Device isn't working - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hello, I've been trying to figure out how to completely reset and unroot my Galaxy Player 5.0 US and in the process accidentally got to the point where it won't boot and was wondering if anyone could help...
The devices will start every once in a while, does not get to a boot screen but shows a little phone with two dots beside it and beside that a yellow warning triangle followed by two more dots and then a computer beside that. Seems to be able to connect to Odin, randomly shuts off after a while then eventually starts again in a loop.
Where should I go from here?

What you are seeing is forced download mode. You can just flash a stock ROM using Odin and it will work again

[Q]Vibrant hangs on Startup

Hi all,
I have a problem with my Samsung Vibrant (Tmobile T959). One of my friend from America gave this phone to me. But it has a small problem. Everything was working on the phone at Turkey but phone can't detect local storage (16 gb). I thought it was a software issue so i tried to re flash the machine. I downloaded stock kernels via samfirmware and flash with odin. But now at the boot screen (Vibrant) it hangs and shut down. Than i tried to flash eugene's stock rom. Now machine automatically enters the boot menu on every boot and said Can't mount E:.
Did my phone bricked? I need to recover my phone. Is there any suggestion for that case?
Look in the noob guide and see if there is one of the methods you have not tried, I recently ran into a similar problem and had to to use a Jig to get it back, you can make one for 2-3 bucks or just buy one for 8 bucks from connextion2005
Just need to get into Download mode and then Odin back to stock, then root and load a custom rom of your choice
Yes i tried everything on the noob guide but still the same. T959 close it self after 5 seconds from Vibrant logo appears.
If you can get into download mode and have odin working on a computer there is hope! There are a few ways to get into download mode to

please help, bought and broke galaxy tablet today :'(

okay, so I bought a basically brand new galaxy tablet 10.1 today, and rooted it using this method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185
no problems whatsoever, re-booted and everything seemed fine. I then tried to install BigDX Xoom|Zoom Theme and the **** hit the fan...
it would load my lock screen, but instead of a lock it had a TINY picture of a little grey lock inside of a grey square, if i tapped it and then tried to slide it "it wouldn't just slide" I would get an error message and then the tablet would freeze and restart. if I didn't touch the lock it would just keep restarting about every 45 seconds. I went back into ClockworkMod Recovery and did the factory reset "maybe a mistake?" it asks me to select my region but then gives me an error message and keeps restarting. can I just restore original firmware through odin or something like that? I'm not much of a hacker, just occasional customization stuff.
please help me... I never even got to use my tablet, this was the very first thing that I did

You can also download a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin if you didn't

I didn't really know about backing it up before I did it... ... so I guess next time I should root > backup using the same recovery clock screen "volume buttons"> and then as long as I don't completely brick it restore from that?
I'll try re-flashing through odin. what do you think happened? no one else seemed to have a problem with that theme, and I really like the way it looks.
also I'm kind of confused by that site... which firmware do I need?
What device do you own and where are you from? Need english based rom?

If you just bought it and don't care about your data, just odin back to stock. For instructions, here's a video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYBs98R9rTs and here's a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474971 look at the second half of the first post.

Custom Unlock Icon on Boot, what does it mean?

I have what I think is an unusual booting splash screen. It is the first thing to show up after turning on.
I also booted in to the Odin menu just to see the status and took a picture of that.
I just got my phone today and have done nothing other than install normal applications, I haven't tried to root or flash anything.
I watched a video of some other verizon SGS3 owner turning on their device and that unlocked lock icon and custom do not appear.
Anyone know what this means?

You will probably get a better response if you post this in Q&A. I don't know the answer to your question though. I am curious what they answer is.
it comes up once you've flashed something using odin
if you'll notice on the third image, next to "SYSTEM STATUS:" it says "Custom" this means something other than something official has been flashed to it
i'd really like to know how you did this
me too
Like I said, I haven't done anything. I have actually not even plugged it into my computer yet via usb cable.
Maybe it came rooted

Its not rooted
I suspected that and tried to just download superSU and it doesn't work, says phone isn't rooted.
Assuming you bought yours brand new from the store, I'd go back. But first I'd try removing the microsd card and booting up. Then try the SIM card, then boot up again. If its still the same, something is up with your device. It keeps booting up into download mode. :S
I don't think he was saying it boots into DL mode on its own, just that he went into DL mode to confirm he's not running anything custom, which it appears he is not.
Strange that it would show the custom boot image when you're running the official ROM. I don't know that that's a bad thing, or that it's worth returning the phone. Might be worth calling Verizon and talking to them about it. At the least you then have a record that your phone was doing that from the beginning, so if you have to return it later on after installing custom ROMs, you can say it was always like that

Please please don't return to VZW. See if a dev can help you to get dump. You could be holding the key to save tens of thousands of us.
This is very interesting. Subscribing to thread!
Although yours isn't rooted and perhaps not unlocked, the devs can check out what's different in your device through a dump and it could assist them in achieving root and unlocking the bootloader. I don't really know a whole lot about developing, so maybe that's not possible

[Q] S3 stuck on endless reboot

So this morning and last night my phone was working perfectly until it decided to reboot, but since then it endlessly reboots show the the "Galaxy SIII GTI9300" screen. It comes up, goes black, then it shows it again. Ive looked around for other fixes but i can't enter my recovery or download mode. When entering into recover, it works for about 1 second then the phone reboots so I am unable to do anything, I can enter download for a few seconds but pressing the volume up or down to continue doesn't do anything.
I am using foxhound 2.4 and Siyah 1.9.1
I don't have an overclock, I've tested another battery so I know that isn't the issue.
I haven't done anything to it so I can't think of a reason it would be doing this. How can I fix it?
looks like sds
Any fix for it? I can't access recovery or download mode and my PC doesn't pick up my phone, should I take it in for repairs? Will they repair it with the custom ROM and kernel?
send it in, looks like it's the only option
From what I've read about SDS, I am by no means an expert, you wouldn't even be able to interact with your phone. The fact that you see the boot logo means that it isn't SDS. I am not sure what I'd do though, as you cannot enter download mode and flash a stock ROM from there.
If you send it in to service, I guess they will find out about the flash counter and modified status and all, and you would have to pay. On the other hand, if that is what it needs it might be worth it.
Sorry I'm not more helpful...

