FXP Upgrade on Xperia S - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hey Guys
I have FXP132-cm9 installed on my device. But since I installed this, none of the new FXP 133-cm9/cm10 nor FXP 134-cm9/10.
I flashed the ROM from recovery, flashed gapps, wipped the caches. Then rebooted into fastboot and flashed the kernal. Then on reboot it just gets stuck FreeXperia logo and never goes past that.
Then if I reboot into recovery again and try to flash the ROM again, it gives me an error 7. assert failed. L26a, L26i, nozomi. Then none of the ROMS work. I have to restore from previous backup in order to get my device working again.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks

Assert fails because you may format /system. It causes product name to be removed. Next time avoid doing this.
For this time, extract updater-script from the zip, remove the assert command and then replace the old updater-script.

Ah ok. That makes sense. Thanks for the feedback.
I did manage to get it working. I first flashed the boot.img, then installed the rom and cleared dalvik cache, then it working perfectly fine.

At the step from the guide above where i'm about to restore my /data I get an error message like this:
Code:

Anyone have a solution?
THANKS

The steps I did to upgrade is this:
- Download the FXP version you want. (If on Xperia S, make sure its the nozomi one)
- Extract the zip file to any directory on your PC and also copy the zip file to your SDcard
- Shut down your device
- Boot into fastboot (Hold the volume up key while putting usb cable in. Blue LED will come on and nothing else
- Open command prompt or terminal and navigate to the adb directory
- Flash boot.img via fastboot: fastboot flash boot ~/Path/To/boot.img
- Then disconnect the device from the host machine and boot into recovery
- Flash zip from SDCard, select zip put on above
- Flash gapps
- Wipe dalvik cache and nothing else
You should be able to reboot the device now without any issues. And all your existing apps and settings will still exist as you had it before if you are upgrading from previous FXP version.
Good luck

i instaled a theme for xt720 with metamorph and now phone reboots by it self as soon at it gets on the dexters froyo 1.3 animation.my question is wath can i do or is my phone good for scrap....yhanks for youre help
You can try wiping cache and factory reset in open recovery and if that doesn't work I hope you made a back up before you tried metamorph. If you did you can restore that in open recovery and if you didn't you can just restore Dexter's nandroid and wipe after that.
dint do a back up i forgot.im in open rec and douing a restore but every time it does the same thing
its doing a boot loop every time at dexter animation

It's doing this after a fresh nandroid restore? Did you Wipe Data / Factory reset & wipe the dalvik cache?
yes i did,,,going nuts
it says that there is nothing to restore
Try:
1. nandroid > restore > stock221v13 > select system only
2. apply updates if you use them
3. wipe davlik cache
4. reboot
If you were using an update patch, re-apply it. If that doesn't work then try wiping all data:
1. nandroid > restore > stock221v13 > select system only
2. apply updates if you use them
3. wipe data / cache
4. reboot
Warning: In recovery battery can drain faster than it charges. Be quick and get out.
it says md5 not matshed r something like that and then herror nandroid
nope dosent work still reboot to animation
if worst comes to worst you can always reflash your sbf and start from scratch.

Ok. This means your copy of Dexter's 1.3 in the sdcard/nandroid/openrecovery/system221v13 directory has become corrupted. Re-copy it onto the sdcard.
Try reinstall open recovery...then reboot to OR..

[Q] (HELP ME) SGS+ stuck in cwm recovery!

I got a problem whit my sgs+. It doesnt go anywheare from cwm 5.504. I tried to install CyanogenMod 9 and it actually installed but when i reboot it does the reboot and comes back to CWM. I followed thease intructions:
Installation:
Back up your apps with TitaniumBackup. Backup your SMS with SMS Backup & Restore and your call logs with Call log Backup & Restore. Export your contacts to a .vcf file.
First a special version of CWM recovery is needed, FeaMod does not work because it does not set partition sizes for CyanogenMod 9 correctly. The new recovery can restore FeaMod Recovery backups in case you want to return to one later. There are many ways how to install the recovery, choose one:
Flash CWM5504-CM9-recovery.zip inside FeaMod (boot into recovery, apply update from sdcard) or stock recovery
or use Quickflasher from broodplank:
Connect phone via USB, start sgsflasher_x86.exe, activate "Flash a new Recovery", select the recovery.img and press "Start Now".
or use Odin to flash recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 as One Package using the regular AriesVE.ops (Tutorial)
or flash recovery.img using the command line/adb by putting it on your sdcard and executing the commands:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13
CyanogenMod9 comes as a zip that is installed inside recovery. Download cm-9-20121023-EXPERIMENTAL-ariesve-beta3.zip and put it on your sdcard.
Reboot into CWM Recovery
Perform a backup!
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache partition
Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache
Install zip from sdcard (choose cm-9-20121023-EXPERIMENTAL-ariesve-beta3.zip)
.........................................................................................
So the .zip file seesms to install but my phone doesnt open up whit cyancolen or the stock rom... In the recowery menus i can do anythin i want but i think i dont do the righy things so could someone help me?
thanks
Try clearing cache and dslvik cache in recovery and then reboot. . .

