You have to do a data wipe in recovery to fix that.

Do a full wipe. Factory reset + wipe cache, dalvik and system

First step would be to do a full wipe I.e. data+cache+dalvik..if it does not work..then wipe system partition..be careful as this step will erase everything from your internal memory..
PS. Coming from leaked jb..install stock ics first via odin..reboot check if wifi works..if yes then go ahead and flash aosp based roms.. otherwise you might face wifi issues..

Go to ClockWorkMod:
1- Turn off Your device
2- Press and hold this combination: up volume - menu button - power button
3- When you're in Clockwork mod search and choose factory reset4
4- Then confirm factory reset and use Pc Odin and flash a new ROM in Download Mode
Hope this helped
PS: Factory reset will erase everything So backup ur files, but in your case it's not necessary knowing that it's stuck in bootloader
Download mode for PC ODIN flash:
-turn off you device
-Download Mode: Press and hold :down volume button - menu button - power button
-After that connect ur device via USB to your PC
-choose the Stock Rom from Odin "DISABLE or UNCHECK REPARTITION"and and flash your device it'll take like 3mins or less to flash on SGS3

This advice does not really help in my view .
Why factory reset then flash via Odin = wipe twice .
Odin does not have a stock rom . That may confuse the OP . >?> Its flash a stock rom via Odin .
jje

In my opinion the best option to restore stock firmware (and partition layout) is flashing three-file firmware by Odin with repartition option (and of course mx.pit). It will make all needed wipes after flash in recovery after selfreboot. All needed commands are set in executable script which is running after flashing. After that you may flash newest firmware by FOTA, Kies or Odin, as you wish.
All you need is download a correct for Your location version with separate PDA, CSC and MODEM and mx.pit.
Of course there is always a danger related to repartition so You need to do it with caution.

You DON'T need to flash the pit file unless you've somehow screwed up your partitions and have corrupted them. Flashing a pit file is one of the fastest ways to brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing and use the wrong one...
Just put the full stock update file in PDA and flash as it has the pit repartition in the file already. However, DON'T tick the repartition box...

i just bricked my phone with script manager, done something wrong. What can i do to unbrick?1 question, can i wipe data/factory reset and phone will be fixed?
What did you mean bricked? Can you turn you phone one, whats happened after this, I think you have only a bootloop. If you can access recovery menu try wipe, if it doesn't help reflash you rom using ODIN.

Just to make sure, flash it with a full package. (Zip containing 4 files instead of one big one). It'll turn everything to stock including system format just in case you messed that up. Flash it via ODIN and make sure to follow instructions so you won't have another inconvenience.

Help, cannot flash through odin, it keeps failing

BEFORE anyone mention that this problem has been mentioned before, read twice.
i was on omega rom, it kept rebooting. so i cleared cache and all that stuff. shut down the phone, booted in download mode. tried flashing my stock firmware KK3, it goes up to flashing kernel then fails.
when i turn the phone off and on i get the a different screen saying firmware upgrade failed try restoring via kies.
i tried lp2 firmware it flashes fine. could it be that i was using ICS before and now it doesnt let me go back to 2.3.6
pls respond with solutions
Omega has ICS themed ROMs but no ICS firmware ROMs so it wont be cos of that.Did you try a full system wipe before the flash??
boot to recovery and wipe cache partition. Then go to "mounts and storage" and format System/Data/Cache and then do a factory reset then reboot. The Phone probably wont go past the Galaxy-S logo so pull the battery then put it back in and boot to download mode and try the flash again. If that doesnt work you could try to flash the F/W that works and then flash a new kernel. After that try the 2.3.6 flash again.

