took some time finding a decent micro usb head to solder the 4th pin unto, but finaly got it to work. will update later..tks!

Do you have the possibility to test an MHL connector to know if HDMI output is possible using this kind of dock? seems great to me

Awesome! very beautifu!

my xperia U dosnt support MHL , so even if i plug one in it will never work. for xperia P and S which have hdmi out, a similar dock could be possible, with to connectors on the dock. also for phones that do support MHL, OTG+MHL will never work, as it is not possible to be in 2 different modes at once.

I am not so sure but I think it is possible to use OTG and MHL at the same time according to videos on Youtube.
3 in 1 may not work MHL, OTG and Charging. But we never know until someone will try. ( I talk about devices with MHL support) .
There is actually few different combinations ;
MHL and OTG - should work
MHL and Charging - should work
OTG and Charging -??? Correct resistor may enable this mode
OTG and Charging and MHL - ??? No idea about this one

[Q] Can I connect my Flyer to projector with this 2 cable

I always want to use my flyer to connect with projector to support my presentation . Now I already have official Flyer hdmi connecter (with this cable you can use hdmi cable to connect with your HDTV see attachment for the picture)
and i found this cable on Ebay which is convert hdmi male to vga female (see another attachment for the picture)
Can i use this 2 cable together to connect with VGA male from the projecter?
Anyone have idea about this?
Thank
Edit on 19/10/11
Now I already test this two cable. It can use together to connect to the projecter and it work Fine for me ^^

I think you need more than a cable. You are having to convert from digital to analog. I use this http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Compon...XVBC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1317658374&sr=8-2 and have been able to connect my Acer Iconia W500 and my Archos 70 to my computer monitor through a KVM switch using this converter. There are some cheaper ones out there, but I know this one works (using it right now, in fact).
There are some unknowns in there: I don't know if the Flyer supports HDCP over HDMI. If that's the case, protected content probably won't play over the VGA adapter.
The bigger question is: does your projector have a DVI connector? If it does, you're best off using an HDMI-DVI cable.

Most of the projector in my meeting room never have DVI port It always have only vga(It be like this every meeting room in Thailand)
It sounds like it ought to work, but you really can't know until you try it. Assuming the adapters work individually, I don't see a reason this can't work. The only thing I'd be concerned about is trying to play copy-protected videos, but if you're just using it for PowerPoint type of stuff, I'm guessing this will work... but you really won't know until you try it.
I know that's not very helpful, but it sounds like not a lot of people are doing what you want to do.
If you do get that adapter, please let us know what happens. If nothing else, someone may be searching for an htc flyer vga adapter and stumble across this post. Letting the world know how this solution works will be a nice gift to the future.

Hdmi male to vga female
I think it may take around 2 week for shipping. I will review it as soon as possible after I get it.
Are there any good news from your experimentation, Hellogop?
The Flyer outputs digital HDMI only (as most devices do) so you must use a adapter that converts from digital to analog VGA. For example looking on ebay...
This cable @ $8: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-hdmi-m...264?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b609b180
will not work.
However this adapter @$28 : http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HDMI-Ma...ultDomain_0&hash=item1e66dc4db9#ht_2223wt_952
Probably will, but I caveat this because I have not personally tried this adapter.
You could also use this single adapter @~ $35 to go from the micro USB on the Flyer to a VGA port, http://www.amazon.com/Menotek-Adapter-Galaxy-Tablet-Sensation/dp/B005K9XEP4
Note that some of these conversions to analog will only work at 480P resolution SD TV not at HD 720P.
Yeahhh Hope This picture can tell all ^ ^
So this 2 cable can work that the good news.
But actually the Singature is not 100% clear but i think it OK to use for your presentation.
When you connect the HTC cable your Flyer's speaker will not work so you need to use other speaker to connect with aux port on the HTC cable.
If you have any question please ask. Now I happy with the result http://media.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Yeah, I've got one. It does what it says but a word of warning, it sits loosely when connected to the transformer. It's very handy though as I don't have a dock and so far everything I've plugged into it works well.
I just got mine today (actually 30mins ago).
Already taken it apart and are going to modify it. I dont fancy having 1dm extra height on my tablet, especially not on the underside. (edit: ok I lied, its actually only 8.3cm..... only...)
And yes, it sits quite loosely.
Im going to post a guide if my mod is successful. I am also going to try and add a charger port on it.

I don't know if it would be possible but how about adding another usb port. This would save using a USB hub to connect more than one peripheral to the transformer.

Simply adding another usb port isnt possible, you still need the hub control chip.
That would be possible to do but would require you to make a new 'case' for the adapter, and it would get quite big (relatively).

Yes, you can. I tried with my set (from Acer Aspire PC) and it worked without any problems.
You can find them on ebay. Relatively expensive though.

seller is 'buyspry'
I really miss a right-click feature when using a mouse while remote controlling a PC :/... not that that has anything to do with the adapter though.
Im not sure I should post my guide on how to add a cable to the adapter... It wasnt my best day and it turned out quite disasterous I somehow managed to kill 2 solder points so had to find alternative source lol
And I gave up on the charging port... I couldnt for the life of me figure out which pins is for charging. The ones I thought (by comparing to the original charger cable) turned out to just short-circut the TF

The pins used for the USB adapter isnt even present in the default sync/charging cable, unless youre DAMN good at soldering and can solder cables on pins the size of 0.01mm with 0.01mm spacing.