1. I flash via flashtool the 6.1.1.B.1.54 ftf
2. I root my phone and install a CWM (LockedBootloader)
3. I copy the TheBrainsRom_v08 in internal storage (after copying META.inf and boot.img from TheBrainsRom_ICS03_lockedBL)
4. I boot into recovery
5. Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> TheBrainsRom_ICS08_slim.zip -> Yes Install.
6. After installation i select Wipe cache partition -> Yes wipe cache.
7. I select advanced and i do wipe dalvik cache.
8. After doing that i select go back and at the main menu of the recovery i selectg reboot system now. I see a message saying ROM may flash stock revovery on. THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE.
What i am i suppose to do now? When i click yes i just see the Sony logo for more than 1 hour. What i am i doing wrong?
Thank you and sorry my bad english.
Hi, im using v8 with 6.1.1.B.10 baseband. As far as i know v9 is for .54
You dobt need to use the locked method of v3
Simply flash stock 6.1.1.B.10
Root and install cwm
Enter cwm
Flash v8
Wipe cache and dalvik (also data if you wish, still not mandatory)
Reboot twice
Done

Flash the zip provided for your phone in above link
Just flash the one made for your device, remember that after flashing you must shutdown the device and boot into cwm again so it read the values at boot.
Status 7 error will be fixed and then flash the ROM:thumbup:

Just restore an old backup or if it's still wiped open the zip on pc and go to "META-INF -> com -> google -> android" and open the "updater-script".
Now you see 3 lines begining with assert getprop etc.
You delete these first 3 lines and pack the zip again.
Now you flash it again without wiping system/with wiping system, now there's no difference because system will be wiped automaticly because it's defined in the updater-script :good:

Well... Flash a Stock based ROM... Or just flash the stock ROM to retrieve system files... And then flash CM without wiping system
I'm not so good at this but still i'll like to suggest some steps...
Since you failed at first time(me too and got the same error), its better to start from the starting...
1.Download the rom again as the zip might be corrupt.
2.Extract the zip and then go to: META-INF->com->google->android
3.Download the updater-script from here
4.Replace the updater-script from the one I gave.
6.Copy the boot.img persent in the zip to any folder you want.
5.Now right click the rom folder and archive/compress it as zip.
6.Place it in your sdcard.
Optional: Download gapps from here(Find the suitable one) and place it in sdcard too.
7.Turn off your phone.
8.Download flashtool from here.
9.Now install flashtool in C: Drive(Recommended).
10.Now go to Local Disc (C->Flashtool->Drivers and install the file given there and choose all the drivers.
11.Hold vol-up key and connect the mobile to computer(blue-led may light up).
12.Launch flashtool and click on the flash icon and select fastboot.
13.Now click select kernel to flash and select the boot.img you kept the folder of your choice.
14.After the flashing is finished check the flashtool if there is any error.
15.If not continue....
16.Now turn the phone on.
17.As soon as the screen gets brighter or any led glows start pressing vol-down button.
18.Now you might be in recovery mode. Do a wipe data/factory reset
19.Now choose install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard and select the rom.
Optional: Do the same for gapps.
20.Now reboot the phone.
If you see your homescreen....congrats you've successfully installed jb in your phone.
Try everything at your own risk.
*Dont format the system, just do a factory reset*
Hope I helped,

Can u post the updater-script again, because the dropbox link is dead.. thanx in advance..

I have messed up my Kenzo pretty bad and now i dont have any recovery or fastboot.

So i was happy using a kenzo with unlocked (unofficially) bootloader.
i had followed this guidehttps://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unlock-unofficially-install-zcx-twrp-t3586778
So i had not rooted the device but just unlocked to use lineage os 14.1
i wanted to record internal audio and so tried to root with magisk. i took a backup using TWRP ZCX on an OTG USB.
successful!
now i installed iFont and installed a font.
this font made some problem in my status bar. there was some extra space above the clock, battery and all.
so whenever an app issued a notification, it crashed. even the system crashed continously.
so i decided to restore my backup.
i wiped my existing data in twrp
but the back up was successfully restored and upon system boot i saw "unsuccessful decryption." upon clicking restart, my phone would flash the TWRP ZCX logo and restart itself landing me again on "unsuccessful decryption."
so i went back to recovery and saw that could not mount /data.
so i did this:
My solution is simples. but you will LOSE EVERY FILE on userdata.
Step 1: Install TWRP
Step 2: Go to Wipe box
Step 3: Select Advanced Wipe
Step 4: Check "DATA" and tap on "Repair or Change File System".
Step 5: Tap Change File System
Step 6: See original format on file system (In my S6 is EXT4). So turn to other and switch back to original
Now /data is mounted back.
from https://forums.androidcentral.com/t...y-e-failed-mount-data-invalid-argument-2.html
It helped and i could mount /data
but then upon another restore i saw the same "unsuccessful decryption."
i read somewhere that a format will wipe all encryption and i thought it might help.
i formatted all the boxes (including data, internal storage and system)
then did a system restart from TWRP
now im stuck with mi logo and i am unable to enter fastboot and recovery.

Don't go to advanced wipe. Selecting parttions doesnt format it. It only wipes.
Wipe and format are 2 diiffrent commands.
There is an option called format data in twrp. Click format data and type " yes " to format data. It will decrypt the data and internal storage.
First format data (must do)
Then wipe data reset
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot
