Hey folks,
since i flashed the first nightly of cm10 my camera gets a force close when i Try to start it. The error message says something about some gallery error.
I didn`t have this Problem with the unsupported beta of cm10. I`m now on the "yesterdays" kernel but still got no working camera.
Does anybody have an solution?
Thanks a lot.

Do the following:
Solution 1:
-boot to CWM recovery
-wipe cache partition
-wipe dalvik cache
-format /system (under mount and storage)
-flash CM10 nightly
-flash gapps
-fix permissions (under Advanced)
-reboot phone
**with the solution above, your kernel will be back to stick CM10 but your data will be intact**
If solution 1 doesn't work for you, then try the next solution.
Solution 2:
-from the zip of the "unsupported CM10 beta"
-extract gallery.apk from /system/apps
-using a root explorer/browser, replace browse to /system/apps on your phone and replace gallery.apk with the one you extracted earlier.
-change the permissions to rw-r-r (644)
-reboot to recovery
-wipe cache partition
-wipe dalvik cache
-fix permissions
-reboot phone
Let me know what happens
Copy gallery.apk from the zip of "unsupported

I`d try the first solution yesterday but without format system.
By the way I`d never hit format system before.
I`ll try that when I got back from work and will tell what happend.

Solution 1 didn`t work. I did it as you said but still got the same problem.
I was a bit curious cause there was no data wipe in solution one. but that`s right wasn`t it?
Will try Solution 2 in a few.

Try`d resolution 2 but it still didn`t work.
When i paste the gallery.apk to system/app the phone went imediatly to the cm boot animation for like 5 seconds.
Then i set the permissions, but i`m not shure if i was right. when i did "right click" on gallery.apk/ permissions a window opend with 3 rows and 3 collums where i can hit some permission settins. but i didn`T see any r-w permissions or something like that.

well to set permission
in the first row tick the first two boxes and leave the last one blank (thats what sets rw-)
in the second row tick the first box and leave other two blank (thats what sets r--)
in the third row also tick the first box then leave other two blank(thats what sets r--)
so the permission rw-r--r-- is set that way, try and see

So, I've switched to Paranoidandroid from CheckROM, which means that I've done rerooting and installing of ICS via ODIN. Afterwards, I've installed Paranoidandroid ROM v0.6 and HYBRID Gapps and done the rest of the instructions.
I don't know if I've done something wrong in the process (or I'm just a noob), but after few minutes of working and figuring things out, the screen just goes off and animations comes up (I think it's looping) that is similar to boot animation (but it's not bootloop since I was already at the homescreen).
So is there any way to disable/fix that?
I also have problems with connecting to WiFi (gets stuck at Obtaining IP Address) and my wallpaper also went missing and I couldn't set a new one.
Oh yea, I also couldn't find External SD files in Gallery? I seen it's in some folder emmt or something like that, but why it isn't placed in it's default /mnt/sdcard/ext_sdcard/?
Thank you!
P.S.
Oh yeah, sorry for an inappropriate use of grammar, hope you will understand what I meant to say
EDIT:
I also cannot reboot or power off my mobile phone, only if I take out the battery -.-
Full wipe and re flash fails then re download the firmware and re falsh .
jje
I've already tried wipe data/factory reset and reinstall Parandroid ROM + HYBRID Gapps. Or you meant that I should flash ICS Stock again and then flash Parandroid?
EDIT:
I'm flashing Firmware atm (Nordic Countries one). So I should add CF Root afterwards and then reflash Parandroid and it's stuff?
Tried it, I still get that animation loop after few minutes of usage =/!
(Had to post here since I can't post it at Development)
Did you try redownloading the rom, if not then redownload paranoid rom and then reflash it.
Re download, do the corresponding wipes, re flash, fix permissions just in case.,.
Should work
Thank you on your responses, I will try it asap and provide further info about it.
EDIT:
Redownload and reflash didn't work out =/!
this called hot reboot, I guess you need to format your internal sd card, use odin to flash the stock firmware, then flash the rom you like. And by the way, your external sd card is located in emmc, you can use an app called directory bind to bind emmc as external sd card, search the forum , you can find the instruction to use the app.

hello.
It's a known issue . Response from the original thread:
set phone and contact apps to 240 (custom DPI) or more simply to "Phone DPI".
It solves the problem.

