Stuck in quite a jam. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am on Koodo in Canada with this phone, and for a long time I was on resurrection remix, and never updated, so I tried to upgrade to the new JB one but I lost my unlock. It was unlocked via Heroez app and worked fine the first time. after alot of trial I got to stock and re rooted my phone following the advice of a very nice xda member Jokesy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844547
I should add that no matter what I did before him, I tried heroez app maybe 20 times, nothing happened at the end.
He got me root and told me to try Paranoidandroid which I did and it was cool and I kept unlock but it was buggy because I accidently used the not most recent but second most recent, and then i tried upgradeing and it just screwed it all up, so I tried restoreing rom backup to before installing the para originally, with unlock. Nothing worked again. I tried restoring efs backup which I made with unlock. Nothing happened. I even tried just tonight attempting to go back to stock, reroot again. Again nothing happened. Somewhere along the line though instead of asking me for unlock code, it asked for network lock code, and now it says I am on Koodo, but I can't call out or do anything and have no data, or anything. I got all the firmwares that I went back to stock with from sammobile. I tried all for my model and in canada but the one that says sasktel since I restore that first time after paranoid
Not sure what I can do to get this working. Also after the last time mentioned of going back to stock, When I install cwm(I used the method in the link up there) when I go down to install su busybox, it freezes for the first few times after going down one. and it seems my external and internal sd card were switched... I have to go down to internal sd card to get my external stuff
What do you guys recomend? I am leaving this here and then gooing to bed so I will see in the morning
*EDIT*
I also notice before my phone says I am on Koodo, it says telus, but either way it says I have reception for phone calls but only phone calls I think, and the reception bar is grey.
Somehow I can't call out but my girlfriend called me and it got through to my phone?:S

I'm waiting for other guys to come up with useful info that may help u and still keeping an eye on in this thread.
Check your external SD, there is a folder named EFS_BACKUP
make a copy of this folder on your Pc, and don't delete this folder.
It may be useful very soon/later.

[Q] Random rebooting during calls

I'm having a problem with my Vibrant. I've looked through the threads & can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I bought my phone second-hand so I don't know how it was rooted, or what was done to it before I got it. It was 'clean' when I got it, so there were no added apps or files or anything. I started having problems with storage space. I would get a warning, but when checking there was plenty of space. I did a factory reset, & I got a force close, so I did another factory reset & it was fine. It's running Open Kang ICS. It was on it when I got it, & was still there after factory reset. I used Titanium to back-up & restore my apps. (I've backed up with GO backup too, but didn't use it to restore). Since restoring I've been having issues with my phone rebooting randomly. It's happened in the middle of a phone call 4 times now (so far). I also have an issue with not being able to turn my screen on. I try to unlock the screen & nothing happens (but it's still on) & I have to take the battery out & put it back in & turn it back on. My brother suggests a new ROM, but I have no idea how to do any of this. I didn't flash this one, & I didn't root it. My brother didn't root it either (he rooted my previous phone) so he doesn't know how it was done. Any help would be appreciated (including step-by-step in language I can understand LoL). I have tried installing ClockworkMod Recovery but for some reason I can't get it to work on my phone.
The vibrant bible thread has a tutorials section that links to some pretty good tutorial.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547730
and the Vibrant AIO toolbox is a great program to help with rooting and flashing

Here are some codes you can use just like you are dialing a phone number. You can even perform a factory reset. http://androidforums.com/vibrant-ti...ck-built-day-time-firmware-gps-test-more.html
Use with caution, I personally have never used these codes.

