Data dropout since upgrade to ICS - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

With Gingerbread I was amazed by the speed of the internet connection. But since I've upgraded to ICS I have a lot of data dropout.
Internet pages doesn't load fully, facebook or google play doesn't work even if I have the little H and the arrows.
I checked the APN and the are exactly the same, I change my sim card.
I've tried every official builds and custom roms without success.
But yesterday I've tried something new, I've modified my APN by removing everything (Proxy, port, username, password, ...) except APN, APN type, MCC, MNC and APN protocol.
And now I don't have anymore problem :laugh:

i tried to switch data on and off but it didn't solve the problem for me. however, after fixing the persmissions in recovery, i was able to see the APNs and more importantly, i could change them. the data still drops out but if you go to apn settings and then switch to a different APN, it will restore the data connection.
i have replicated my APN, so i have 2 with the same settings, and then when data drops out, i just simply switch to the other APN and viola i have data back online

I found one solution for me. See if it usable foor you.
I install this app from market https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paulshirley.android.giffgaffsetapn
And i make the install for root user and finally i can change and create new apn's.

New X10, no 'Data Traffic' button?!

Hi all, okay so I had an X10 mini and brought an X10 on ebay, swapped my sim over and immediatly wanted a few apps installed but when it came down to it, I actually have NO option for data traffic in my 'Mobile Networks' section of the phone, surely this isn't right? Anyone experienced the same thing or anyone know of a solution or resolution for this problem?

MMS and data!? This is internet connection! !! I don't really get your problem...
Have you run the "Auto internet settings" wizard?
I am unlocked and debranded but I do not get the option to set the auto Internet setting option
any clues?
Your apn settings could.be wrong

What network are you on? Data is enabled there, you probably don't have the APN for it is all.
Casianm, correct I didn't have the correct apn settings. Thanks all sorted now.

Are you also on the last update? 026? Some of the option were fixed in later updates.
I don't have any "APN" settings, and the "Auto Internet Settings" is not highlighted as is in the screen shot above. I'm on T-Mobile UK, and was wondering where I'd be able to obtain the "APN" settings, or for some kinda fix for this issue. Thanks

[Q] Tethering issues... specific version?

I am unable to tether with my device. Rooted using RUU that was released a few weeks back. Is there a specific version of the google wifi tether to use? What version is working for ya'll?
Thanks
I use the stock rooted device. Have not updated as of yet. Tethering works well but have not tried google WiFi tether. I just go to settings, enable tethering from the wireless section and it works reply well.

Oh, I didn't try a stock tether. I will try in a few after work and report back.
I don't see the tethering app.
What is it called?
I think it was removed? I Have no hotspot app from att
I enabled tethering and WiFi hot spot in build.prop after which in settings tab under WiFi settings, it appeared as such. Will reconfirmed exact lines to edit.
Edit: line 25 and 26 in build.prop
25 ro.wifi.hotspotUI=1
26 ro.tether.denied=false
These are the 2 lines which I had changed. On doing that, it shows the settings under WiFi settings tab. Unable to upload any pics to show you but I hope you can trust my word for it. Will upload once I am able to.

Right.
When I edit the build.prop in Root explorer's text editor and save it, it actually doesn't save.
It goes back to 0, true.
arg?
Read only.
how to mount as writable?
got it. thanks
Yes, mount as writable using root explorer, edit the file, save it and then reboot, it should work after that. I am sorry. Had assumed you might have already made the changes to the build.prop and I had forgotten that I had edited it for this functionality.
Edit: to mount as writable, use root explorer, you will find a button on top left side of screen saying r/w or r/o. Click the button till the file opens with text editor.

Hey thanks stylez, I am currently on Indian GSM operator Reliance and the APN settings are vvery well defined, infact correctly.
But the data does not seem to work. Do not know what can be the issue.

here are the settings if you are having any problem to configure
For the 912XT there is this program:
Restore Connectivity Settings
Motorola Mobility, Inc
Once again it's for LTE - the only reason I say, is that maybe I can't "See" a Restore program for the 910, because of my network/model/country.
Flashed ics again...data working fine now.

[Q] Tmobile S5 on AT&T

I bought a pre-owned T-mobile S5 to use on AT&T. I've sim-unlocked it, rooted it, installed CM12 on it. However I keep losing service. This is NOT an AT&T issue, as the tablet sitting next to it is on AT&T and works flawlessly. Do I need to flash a new modem? Or do something else to make this work closer to flawlessly? I already searched the forums and couldn't find anyone with my problem.
Thanks in advance.
Possibly you have to edit the APN settings. I did a small thread on what you need to do to use a Tmobile s5 on AT&T:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/help/tips-using-g900t-att-t2975336
Thanks, I assume when I inserted the sim card, the APN info was loaded, as I've not touched that part, and it's already on my phone. That doesn't seem to be my issue. Any other suggestions?
I've been having the same issue for months. I went back to a stock rom and recently came back to AOSP, but I forgot I was having constant signal drop.

I am having the same issue. Can you tell me what modem/rom are working the best for you? Thanks!
Solution!
My particular solution does require xposed and gravity box module.
I noticed that the cell signal issues only happen when I'm connected to WiFi.
I created a tasker profile that toggles mobile data off when wifi is on and changes the data mode to 3G only. I used the toggle data 5.0 plugin (see for details) in tasker to toggle to change to 3G.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I then used the gravity box "change network type" action (see for details) to change network back to LTE and I used the toggle data 5.0 plugin to turn data back on when WiFi is disconnected. I guess this would be the end task?
I took a screenshot a couple hours ago of the result. Not one signal drop in 3 or so hours. I'm no expert in tasker, and these are the exact steps I followed.
I was having a similar issue with CM12.1 on AT&T using the G900T I actually posted on their forums about it: http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/106617-lte-issues-cm12-tmobile/ however it looks like they're has been any resolution..I had no issues running stock, and when I installed BlissPop (CM Based) I had no issues at all.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will try them out.

No you have to edit the Apn often times.

Device May be Monitored

Does anyone have any idea what this means? Or have it on their devices? I factory reset the tablet when I got it, so I can't think there'd be anything wrong with it from that perspective. My guess it has something to do with the user profiles being messed up or something. It's just a little message that sits right beneath my Quick Toggle tiles.

check out the Proxy Setting and VPN
if nothing set ask your operator about it
:good:
I got the same notification last night, with the same "null". I don't have a SIM-card in my Z4 tablet and every other device works fine in the WLAN, so I guess I won't have to worry.. (?)

No Proxy settings or VPN active... And I would like to contact my operator or the distributor, but I got it shipped from Hong Kong, so I doubt they have anyone that speaks much English, and I only know a little Mandarin.

Maybe that's the cause of it. I never put a SIM into my Xperia Z4 either. I'll try taking my SIM out of my phone and sticking it in there later tn and see if that does anything.
I synced my work account with the email app and also have this msg.
I have the same message after 1 week of using on the WiFi version SGP712