Thx I will try it soon. But how come I can flash ics kp8 and lp2 roms
Are you using the new bootloader then?
That one Im not sure of but I have read on other threads that people have had to "repartition" their phones to be able to flash back from ICS.Not bieng on ICS I dont see why you cant as the Omega ROM was just themed.Im on the latest Omega and its 2.3.6. so 100% positive it wasnt ICS.Also Try stupid things like another com port.Happened to me once. The one I was using when I had an i9000 stopped letting me flash it via Odin when it reached the same stage every time I tried.Dont Know why.Just had to change ports.Try everything:
1.Full wipe and flash.....If that dont work then...
2.Flash F/W that works then change kernel and flash old bootloader(as mentioned above)never know, might work.
http://www.multiupload.com/LQQBRQVJUD
Flash it in PDA in Odin.
ALso you could try a program called "Fus Downloader"

True.Same thing happened to my mate.He has an i9000 and Odin stopped flashing his phone but only if he used a PIT file so I gave him my i9100 cable and it started flashing his phone again with PIT file selected.Weird how things work sometimes for no real reason.Anyway Nandroid backups are always a good call.could have saved some trouble the this case.Ive got a Nandroid backup on my phone and copied to DropBox thats months old but it would get me out of trouble if this sort of thing happened to me Even though its old as.Gotta have that saftey net.

Mate,thats a strange one alright.
Any luck yet.I was thinking that you might have to look for a package that has the older 4 file flash with pit.Its possible that maybe you need to repartition your device.Might be hard to find thought.

[Q] Recovery Mode before Odin?

I am pretty new at this. I have flashed the phone a couple of times after I updated to ICS through Kies (bad move)! Am currently using Gingerbread 2.3.6 but I now want to go back to a clean all new original stock firmware as my phone keeps randomly going into Kernel Panic Mode.
So, my Q is; Can I first go into recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, reboot phone and THEN flash with Odin? Meaning will the phone be capable of being flashed with Odin after all the wiping or will I need to save the firmware zip file on SD card and flash boot from there? I have the original stock firmware and I would like to have my phone as it was! I am NOT ROOTED nor do I want to be!
I just want my phone as it was! No more buggy bugs!
Please help! Have scoured the net, no answers to this particular question!

To have stock do this:
this is en example that help u flash with odin. (Proceed at your own risk)
Step by Step Instructions:
Download the Android Firmware
Extract the downloaded file ‘I9100XXKL1_I9100OXAKL1.rar’ to get these 3 files:
CODE_I9100XXKL1_CL783870_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5
GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKL1.tar.md5
MODEM_I9100XXKL1_REV_02_CL1085162.tar.md5
Download Odin software
Disconnect your phone if it’s connected to PC. Switch Off your phone. Wait for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
Now, put the Galaxy S2 in Download Mode — press and hold these keys together: Volume_DOWN+Home+Power.
this is required to install the XXKG1 using Odin PC Software.
Open Odin (from step 3) — Odin3 v1.85.exe.
Connect your phone to PC now. You should get the message “Added! !”
under the Odin’s message box in the bottom left. If you don’t get this message,
than probably there is a problem with drivers. Make sure you’ve drivers installed.
Important! On Odin, Do NOT tick the ‘Re-Partition’ checkbox, but keep the ‘Auto Reboot’ & ‘F.
Reset Time’ checkboxes ticked. Do not touch any other checkbox or tab or anything, except as required in step 9 below.
Select these files in Odin at respective tabs (check out the screenshot given at the top for help):
Click the PDA Tab, and select CODE_I9100XXKL1_CL783870_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5 (from step 2.1)
Click the Phone Tab, and select MODEM_I9100XXKL1_REV_02_CL1085162.tar.md5 (from step 2.3)
Click the CSC Tab, and select GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI-OXAKL1.tar.md5 (from step 2.2)
Now, hit the START button to let the process begin.
When process at Odin finishes your phone will automatically reboot —
and you can unplug the cable then.
Plus, you’ll get a PASS (with green background) message in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin.
If it’s red and with FAIL written over it, the process flashing process wasn’t successful.

I ALREADY know that thanks very much, it would be nice to have a proper answer to the proper question I PROPERLY asked.
Yes.
You can factory reset via stock recovery no problems.
When you flash stock Samsung firmware via odin you will end up with a completely new and clean system as long as the factory reset has been done prior to flashing or if the firmware is a wipe version.
What you will still have is all the leftover directories and files on your internal sd card. You can simply delete all of these and factory reset.
There you go. Clean New stock firmware.