[Solved] Factory Reset, now boots to language select and then black screen

I have the GT-S7560M through Solo (Bell) and I rooted it shortly after purchase last year. I've been happy with the phone and for the last few weeks an upgrade notice has been appearing but would fail when applied. Some searching suggested the root was interfering. At first I started to look into un-rooting the phone, but then thought that a factory reset would be the simplest, least-risky solution. I had done a factory reset on my last Galaxy phone without a problem so it seemed like a safe choice. I backed up the contact info, etc with Kies (I don't use many apps so I didn't go all out ie Titanium Backup) and removed my SD card.
Now the phone boots to screen asking me to pick a language and press Start. Then it moves on to a black screen with the info bar at the top (clock, cell strength, data xfer) and nothing else. It is auto-rotating. The phone does react to touches with the buttons lighting up, but I can't get anywhere. Kies can see the phone, the phone number, the firmware version and all that. It reports Internal Memory as 84.83MB used of 1.58GB. I can navigate through the phone using Windows Explorer. I did a Restore with Kies but it doesn't seem to have had any relevant effect.
I am able to boot into CWM Recovery. I don't remember doing a back-up with it, and when I ask it to restore from either the SD card or the interal SD it says it can't mount.
At this point I would start thinking about taking the phone back to the store, but a flash counter appears during start-up and I'd rather they didn't see that for obvious reasons.
When I google I just get people who have bricked their phones. I just want my phone to work again. I'm not worried about modifying it further to achieve that.

I've just finished doing that, and it appears to have worked.
For anyone else with a similar problem who finds this thread:
- Go to the FAQ here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45767157#post45767157
- Download Daver18qc's root kit at the link provided (you'll have to scroll down to the second post). You want this to get Odin; don't worry about the zip's other contents.
- Go here: http://www.sammobile.com/ and register. It's free and all it wants is an e-mail and your country.
- Go here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and type s7560m in the search box. The list will automatically update. I'm a Solo customer and chose 'Canada (Bell Mobile)'. When I first tried this in Firefox I would get a screen telling me I wasn't logged in. I tried it in IE (which I never use and so is 'clean') and the download went through.
- Go back to the FAQ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45767157#post45767157 and scroll down to 'Short Tutorials' and 'How to Flash with Odin:'.
- One thing it leaves out is that when you boot into Download Mode, you will first get a warning screen that asks you to either press Volume Up to continue or Volume Down to abort and reboot. Not a big deal but it caught me off guard. Odin will not detect the phone until you get past this screen.
- Continue with the Tutorial. After it is done you will have to setup the phone again. But at least it's working now.

Can't receive SMS. Everything else works.

I've tried about everything that I know to do and have found suggested around the net. I'm sorry if it's a double post, but I didn't see the problem listed anywhere.
Galaxy Note 3 : Rooted, but worked fine until last week.
I can make calls, send and receive MMS, can send SMS, but not receive. I've been to the Samsung store at Best Buy, Sprint Store, and no one has any idea.
Here is what I have tried:
Factory wipe and reset.
Odin newest stock rom (is this what they consider firmware at the sprint store?)
Installed the SAC23 Rom
Installed other messaging apps
Update prl, profile and all of that
Switched the sim card between phones and it didn't work with a different sim card. Did not work when I went back to the original sim.
Sprint tech support says the network is fine and there are no problems with my account that would cause any issue. Our other phone works fine.
I am at a loss. I'm hoping someone here has an idea. I'm going to go to the sprint store in another town as the BB guys suggested. They're apparently also a repair center.
I don't know enough about how the phones operate to know if what I'm doing would actually change things. It seems that a wipe and different roms not making a difference would seem like a hardware problem to me? I can't imagine a hardware problem only being with receiving if everything else is working. I've only had the phone since November, so I'm hoping that they'll swap me for another phone or something. This is the first phone that I haven't bought the insurance for and of course it's screwed up.
Thanks for any help.;

