I have a locked S3 and I have gotten the unlock code for it from my operator. I put in another sim, got asked about the unlock code and entered the 8 digits. I was then able to use that sim.
I wanted to sell this phone and the buyer has a sim from a third operator and he got asked for the unlock code again. This time the 8 digits did not work. When I put in my 2nd sim it works again, and of course it works with my original sim.
As far as I have seen it should be possible to check the unlock status by entering a code on the dial pad. This does not work on my phone. It says USSD code running and then MMI-error.
I think this phone is unlocked and that there may be something wrong with my buyer's simcard, but I have to be sure. How can I check if this phone really is unlocked without getting ahold of yet another simcard?
There is a free unlock on the forum somewhere called voodoo unlock if I'm not mistaken.
Hope this helps

Well, if the phone its locked to AT&T then you call AT&T. There is no way to unlock now though from what I understand unless of course AT&T can for you. This its why you should NEVER just guess at the unlock coffee and instead call the company you bought the phone from or get an unlock code online for less then $20 usually.
To check root install an app that needs root (root explorer works, as does any other asp that says needs root)

Hi all
I am thinking of getting rid of my Galaxy SIi to get one of these. One of the ones I have seen to buy is locked to T mobile so I was wondering if it is possible to unlock these phones as I am on vodagone. If so is it a fairly easy procedure?
Thanks
Impossible at the moment. XPS is a mighty fine device so try swapping w/ some1 or something similar
Impossible? I'm chatting with my phone operator (Telenor) about operatorunlock-code. And as far as I know, the operator-code will make the phone accessible for other operators.
But the issue I got right now is there is no place to enter this long operator-code
I mean: impossible to unlock by yourself if operator doesn't allow unlocking or bills it insanely, and you don't have the money/don't want to pay such amount.

Put in a different operator's sim card and restart the phone.
It'll automatically ask you for the code

I didn't happen to have a microsim from another carrier so I decided to cut one up. For my first attempt I did a pretty damn good job since my phone recgonzied it!
Got prompted to enter an Unlock code.

try this !!
My problem is that when I use a SIM from another carrier and boot my phone up, I do NOT get this: “SIM network unlock PIN” message. My phone only says "SIM card is locked" and want me to type in PIN.

Seems your SIM card is locked. I remember old phones gave you an option to add a pin code onto the sim card itself. There was a warning that if you forget it you're screwed. Try getting a new SIM from the carrier
Hello, I just got Samsung Galaxy S II from UK, on lower back of the phone there is small orange logo.
Are these kind of phones locked to Orange UK or are they sim-free?
Also if posible pls provide me with any links to be able to unlock it manually if needed and pls recommend custom Rom.
Thanx in advance.
You could try a different SIM card to see if it works or not.. If not, then call Orange and ask them for the unlock code. Tell them you need to travel to a different country. They may charge 20 bucks or so. I am not sure if there is a free work around to unlock your phone. Maybe someone else can help.
As for custom ROM, I would recommend using Resurrection Remix
Dial *#7465625# and see.
It spells out SIMLOCK by the way.

this method didn;t show simlock numeric code. It only showed some statuses like network lock - on, SF lock - off, CF and some other.

Any solutions? I can't phone to orange cuz I'm not from UK.
Also. Can I flash SGSII BVKH1 baseband with other for example baltic XWKI4 or it is not possible?
EDIT: Nvm, figuered out about basebands and how to unlock sgs2
Root it and then use one of the unlock code generators on Google Play to unlock it for free
i accidently hard locked my optimus g. If i use other people's rom or any other custom roms on my phone, would i be able unlock the sim lock again?
You set up a sim pin you don't remember?
too many wrong guesses and you will get puk locked. I got puk locked on my gnexus from Sprint once, there was no way to fix, factory wipe, install different rom, Odin restore nothing would work, the phone would still prompt for the unlocked code, took it to Sprint with stock firmware they couldn't get past it either ended up needing a replacement.

Sim lock follows the card regardless of software or hardware, if you have att service there is a puk override however it will only give that option after using all attempts, call att tech, worse case scenario they'll get you a new sim, personally I've never had an instance where the puk didnt work tho so you should be fine.
ahh yes sorry this is at&t problem I had with Sprint was sim was embedded and they did not have the puk key

I bought the phone on eBay, and it's a UK phone, originally on the BT/EE network. I was promised by the seller that the phone would be unlocked.
After inserting my local network SIM card (from carrier in Denmark), the following message is displayed: 'SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK'.
How do I unlock the phone to be used with any SIM?
RossTeagan said:
This means that the previous user, or somebody else, tried to use another code instead of the NCK (SIM network PIN) code and freezed the device, this is why it asks now for the SIM network PUK (https://www.unlockunit.com/blog/fix-sim-network-pin-blocked-enter-sim-network-puk-message/).
You will need now bot the MCK (defreeze code to defreeze the device) and then the NCK (Sim network unlock Pin) to actually unlock your phone.

No it's not that! Your sim came with a code, 0000 or 1234. If you tried for more than 3 times to unlock sim with a wrong code, the phone ask for PUK code. This code is provided by your carrier with you sim. Now there are two posibilities: you entered the wrong pin for more than three times so you must contact your carrier to provide PUK or the seller has done that and you need his PUK code.
By the way, your phone should work with another sim! You could try that to confirm that the phone is working ok

There's a difference between the PIN code and the SIM network unlock PIN. They might look the same way, but there's a difference.
And the message "SIM network PIN blocked, Enter SIM network PUK" is related to the phone's network codes. Notice the "network" before PIN and PUK
EDIT: Here someone who had a similar issue https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/s8-blockef-fter-trying-to-unlock-t3597665

Just ask somebody who has this issue, when the phone displays this message, how many digits they can input in the field if they can input 4(for a normal SIM PIN) or 6 for the actual SIM network unlock PIN

I hope it's alright if I ask this question on this post.I didn't want to start a new post and take up space. My question is that I have a Samsung S9 plus from Sprint lock to Sprint I just heard the service a month ago and I don't have the money to pay it off when I need to unlocked does anyone know of an aftermarket unlock company that would do it for a fee? Thanks for your time and help.

For free nobody! I payed 50 euros to Vodafone for network unlock.
There are services from 18 to 30 USD, just search for sim unlock sprint on google.
I'm having this problem but the SIM PUK isn't working please advise
I got my Galaxy S9 SIM Network unlock PUK from UnlockBoot - they generated the code remotely in 10 minutes. I contacted Samsung and AT&T support but they refused to give me the network unlock PUK. UnlockBoot managed that in 10 min. You can use them also.

If your asking how to unlock your sprint phone because and you do not have the money to pay it off then no one can or will be able to help you.
Someone else asked that kind of question (different carrier though) already, and the link below was the response from a moderator
