Hello,
I have flashed cm7 and recently i have noticed that my USB port does not work! . I searched in play store for stickmount but it says that my device is not combatible with this version. When i try to download it from other external sites it says there was an error parsing the package. Is there any solution to make my USB work?
USB is working.
What are you trying to do?
Attach an USB Stick?
Are you sure that the OTG cable you are using is OK?
are u talking bout the usb host or the mini usb port to connect to pc, eyther way for me only the host works, but that isnt such a big problem for me except the fact that i cant connect to pc?
I am trying to attach a usb stick directly but the archos does not recognise the usb.
AGAIN, and you are using an OTG Adapter?
No i am not using an OTG cable. I am trying to connect it directly through the usb port.
Are we talking about a A70 or an A101?
A70 NEEDS OTG.
A101 is known for "blowing" the usb-port. That was fixed in the last FW ( 2.3.84 and UD 1.6.4 ) but not in CM7.
I have an archos101. What is FW 2.3.84 and UD 1.6.4 . Are they more stable roms than the cm7?
FW == Archos Firmware
UD == UrukDroid
I can't ( don't want to ) tell you what's better for you, you have to search for your self in this forum, there are tons of infos about that.
I know! Thank you!

When you plug a USB thumbdrive to the phone, it first recognises the drive name but doesn't show any options to use it (even in file manager).
Maybe it's due to the connection type (MTP only)...
Any ideas?
Can you access your files in your USB thumbdrive using the file manager?
I'm using Astro Manager to access, and play my video files directly from the USB thumbdrive.
In fact, I just realised I can access if I keep pushing the cable to the phone... Maybe the cable connection isn't that good. I'll buy a new one.
New mission will be to enable wake using volume key which might be more difficult...
Thank you for your answer!
On my tablet , I use USB host ( full usb connection ) , which means I can plug in a pen drive , keyboard , mouse etc...

Hello!
I have a question.
I would like to plug in a pendrive to my phone. I have OTG cable and I have installed the USB Host Controller app from the market. But it says S3C usb host driver not found. I think i need that to mount my pendrive, but I don't know where can I find and how can I set up this driver.
Thanks a lot
I am having the same issue, mine is a xt910 rooted but with stock ICS ROM.
No idea how to install the driver in the kernel or if that can be done on a non custom rom.
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
It's plug and play, just plug the OTG adaptor in and then plug your pen drive in - it will load the drivers as it needs them.
I did exactly the above with my phone before I rooted it, so stock JB ROM works just fine for OTG.
I'm running Android 2.3.3, build Gingerstreak 2.4.4 -- Just purchased a Streak Mini 5 USB Host OTG Adapter Cable Connect Standard
USB Devices ( 140853176551 ). When I plug in a USB memory stick, the light on the memory stick blinks, but nothing happens on the
Streak screen, no USB Host mode. When I plug in a mouse,it appears to work but with erratic movements. Am I missing some software
or driver or do I have to change some setting or use a particular kernal? Any suggestions?
change to dsc rom... it should work correctly..
I followed the recommendation to update to DSC 2.2 but now I have NO OTG functionality at all. I want to be able to open a document from a USB memory stick. Can anyone provide further guidance?
Hi,
i recently gotten hold of an allwinner A31 device being the measy B4K. (http://www.measy.com.cn/product/showproduct75_en.htm)
I also gotten hold of a firmware update for this device from a guy that was in contact with measy support using a chinese friend:
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread....S918S-firmware&p=130534&viewfull=1#post130534
firmware rom download is here : https://alimail.alibaba.com/alimail...eb961&[email protected]
Now from what i've seen from other a31 devices is that you have to use the phoenixlivesuite to upload the firmware and you need usb debugging for this (the tool itselve says so also). but the device only has 2 female usb ports and no usb micro port not even on the PCB that i can see when i opend the box. One of the guys bought a normal male to male usb cable and tried in the diffrent usb slots but was not able to get any response. some others said that you need an usb otg cable but does that even exist for a usb male to male cable ? (if so where) if not would using a micro sd cable from my phone with a usb micro female to usb male adapter do the trick ?
also the img file is in some special format but it can be unpacked well almost all files using the tool from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1753473 and it gives me all kind of *.fex files like uboot.fex, recovery.fex etc it only had problems with one fex file being sys_partition.fex but i did get a system.fex of 400mb.
i have root on the device also and i can get into recovery mode using a reboot to recovery apk however it's useless since i can't move around in it, the remote don't work, nor a keyboard attached to it and it has no physical buttons.
Anyway my main question is what sort of cable should i get to get this work a usb male to usb male or just some usb female to usb male adapter + usb micro phone cable to get usb debugging working so i can at least get windows to recognize the device.
I'm also posting this for other people since i don't think many people know about that firmware file for b4k, perhaps others having the same device have more luck
thanks
Hi,
does any of the countless i9100 (not "G") ROMs have OTG support?
Best regards,
toshibashi
CyanogenMod does support OTG.
Just checked with CM12.1.
And when i remember correctly, Cm11 worked as well.
I have cyanogenmod 12.1-20160106 Nightly-i9100 kernel 3.064-cm-gd71763e [email protected] #1. I have enable Android debug brigde and usb debbuging but OTG is not working. The cable is tested on a sony experia tablet and works fine with usb mouse and usb flash drive. I have also download several programs like USB OTG Helper, Stick (something), and others i don't remember. One of them said s3c usb host driver is missing. Any idea how to fix OTG?
Thanks in advance
What is OTG?

OTG is the ability of a phone to connect USB devices with an adapter connected to the microUSB port. You can connect keyboards or USB sticks, for example.
Well I run stock CM12.1 and never had any problem with OTG. I don't know if it might be the problem that your USB OTG adapter is not from Samsung?