If it try access recovery or download it just reboots again. Without the charger nothing at all happens now.

Mije is actuall the 32Gb Pebble, I'm also hoping that it's completely dead though because I honestly can't think of how they would even go about getting the phone to boot since the screen will only come on while on the charger so I doubt they can use anything external, I'm sending my phone in tomorrow

Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium HD app
So I sent my phone in for repairs and somehow they managed to fix it and get it back to stock. Before I gave it in I never had a red exclamation. As soon as I rooted it when I got it back it now has the red exclamation. Today my phone entered a bootloop doing the exact same thing but eventually worked. Not sure if it was the ROM. I'm considering flashing back to stock just to be safe. Doesn't seem like I can get rid of that exclamation without doing so. They sorted it out for free. I'm just worried they will say my warranty has been void next time

4.4.2 Bootloop | TWRP Hangs + Phone Hangs on Samsung Custom Screen

As I have frequently done without issues, I was flashing a ROM and got stuck into some sort of bootloop.
Here are some details..
I was on a 4.4.2 KitKat ROM (Gummy Nightly) and decided to try out SlimKat 4.4.2. I wiped (advanced wiped System, Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache). I proceeded to flash the ROM and then the gapps file. Nothing out of the ordinary.. I rebooted and noticed I was at the samsung custom screen for a little longer than normal.. I didn't begin to worry too much because sometimes this screen can appear for a little bit before continuing when first booting into a fresh ROM install. Well.. quite some time passed and it became apparent that it wasn't going to go any further, I restarted the phone and consistently got stuck. I tried booting into TWRP and couldn't/can't get past the TWRP Blue Loading screen. I tried letting it sit for a long ass time (1 hour +) and same with regular rebooting at the Samsung Custom screen (1-2 hours +) with no luck or change.
I have a backup but can't get to it obviously. I'm quite frustrated and am confused/worried about attempting any drastic measures because all of the different phone versions/bootloader discussions/issues. I don't want to mess up the phone by bricking it or something when trying to flash the wrong file. I believe that right now the only thing I can do, if anything, is connecting my phone to my computer via a usb cable and running that ODIN program? I'd be inexplicably grateful and appreciative if someone can just give me some steps/instructions so that I can get my phone back up and running. I'm without a phone right now and am stressed out, so I'm hoping that I haven't made too many people upset with me if there's already somewhere this is answered. I searched but can't find someone with the exact variables my situation contains.
To Recap:
Phone will not progress past samsung custom warning screen as well as TWRP Blue Logo screen no matter how much time passes (Have let sit at either screen for hours)
Was flashing SlimKat nightly (the most recent two days ago) coming from Gummy nightly (1-12, I believe).
The samsung custom screen comes up and then the phone reboots 2 seconds later and comes up again etc..
I never had to use 'safestrap' or whatever. When I got my s4, I was able to avoid the update and was always able to flash ROMs without any worry or concerns.
Please XDA, Help me out here.. I'm completely stressed and worried and don't know where to go from here.. What files to I manually push from my computer.. I don't see how I can solve this without a computer because recovery wont load and ROM won't either

Hey I am having the same problem after trying to flash the latest version of hyperdrive, and my phone got stuck on the Samsung custom screen and I'm not able to get back into recovery even. I saw what you said and plugged my phone into my pc to see if odin could see it, but odin didn't recognize it and I even tried on Kies and it wasnt able to connect to my device either. Is there anything else I can do? or any solution?
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!
This happened to me several times when i was using Gummy a few weeks back. I just kept doing battery pulls and restarting and was eventually able to get into TWRP. Try this some more and then odin.....
I have been trying to get it working with your advice of battery pulls but no luck. I have downloaded ODIN and installed and also downloaded the two tar files (the kernel and pre-source kernels). I *think* it's good news that ODIN/computer DOES see/recognize that my s4 is connected and disconnected. The issue I'm having is that when flashing the kernel, it does the first green bar and says PASS but the phone restarts and enters the bootloop (it restarts right into the Samsung Custom screen and will stay for a minute and restart again and again)..
I feel like I'm so close but so far away... I know that there's someone reading this that may have the solution or advice to help me get on my way.
I'm still without a phone and I know that there is certainly no one else to blame for my situation then myself but regardless, I would like to see this problem solved! I have a backup on my external sd and there's obviously no way to get to it since my phone won't actually let me into the recovery. The blue TWRP screen just hangs...
Please HELP!!! what can I do????

Just picked up an mdk s4 which was doing the same thing. I odin back to stock and booted into the phone to make sure everything was good. Then I went back into odin and flashed the md2 pre release kernel then booted again into stock and proceeded to use motochopper.
You shouod have 3 files. The mdk tar file and the two kernel files. Worked like a charm for me you sure you're doing the steps correctly?