OK, first back up all your data to the desktop of your PC ( music , pics, etc. ) pull battery, reinstall and boot into stock recovery. Now do a factory reset while in stock recovery use the power and volume buttons to navigate. Now pull battery, reinstall and boot into download mode. Use odin to flash whatever .tar you want. ( NC5, NH7, NK4 ) .
Let it go through the first time user boot up, skip through everything do not install any personal info. Once you are at the home page pull the battery, reinstall, boot into download mode what does it say ? It should say status SAMSUNG OFFICIAL on both lines. If one or both say "custom", pull battery and reinstall, boot into recovery do a factory reset and go through the process again.
So many people flash a custom rom have a problem and then odin flash back to stock only once. Which will leave the bootloader in custom status and you end up with a dirty flash. When I go back to stock, I always odin flash 2 or 3 times to make sure it catches all of it.
Here is my thread if you need more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/samsung-note-3-rom-flashin-basics-t2896440 Enjoy !!!
Awesome. I'll try when i get home. Hope it works!
I've been holding off on rooting this phone and used this as an excuse to put something new On for a rom.....well i want thinking and this thing is still on warranty, but I'm betting they'll reject it some knox has tripped.
Thanks

S3 Complete OS reinstall

Hello androiders,
Recently my friend drowned his S6 and told me that he needs a spare phone. He has one, but it's messed up he said. So as a good friend I took that phone home and it appears to be Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 international model for baltic countries. The phone was always kept factory set and never rooted or tweaked in any other way. I am also a really early begginner in this android business, so I am not completely sure what I did.
At first I thought, well, no problem I'm just gonna connect it to Kies and do an emergency recovery. But no, Kies downloads the files all right, but hangs on 0% when installing, also the phone doesn't show any progress bar in download mode. So I abandoned the Kies idea.
Then I said ok, let's try Odin. Got the ROM from Sammobile, checked the tutorials and tried flashing. It went okay for about 80% and then said "FAIL!". After browsing through the abbyss of Google I found that you have to extract the missing.img file and reformat it o .tar, then flash it again. Did that and it semi worked, it started booting! BUT nothing lasts forever, the phone started showing error messages in red and it looks like the phone cannot read the data flashed into it.
So, people, I am asking for your help. I think I need to delete every single crumb of information from the phone and write everything manually in it. Or don't I?

Need Help With Galaxy S7 in Bootloop (Please :( )

So I posted the following on a few other places
(please expand)
I am in desperate need of help . Yesterday, I woke up and went on my phone and it was acting strange. It was saying that apps that I wasn't using had stopped working or something like that, which was pretty weird, so I decided to restart it. However, when I tried to turn it on again, it got to the carrier screen (I have AT&T) it didn't do anything after. It just stayed on that screen and vibrated in a pattern. I was able to hold home + power + volume down to restart it, and I was able to get to the recovery options screen. I tried clearing the cache and all the data, but no luck. I tried flashing the stock firmware but I couldn't find anything new enough. I had rooted my phone about 5 days earlier, but it had worked perfectly fine up until yesterday. I tried everything I could think of and find online. I recently called AT&T up and they're sending me a new phone, but I have to send my phone to them, and I feel almost certain that they'll find that I've been messing with it. Whether it's the giant lock with the word "Custom" above it, or something in the files. I have 10 days to send it in to them and I need a way to either fix my phone, or wipe ALL of my phone's data before then, but I feel like completely wiping everything might void the warranty as well. I'm not even sure that the root caused the problem.
I do have friends who have the same phone as me, would it be possible to somehow get the most recent firmware off of one of their phones and get it on to mine? I have the G930A and I couldn't find firmware recent enough for my device. I have read A LOT about this issue in the past day and I vaguely remember something about being able to get someone at Best Buy or some other store to flash the most recent firmware onto the phone? Is something like that possible?
Please help, I can't afford the $600+ if it doesn't pass. Any and all ideas are welcomed. Thanks .
After reading some stuff here, I have found out that I can somehow make a backup of the stock firmware. I wouldn't actually be using my phone to make the backup since I don't actually have the stock firmware. I wouldn't be using my phone to make the backup, I have friends with the same phone and carrier. All I need is direction on how to do it. I have a Galaxy S7 (not the bomb edition) and my carrier is AT&T, although I'm not sure that's needed.
first do a factory reset then flash latest stock firmware from sammobile

sammobile.com doesn't have G930A which I need. I've been finding it from other places but none of them have worked so far.