Did that work?

I cannot buy RAZR dock, so I just build one.

My country lies to the east of Europe, we have access to a cool phones, but the additional components like HD dock with three USB ports, are not for us.
Thx to XDA and info found here I managed to build a working dock for motorola razr. I used pass-through micro HDMI - HDMI, cheapest USB Hub and micro USB cable with thin wire connecting 4 and 5 pin.
Motorola really should change the sales system.

So you have easy way to fix that. Buy cheap USB hub, dismantle dock, cut holes for additional ports and solder few cables. Do nothing with HDMI.
And download NEBTOP app.
Same thing here, i cant buy dock but now how i saw this i want to build my own dock station ^^ i have only a hdmi cable by the motorola yet because i dont know how can i enable the webtop, so my question : if i buy an otg, hub and the y cable
and try to make something like this it'll enable the webtop or i need the nebtop?
and if i need nebtop it will work with the ICS's kernel?
Thank you, and sorry for my poor english
you need nebtop

Xperia P TV Dock

Hi Guys,
Sony Mobile this morning has announced that a dedicated docking station for the Sony Xperia P is still alive. However, it won’t be called the SmartDock anymore, Sony is calling it the Xperia P TV Dock. So how does it differ from the SmartDock? Well it still has the HDMI output to connect to your TV, but it gets rid of the two USB 2.0 ports.
Do You Like It ?

Why would they take something amazing and kill it. Without being able to plug in a wireless keyboard or mouse, whats the point? Anyone want to bet that they will release a BlueTooth controller to go with this? Its the only way I can see it working now.
I wonder if they did it deliberately to stop people plugging in an external drive full of movies, pushing streaming services instead? It can't be a costs thing surely? A USB hub retails for £1.
And why is it a micro HDMI on the back? If it is to be the core of a home entertainment suite I would want full sized HDMI, for consistency if nothing else (and the fact the cables are 5x cheaper).
What does this possibly give you over a normal phone stand? Where is the USP?
Baffling.
Edit: should have read the post first. The dock itself has BT? WTF? Its like the team that designed it have never used a smartphone before, or are even aware of what device is actually going to be plugged into it.
Opinion revised from Baffling to Bewildered.

I am gonna buy the dock purely to use as a charging cradle for my P so I am HAPPY with the change as it means it will cost less
I'm gonna buy this with the Sony EP851 (since I don't believe it will come with an AC adaptor) which should be out by then and am gonna use this dock to enable the simplest (and prettiest) drop and charge solution I can think of. They could axe the HDMI output too for all I care

Hi Viiv, I think you may want to look at what else is available first. For one, the swap out from a USB hub to a bluetooth solution will add loads to the cost, I would guess this will be around £35. Second, the EP851 is not that special. Oh, and third, because of the BT, it will probably drain power (costing you money) when the phone is not docked.
If you dont care about the BT or the TV out, can I suggest something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150799144967
I have two of these. Each came with a really nice dock and a 1500 ma charger (performs exactly the same as the EP851) a data cable and a charge cable. I estimate the Sony equivalent would be around 6x more expensive (£10 against 35 + 25). As a bonus, the stand I use has a removable spacer, allowing you to dock your phone when it is in a case. I cant see the equivalent on the SXP TV Dock.
True, this is for the SXS, but an SXP version must be on the way.
Oh, and one last thing, the "Sugar Cube" trick worked a treat at removing that nasty logo. Take a white sugar cube, dampen it and rub it over the logo. It is abrasive enough to take the lettering off but not abrasive enough to damage the plastic.
-- Phil
What Bluetooth. There is no Bluetooth in the dock lol. When they say Bluetooth they are referring to the built in Bluetooth of the phone lol.
Instead, the Xperia P TV Dock has Bluetooth which can be used to connect a keyboard and mouse (as long as they support it). The addition of Bluetooth is a sensible move given the plethora of accessories out there

Umm that article is misinformed. Why would there be Bluetooth in the base when the phone has Bluetooth?
Next time use the right forum.

USB C to HDMI?

Did anyone found working adapter ?
People were saying it must have Display Link Chipset. I order one, but it did not work.
I test it with OEM OP OTG adapter.

USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 does not support video sharring.
Tried a couple of cable, including my Samsung Dex. No luck. So sad..
I don't know the details to the dot of what you're asking here but i used the only one that found on Amazon that would charge simultaneously as well and work with the ever-o-picky Mate 10 Pro, which it did for it's famous and handy Desktop Version. However, this same cable has null effect on the 6t, i mean, I'm not even talking desktop mode, just regular transfer of the screens content. Nope.
Actually this one, to be exact. Hope it helps someone out there!

Works however too much lag and latency for me... Nice to see some alternative display out options working on the 6t
The one I have doesn't lag.
I tried to plug it to regular one. In usb port. But what end up happening that it works only when charger is not connected. I plug in charger and then screen stop working and it start charging phone (slow speed).

It is working. Still have it. Only issue is that I could not get it working with charging at same time. Otherwise works perfect.

This phone supports Screen Mirroring with a proper cast-enabled device, but no audio, and screen lags.
Probably not what you are after in this case.
