Hey guys I was over at the sgs2 forum and saw some threads about this. I'm a frequent gamer and would love to increase graphical performance

You will need a custom kernel.
If you look in the dev section there are loads to choose from.
Also, the dev of your rom (If you are on a custom one) will probably recomend one.

I think he is talking about GPU overclock, not CPU overclock.
Overclocking a GPU will often yield a marked increase in performance in synthetic benchmarks, and usually will improve gaming performance too.

There is a generic thread about it here, but other than that I don't know if and what can be done on X10.

Yes I know very much about CPU overclock. But I'm talking about the graphic processing unit. For gaming. If we overclock that our gaming goes up. And also I always have my phone overclocked no matter what

The thread I posted is about GPU overclocking, take a look!
The OP says that after research, he found out that GPU overclock is not possible in Adreno powered devices.
So, I guess the answer is no.
Yeah I read your link. I hope we can possibly come up with something though

Why, is it not fast enough already?
Seriously, though, to do any overclocking we first need a custom kernel. So far no one has released any yet. I've been trying to compile the kernel for I9100G, no success yet.

Maybe I'll give it a go if I ever get my kernel done. I've got it compiled and running, but no wifi. I think Samsung cheated with the source code. Some bits are missing or misconfigured, like the battery drivers. Just got that out of the way, so working on the wifi now.
Other than the CPU speed, I'm also interested on whether it's possible to overclock the GPU. Our OMAP4430 is virtually identical to the OMAP4460, but with lower rated speed. The SGX540 chip on the 4430 in running at 304 MHz versus 384 MHz on the 4460. It'll be interesting if we can make ours running up to 384 MHz.
Possible.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm still stuck at the Wifi. I've been tried to get it up for three days now but I don't seem to be any closer to a solution. Just wish someone could give me some pointers. Can't get started on any kernel modding until I get that sorted out.

Finally got it! Turned out my init.rc file was missing a couple of lines required to make the wpa_supplicant service start up properly.
Woo hoo! I've got my own kernel now. Will post it when I get the chance.
Will try it if you release. No custom rom available but at least do have custom kernel to try.
wow good job
i hope that one day we can try a custom rom lol
there's some awesome roms for I9100 out there it's really a shame, is it that hard to tweak em a little for the I9100G ?

why do u want to overclock in the first place.since 1200mhz is more than enough for the beast (ur GS2) to wrk efficiently. do rewert back, since overclocking or undervolting will always lead to issue's like, overheating, random freeze's and reboots rather than improving the performance

Galaxy S2 is very fast! There is no need to overclock your device. If you are looking for the best stats and performance for the Galaxy S2. Go back to Gingerbread. Meaning install a custom gingerbread based Rom and Kernel. Mix and match different Kernels and Roms until you find a Rom and Kernel that suits you. Remember its not all about the best stats on benchmark tests. Enjoy your phone!!
Can someone with an overclocked S3 1.6ghz or 1.7ghz please run Geekbench?
I want to see the score vs the new A6 which just got featured and i cant run overclocked myself right now.
Thanks
Is Geekbench an accepted Benchmark? How accurate is it? The scores seem to be all over the place with the Nexus 7 with the crappy tegra 3 beating the GS3 in one test while the GS3 beating it in another. Don't really trust it if the results change on the fly like that. haha

I posted some scores on Beyond3D:

I'm getting 1854, 1574, 1292 respectively for 4, 3 and 2 cores. So the final score doesn't seem to scale that well with cores, which is obvious consindering there's single-core performance tests.
Here's the Exynos [email protected] 1Ghz with only 2 cores for a clock-for-clock comparison;
http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/compare/1032330/1030202
And here's @ stock 1.4Ghz with 4 cores, frequency locked:

The A6 clearly and undisputedly has the upper hand here. The score may be lower but we're talking about vast IPC and frequency disparities here. The Cortex's are getting slaughtered in memory bandwidth.
And here's a 1704MHz bench for the hell for it: 2283 score.
Would be interesting if somebody with a Krait phone would run it at 1GHz and stock frequency respectively.
I hit 1800 at stock on Jelly bean Omega rom V26.
I might try and clock this phone and see what happens

Any benchmark tool will be 'all over the place' depending on what is running in the background. Yes, you can turn off wireless, BT, data etc., but apps will still be launching and closing in the background which will affect the score. After all, these are supposed to be multitasking devices aren't they ?
Also, it's an inaccurate score if you actually go and forcibly disable system apps that would be running on a stock device, just to get a faster score.
Best way to use ANY benchmark tool is to get the device as near to stock as you can (consider a rom flash / data reset followed by very basic config) and then run the test a few times and take an average score. When I run benchmarks (Antutu, Quadrant, Geekbench), my results are often 'all over the place', so if I go with just one test, it would be luck of the draw really.
That said, my average score on S3 stock, rooted, unclocked in Geekbench 2.3.4 is 1586.
Funnily, when overclocked, the average was 1537
im on official (unofficial ) jellybean im updating to the latest leak now then i will come back with results that rape apple a6 cpu hard and in the arse
1830 at stock is my best so far without optimising anything other than a reboot.
The scores are higher on everything other than Memory Performance which is where Apple have beefed up the SoC.

This benchmark tests a combination of single and multi-threaded tasks. So obviously it will be all over the place when comparing an A9 quad-core phone to an A15 or Krait dual core phone. The phones also run differently clocked/speed memory, so tasks which are memory intensive would give a higher score to phones with faster memory.
I'm running Siyah kernel on Omega v26.1 and consistently get scores between 2000 and 2100. Only over-clocked to 1600MHz though.

Hello it is a bit of time (specifically since I switched from Android 2.3.6 to Android 4.0.3) that reflected this problem:
pretty much as we know the processor of our galaxy s2 is 1.2 GHz, but I do not know why when I do something a little heavier than the 800MHz processor crashes ...
For example if I'm on the Home Menu or APP processor (with the Performance setting to see if it was left to 1.2GHz) remained at 1.2GHz, while if I start some game or some app a little heavier than the processor down to 800MHz and stays until I am not to put it back to 1.2GHz, so I created a slowdown ...
Do you know why and then tell me how to fix it? Thank you ...
[Currently I get on the CM10 kernel with Siyah 5.0i]
[But I found this thing up even different kernels and roms such as:
ROM: Stock LP7 (4.0.3), LPF Stock (4.0.3)
Kernel: both those stocks with the Roma Siyah 4.1.5]
I already tried to do the restore factory
I apologize for the English but I am Italian
I would try and help you but I have no idea what your question is...
