I have tested the Bluetooth patch alongside of ICS Crumble, and unfortunately it is still unresponsive. But, don't give up. I am confident that you can patch it for AOKP. You have done what no other has. Thanks to you, CM9 is that much more functional with Bluetooth.
Do I see a camera patch in the near future?

Yeah I already tested it on ICS Crumble. I'll try and find a way to make it work on AOKP. Regarding the camera I have a rough idea in my head of what I could try to get it to work, so it is possible. I know gmillz is also trying to get the camera to work

My bad. I took "not working on" ICS Crumble/AOKP to be one in the same. So, I figured I'd try it on ICS Crumble since it's AOKP. Didn't mean to muck up the post.

So its down to two missing things with our ICS.... Great job dude! How did you manage to not break other stuff though?

I think the way JackpotClavin's rom was modified didn't work with other roms so I had to modify some files slightly to get it to work. Just trial and error really

Awesome!
On a side note, I know why the camera is broken but I don't know how to fix it. I've told gmillz about my suspicions and we will be working on trying to get it working

Why don't we move HAL module to a place Camera.apk can reach it? We can mod the camera app to find the module in the directory we put it in. Would it work or no?

EDIT: The way I see it is, Camera tries to load HAL module and HAL module connects to actual camera hardware. There would be a problem when HAL module can't connect to camera hardware right?

Yeah but I don't think there is a HAL module. We need to find the Nexus S camera drivers and stick them into our kernel.

The problem is most likely in libcamera.so and similiar cam's libs.

Yeah I've tried it and it still doesn't work for some reason. I tried the GB camera drivers and it still didn't even boot. I'm going to try and use some files from the Nexus S as it is closer to the player 5 than the SGS

GB's libs dont work at 100%, i have tried sereval times, Nexus S and Galaxy S have the same procesor like SGP5, but SGP5 has also similar chips to galaxy note/SGSII.
The first what we have to get is... full specyfication of SGP5, we can send a mail to samsung, or seartch somewhere, if we will get it, we will be able to work effective.

I should ask Samsung to help me with my touchwiz rom XD. Then we can have a fully working official ICS rom (If only). I mean their only reason for not giving the i9000 ICS was that touchwiz didn't fit on it...

Well, for what it's worth, I speak Korean; and will see if I can find some detailed specs on the SGP 5.0 somewhere. I'll try digging around for them some time after work, but don't hold your breath.

Thanks. I don't think its specs we're missing though. We know what CPU, GPU and board we have. What would be really useful is some kernel drivers that work on ics

[WIP] S-Note CM9 - UPDATED

I've seen interest in getting S-Note working on the CM9 release and wanted to share the status of my work. S-Note highly relies on the framework for an advanced clipboard service. I have worked part of today patching the missing bits from the touchwiz framework into the cyanogen framework and have resulted in the following 90% working S-Note.
Although it runs, and doesn't crash when accessing the clipboard anymore, I still receive an error and believe the service just hasn't started. Will update as I get further.
Thanks!
UPDATE
Worked out the advanced copy service, now working on the missing resources for the copy dialog. Who thought modifying the res apk would be harder than the rest? If you got tips besides apk tool let me know. The code patching is done.
UPDATE 6/5/2012
Finally had some time to work out the resources issue. Going to now out together build scripts to automate building / patching and update for the latest cm9 release. Will be looking for testers in the next week or so. PM me if interested.

+1. Only thing stopping me from running CM9 on my note...well one of two...the other is a stable camera/video.

I'll probably end up going AOSP or AOKP either way; but s-note and the s-calendar are what has me dragging my feet.

Jelly Bean on HP Touchpad with Working Audio

I know the fix for audio. I have CM10 (Jelly Bean) on my atrix and the fix for audio works on all jelly bean roms for any device. It just needs an xml file. If I could get a flashable ZIP of the alpha rom I could fix the audio and show others how to fix. I would like to confirm it first but I am 99% sure this will work.

This isn't a fix for every device out there... there is no "one fix all" for every device. Just because it worked on your Atrix doesnt mean it will work here...
I'm porting JB to my phone and I have no sound but I have media_profiles and codes in /system/etc
Usually sound problems in JB are dealing with the HALs since so much changed in terms of HAL since ICS.
I beleive for us actually that the Touchpad is still using drivers from GB for sound, wrapped though. I don't know if JB supports this though.
Let me resolve this thread...
There is still work to be done before the Jelly Bean release can be made.
The fix presented here does not resolve anything for the Jelly Bean build. Thanks for the input,, but it does not provide us with anything that we do not already have.
There will be actual info released as it becomes available. Until then, you may speculate all you wish.
Cheers!
Man, that video makes me wish I didn't sell my touchpad yesterday :/

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Keyboard availible here!!!

The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Keyboard can be downloaded here as a CWM flashable .zip. I found this on another website (Not XDA) but if it's against the rules to do this sort of thing please let me know as i'm new to posting zips ect. The keyboard is off 4.2 not 4.1. It has the swipe gestures and improved word recognition. The only difference I can see is that the word above your finger when sliding across keys has no box around it. I flashed it and all was well apart from the fact that after flashing it CWM came up with back button disabled and I couldn't select anything in CWM so make a backup unlike me who stupidly forgot in the rush to flash it!

Remics-UX is CM9 based on the SGP 5/4.0, and CM10 on many other devices. As far as I know, Supermaster34 will be porting a CM10 build if/when it's ready for our device(s).
There was an apk but that was only for stock ROMs.

I'll also be developing RemICS-JB for the galaxy player 5 and maybe 4 when they get CM10. DIFFERENT CAMERAs for i717

hi...i was wondering if there were any different camera apk's that i could flash on my i717 Note. i am currently on Jelly Beer 3.35. I'm looking something from a different device that maybe has different tools/options than the one on this ROM. i beleive the camera that it has is the ICS one. ive heard of people using camer apk's from Motorola, HTC One X and other devices but not sure how they did it. i didn a search but couldn't find anything for the Note i717. could someone please point me in the right direction......

I have tried to get a logcat but there is literally so much spam going on with my current Touchwiz rom that i find it a waste of time to comb through it or upload it.