Hi guys,
my phone started crashing when I copy things and I couldn't paste anymore. So I googled and found this fix but many people keep saying do "full wipe" or "factory reset" and still most people don't like wiping their phone. you DONT need factory reset !!
There are two fixes and both require root:
Does NOT work for JB !! only ICS 4.0.4
a) To be able to do this guide you MUST be rooted!!...............
1. boot recovery (CWM) > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
2. reboot phone > Root Explorer > delete /data/clipbord/* (Star or asertik "*" means everything inside)
3. reboot recovery again > advanved > fix permissions
4. reboot phone > it's fine
b) This also requires ROOT...
1. Root Explorer > delete /data/clipbord/* (Star or asertik "*" means everything inside)
2. Settings>Application Management>All(tab)>>Scroll down to>>TestService and clear its data
3. reboot phone > it's fine
Re-booting is a very important step please don't skip it !!
I got this from a different forum, I tried the first method and it worked for me and I hope this works for you all  Good luck !!
JB Users try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31128304
All credits go to Jkay for the JB fix, I just added it here to put the fixes in one place .

The clipboard folder has to be there but the problem is the test service app, clear its data or uninstall updates.
The best way to fix it is to factory reset... but I hope we will find a better way

You need to remove the Odex file in the cache or wipe the cache partition (doesn't cause any data loss, just a longer first boot next time you restart it)

Hello Guys,
I Just installed JB AOKP by bajee11 and PieR. To me, this is one of the best Roms I've tested so far. But there is just one Problem. No Camera App is installed. Maybe someone has the original Camera APP from the S2, so i can flash/install the app. I tried a few other Camera apps, but they were not quite good, or maybe I haven't found a good one yet.
Thx for your help.

It's not only that the camera app is missing, there is no Activity capable of handling android.media.action.IMAGE_CAPTURE. So what you are saying sounds quite weird...

Yes, I have heard of that but it semms that its ddifferent with this ROM. There is no camera icon in the top right corner in gallery. So either there is no camera app included in this ROM or something went wrong with the installation. Is it possible to install the stock camera afterwards?

There are two ways:
1.
-Extract gallery2.apk somewhere.
-Using a root capable explorer e.g. root explorer or Solid Explorer, copy the extracted gallery2.apk to /system/app, set its permissions to rw-r-r
-exit the explorer and reboot phone
Or

u have to push the gallery2.apk file to System/app folder of ur phone using root explorer/browser, then set permission to rw-r--r-- then reboot ur phone and the gallery2.apk gets installed and u will have ur camera back

I always thought, that installing a rom over another rom is not recommended. I allways made a fullwipe to avoid complications.
I know its the same rom, but you wouldnt install a windows over another windows without formatting, would you?
But maybe its a different story with windows.

Taken picture quality AOKP app vs. original Samsung app from Rom v.4.0.4?
Hello,
I remember once having read, that the original Samsung Camera app is doing the best in picture quality. Is this still true or will the camera app in the AOKP rom will come up with the same result related to quality?
Thanks for clarification!
I was trying to disable the shutter and focus sound settings of my camera when I messed it up.
Device: Samsung galaxy s2
Android Version: 4.1.2
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-Jeboo_Kernel_v1.2a+..........
Service provider: Optus Australia
Okay! I hope that the above detail is sufficient now let me tell you what I did wrong.
I was successful in getting rid of the shutter sound and I was reading around to find a solution for disabling the focus sound too. Followed this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058850) to disable the camera focus sound and probably I have lost my camera.
1. I first copied the SamsungCamera.apk file to a my internal SD card folder (Using ES Fileexplorer).
2. I unzipped the newly copied folder using the same ES fileexplorer.
3. Entered the folder name raw and deleted the focus.ogg sound files.
4. Zipped it back together using the ES fileexplorer and named it as SamsungCamera.apk
5. Again back to system\app and deleted the factory SamsungCamera.apk file
6. Copied the edited SamsungCamera.apk to the system\app folder.
7. Tried to install the app -Unsuccesful
8. Camera is not working anymore:crying:
Please help!

Yeah, I was expecting that... Here is the file I saved at some point from the stock 4.1.2:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2594409/SamsungCamera_Stock_4.1.2.apk
When you copy it to the /system/app folder (rename it to SamsungCamera.apk), make sure you set the right permissions (-rw-r--r--), and don't try installing it -- just reboot the phone.

* 'Clear data' and 'Force stop' the Camera (v1.5) app in Applications. The cache is always 0.00 so I can't clear it.
* Software factory reset (several times, sometimes entering setup data, other times leaving it blank, sometimes connecting to wifi and trying to get an update etc)
* Recovery mode and Hardware factory reset
All produce the same error so I was wondering if I should try this camera rom? Will it work for the SGH-I727R?
Was also thinking about flashing it with Cyanogenmod 10.2, mostly to play with CM but also to see if that for some reason fixes it.

Hey, would you re-upload the file, please? I've been having a lot of trouble with my camera.
EDIT: Will it work even though I have kk 4.4.4?

Thanks, I will try it after I flash another ROM (I found out that the camera works 'almost' normal with the stock ROM).
App won't install

The app won't install, it says "app not installed".

I don't get what you mean by almost normal.
What I mean is that it didn't work flawlessly, it froze from time to time, but most of the time it worked good.
