you are in safestrap the phone will charge. The battery needs at least 5% to boot the OS, I myself prefer to reach 20 even 30 percent. Then on safestrap's homescreen press reboot, then system and after the phone reboots wait or press search when safestrap's splash screen shows and the OS will load.

It Worked! Thank you so much for your help. The only problem I have now is that everytime I get my battery low, it doesn't go on charge mode when turned off. is there a fix in that? But overall, the trick that you thought me worked, and I'm using that trick when my battery gets low.
It seems hard to get a fix for this issue, so I used the app "Tablet Auto Power Off ★ root" and set the auto shut down when the battery reach 5%. It gives me enough power to restart the phone when I'm ready to charge it.

Droid 4 XT894 - Bootloop until it bricked?

Hi , I had my Motorola Droid 4 XT894 by Verizon working until last week. One of my kids threw it on the floor.
The phone got stuck on Droid logo loop.
So I tapped into recovery, made the power+volume keys combo but it never went into recovery mode.
So I tried fastboot mode (power+UP+DOWN volume keys) I get into fastboot menu and selected fastboot menu option (so I can get this
phone to flash original stock rom back (which I downloaded from one of the threads here on XDA Developers, using rds lite 4.5).
But Battery being FULLY charged before the drop, showed me it needed more energy and won´t allow the flash.
3 hours later (trying to flash many other roms for 2.3 and 4.0, 4.1 and 4.4) battery went dead.
I hard wired red cable to positive and black cable to negative connectors in the non removable battery (as shown from a cut-usb cable on youtube) and plugged the device onto the wall to feed it power.
Battery never charged up a bit. Didn´t even warmed up. The only signal that energy is going through is that when I push the power button, it shows a white screen with a lot of little color pixels randomly scattered. There´s no text to read or sound to hear.
*Phone still gets recognized by computer on fastboot before and after the "half flash".
*Device is correctly identified when adb command: "fastboot devices" is typed.
QUESTION TIME:
If I buy a brand new original motorola battery - would my phone recognize it and ignite power on? or did I just lost a phone?
If I remove the screws and get the batt out and place it on those generic rechargeable phone battery-devices with tweezers, would it correctly charge?
Thank you community.
Regards.
Thanks.
main phase 2
got a radio-electronic guy. Charged the battery up to 4.2 (battery says that´s the fullest charge on the back label). So I guess I´m ready to go and flash original ROM.
I think I got one or 2 updates (I don´t recall the 4.0 upgrade, but I´ll say the original ROM should be: VRZ_XT894_6.7.2-180_DR4-16_M2-37_1FF.xml.zip
Right?
Working - Partially until reeboot
Hi Everyone. I successfully loaded in the battery with an all-night-charge with direct connection to the wall charger. So I ran RSD Lite, and flashed original stock ROM. It flashed sucessfully.
So YES, definitely a fully charged battery (hardwired) did allow for the full process to flash the entire rom into the phone.
I waited 15 full minutes until all 1 to 18 process were done. RSD showed: Now flashing files and reeboot.
The phone took another 7 minutes to get into android (and it also showed me : updating system files 1-of-69) and so it did. System loaded in correctly and I have all my OLD desktop icons and contacts and everything back. BATTERY is FULLY CHARGED. (it is shown on the screen).
So I press the power button to turn the phone off.
I turn it on again, and all I get now is a white screen with a lot of randomly scattered color pixels. Again the phone doesn´t do anything
and there´s no MOTO logo.
I´m going nuts now....how do I fix this?
