So I just got my evo an I'm coming from the gs2 an I gotta say not only is the speaker volume but the music volume threw headphones really sucks. I havnt flashed any roms yet just wondering if there are some with volume tweaks or if that's even possible.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
yeah it does there are some mods and tweaks you can use to increase the volume. You can also use an equalizer like dspmanager or poweramps
I think,,my phone sounds great with headphones..
I don't think you will ever have good sound coming out your phone speaker. No matter what tweaks you do the speaker just plain sucks.
Actually I raised the volume threw qpst on the main speaker and increase the mm volume as well and mine sounds just fine.

The problem is that you're wrong. It can be adjusted and sounds just fine when it has been adjusted. Telling people that it's a terrible speaker and there's nothing you can do about it is not helpful, nor truthful. No one asked you to say it's the loudest speaker you've ever heard. You just don't need to come to a thread and spread lies about a phone you no longer own, and apparently don't know enough about.

The sound output is low on your evo lte? Wow dude its pretty damn loud to me and I have 32ohm headphones.I'd imagine normal 16ohm headphones would be louder. This device has more and a cleaner noticable output then my og evo/evo 3d/gs3. Maybe you have a defective device? Anyway there are ways to raise audio output voltage but it has to be done through kernel I think
Also the speaker isnt that loud but it does play frequencys nicely for a phone speaker. I'm assuming the old evo lineup had bad speakers,I have blown quite a few so perhaps they set the max volume low. Which can be raised through qpst or a bunch of other software

My headphone volume is off the charts. I use power amp with the native beats and I'm more than satisfied with the volume level. I have the beats in ear headphones and there more than adequate. If your volume is low or not to your liking then you may want to see if you have a faluty device. Also there are mods you can utilize to adjust the volume as well.

Note that ^^ that number is an average out of 10 tests. I know these tests arent very accurate, but theres a big difference between 760 and 56
The reason I am posting this here was because this app is buried very deep in an old thread, and located nowhere else. So the only way people would find it would be if they knew it was there.
I'll start off by saying that there is much speculation as to whether or not this app actually works (even by the developer). However, it poses no threat to your phone either way.
I decided to post it because I used it for the first time and it seems to have worked for me in avoiding being throttled.
It's a very simple process:
1. Install the app.
2. Immediately open the app and press "reset throttle"
3. Reboot
4. Hope you dont get throttled!
*i would recommend doing this at the BEGINNING of every pay cycle*
It's been said that this should be done BEFORE being throttled, so I do it at the beginning of every pay cycle as a preemptive strike. I've had it on my phone for about 4 months, but have never used 5gb, so I had no idea if it would work.
This month was the first time I've gone over the 5gb limit since downloading this app. I received the "you've been throttled" text message, but my speeds havnt slowed.
Anyways, thats about it. Remember, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK, BUT THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO HARM IN TRYING. I was skeptical, but I finally got results so I wanted to share with everyone.
UPDATE 09/13/11: So based on feedback from members in this thread, and the fact that I have been throttled the last two months in a row while ussing this app...i think its safe to say that this is not a method to avoid throttling. As you can see above from my screenshots, i had good reason to believe that it was, however I guess I mustve gotten lucky that month and dodged the throttle bullet.
I will leave this thread open, with the download link, just in case any developers ever feel like messing with it to see if they can get something going. Until then, happy data-ing, and down with throttling!
Download: http://db.tt/tXxhobt
Post feedback if it helps or not.
Sent from my pocket rocket!!
Rarely do you get throttled right away.especially if you have been with tmo for a long time, they throttle you at 10 gbs. there is no way or if throttling unfortunately. I didn't get throttled until 10 gb.

Excellent find TS
Guys, i said it twice in the OP.....theres no guarantee it will work. if youre skeptical, hit the back button on your browser.
just remember, i didnt just dig this app out and post it before seeing if it worked.
it happened to work for me. if i find a solution to being throttled, youre damn right im gonna post it for everyone to try......because the whole throttling/"unlimited data" is horse****
will it always work for me? i dont know. will it work for everyone else? i dont know. should people who have throttle problems try a possible solution, especially if its harmless and could work? absolutely.
updated OP with screenshots, to prove that it worked for me

Okay.......you can look up "Idiot" in the dictionary and you'll find my picture.
TMO throttled me back when I hit 5.03gb. And I didn't even realize that was what happened. I tried everything to speed things up again but nothing worked. So then I just figured it was really busy on the internet. I then check my account and saw the red letters. Anyways......I downloaded the app and proceeded as instructed. The first thing I did was a speed test. Results = 72.3 Kbps. I do not care what anyone says.....IT DOES NOT WORK!
Hey all,
Just recently acquired an evo3d from another member here on xda. The ringer and alarm levels are quite low for my tastes. I have gone through the whole QPST change for sound. Didn't notice much of a difference. Started using volume+ and set my speaker volume to 10. Still...better but no where near as loud as my 4G was. Anyone feel its safe to go louder? Should I go back to QPST and reset the sound settings to default before I take it too high?
Thanks in advance.

Also, try the tab for mms audio, I believe it's called.

Is there a setting in your rom to boost the volume? My old desire had that.
weird. i have leedroid on mine and it's perfect.

Hi, if I wanted to kill my mobile by shorting it out how should I proceed?
I was thinking in the terms of cutting the cord of a 5/12v charger and connecting it directly to the pins under the battery. As I understand the battery gives 3.7v and if I where to connect the 12/5v charger directly to the right pins on the phone I guess it will be fried. Is that correct and to witch of the 4 pins should I connect the cord?
AK 47 should be sufficient

Sounds a lot like insurance fraud to me, which is illegal and against the xda rules.

He is right though?? We're not here to assist in hiding the fact they corrupt their phone through user error so they can claim manufacturer fault and get a replacement on insurance..... quite sure that is insurance fraud too.

Is it possible to get S-Off without the wire trick? I'm fearful that I'll brick it using wire.
Nope.

one does not simply S-off their Rezound without the wire trick.
The wire trick is really not as scary as its made out to be. I got S-Off on my second try or about five minutes from starting up Controlbear for the first time.

Wire trick
Just be sure you touch ONLY the two contacts they specify and no others. I learned hard way awhile back.

Easiest way to avoid that is simply to cover up the other contacts with electrical tape.

yes and no.
yes because you can use a paper clip and not a wire, no because you still need to make the 2 contacts touch.

the cluster of 5 pins in that one area are all ground pins. you can use anyone of them. the power is supplied from the rectangular ones placed all over.

I couldn't get S-off to work with any paperclips that I had tried; spent like 20 minutes trying to get it to work with several paperclips. I used a speaker wire from my home theatre, and it worked the first time lol.

with the paperclip. you need to make sure the paper clip is flat as possible. its harder with a clip then a wire.
I'm paperclip all the way

I've used the core wire from TV coax on every one I've done.
I use solid core Cat-5. Got it on the first try.
Do you have a retainer? That would be perfect.
Charliestheman helped me. Maybe if you're scared to do it you could send it to him and he could send it back s off.

A 14ga solid copper core insulated ground wire worked for me. Had a length left over from some random project.

Yep. I think coaxial is too big, and a paper clip is too stiff.