Give us more details on what you have done exactly before you flash the rom.
And details about which rom.
One solution would be to flash stock.
Go in download mode with 3 buttons combo(volume down-power and home button) open odin, put as pda the stock rom as a tar and hit start.
Note: Be sure kies tray agent is not running in the background you have to kill the process with task manager
I also have this issue, after using a CM9 rom then rolling back to stock rom I have downloaded the stock rom, not sure if its 100 match for my phone but its stuck at samsung logo its 1 day old, please help?
Thanks
get into download mode and try flash again.
Right, I can go back to custom rom, but stock rom wont boot, any suggestions?
please try to elaborate the exact steps that you have done to get to that situation.
if you are now flashing back to stock rom. try this, flash stock firmware using odin, once done dont reboot. straigth boot into recovery mode, and wipe data factory reset. then boot.
ive got the same problem. i installed cyanogenmod 10 on and it worked fine but couldnt get to wipe the internal sd card so still had stuff from past roms on. I thought if i flash back to stock then it would clear it all then i could reflash back to cyanogen 10.
i flashed the stock in odin and it wont go past the samsung logo. cant get into the recovery mode to wipe cache as it just resets back to boot screen and cant use the samsung toolkit as i cant get into usb debugging mode as cant get it to boot
any help really appreciated

I had this issue before. Phone is stuck at samsung logo. I reflashed stock lfb firmware and cf root. Cleared data/cache/dalvik. Then it worked fine.
If every recovery method fails then only resort is to visit service center, go there and act dumb and state phone went crazy and this happened out of no where. If they wont find out that you've f***ked it up then you will get mo-board replacement.
Flash stock LFB from samfirmware.com through Odin.
Then flash Siyahkernel (also through Odin)
Pull the battery for 5 minutes
Press and hold vol-up + home buton
Press power button until screen lights up
You should be in cwm now. Factoryreset your phone and it should startup again
If you don't want to loose your data, instead of factory reset you can try using adb shell and run e2fsck on the block device for /data
Corrupt ext-Partitions are usually the reason for a softbrick

I encountered the same problem. I almost fainted when I can't solve the problem. Finally I did. this is what I did:
1. download the Stock Rom (depends which country and carrier you are) Unzip the downloaded file and you should have .md5 file that you will later use.
2. download ODIN
3. Launch ODIN click on "PDA button" select the .md5 that you extracted (the file you downloaded and unzipped) and click start and wait until it finished (hopefully this will solve your problem but in my case ... the samsung logo still is stucked so continue with my next steps)
4. download the CF Root from
note: this will install the CWM or recovery mode for your phone that will give you several options ...
5. use ODIN again and click PDA button and select the CF Root that you have downloaded and click on start until it finished.
6. boot to Recovery mode by holding "volume up (yes volume up and not volume down)" and "power" and "home button" all at the same time until recovery mode reappears.
7. go to advanced and remove dalvik cache, do a wipe out or factory reset, wait for your phone to restart ... wait a minute or two and your phone is back to normal.

I've read some posts about boot loop on GS3 but I can't find a solution to my problem..I installed 4.2.2 on my phone to get rid of the stock ROM which was branded by my mobile operator (Orange Romania) and to have the latest software available..but now I want to downgrade to 4.1.2 because I am not satisfied with this OS(fb messenger crashes every time, options in the settings menu are not available, can't connect to Kies and so on). When I try to install 4.1.2 with odin, everything goes fine untill the phone enters in a boot loop. I tried to install UK international version unbranded and Orange firmware from my country. Then I try to reinstall 4.2.2 and it works!!! In some posts it is said that wipe data/factory reset should be used in order to solve the issue but I don't know exactly how to use that command.
My question is: can someone exactly explain what to do so that I can install 4.1.2 stock ROM, unbranded or at least get back to my original Orange firmware? Thank you in advance!!
Get yourself a custom recovery, like CWM or TWRP and flash it through Odin. Once you complete that shut down your phone and power it again by pressing volume up, power and home buttons at the same time, that will take you to recovery. There you will see the menu for wiping cache and dalvik cache as well as system and other partitions of your internal /external sd cards.
Try to use official firmwares instead of leaks. Always backup, nandroid and titanium (or any other app), reset the device (factory reset in recovery) and flash the ROM of your choice.
Dacă ma ai probleme dă-mi PM
For recovery you can use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953

If you don't wanna encounter any FCs than yes, wipe out everything. It's more like a safety net, never goes wrong.
