I'm just curious and wanted to know if I'm the only person who is annoyed by sprint and htc in their design of Evo 4g lte. I was with T-Mobile and i had the freedom to merge two calls regardless if I'm the one who initiated the call or not. Also i had the option to drop any of the merged calles and keep in line with the other one without dropping the call. And finally i had the ability to end a held call if I'm talking with another person.
By the way htc one x and one s have these options, i checked the user manual already.
I just wanted to know your opinion and if there is anything that we can do about it.

I think the evo 3d had this problem as well it always bugged me

I think sprint doesn't want ti provide these options, i don't know why. I thought what if any of the developers would port the htc one x rom and adopt it to work on evo lte. At least i want to have the ability to end the held call.

He claims he has 4G working with boost mobile on evo 3d.
I am almost certain this is a marketing scam...

Yeah, he was like, "They run off sprints towers".
But then I thought about it and I'm almost 100% certain, sprint has a lock on there wimax, like a giant router with a wep key...
No they run off clearwire and since sprint owns 51% of clearwire they let u use their wimax. You wouldnt have a clearwire account on boost hence no wimax. There used to be a way around it about a year ago but clearwire has since patched that up.

In theroy, if you have a clear account, and you activate your EvO on that account... You could get 4G on the phone...

Just wandering gamespot.com and noticed an article referring to GTA 3 coming to iOS and certain higher end Android devices. Rockstar listed the Evo 2 as one of the devices. After Christmas search it looks like HTC is dropping sprint as their device carrier.

I'm almost 100% certain they're talking about the Evo 3D. Also where did you hear this rumor of HTC dropping Sprint. That's insane they would lose so much money. HTC has been working with Sprint even before android devices probably their biggest provider in the U.S.
Probably. a typo ...think. they meant. Evo 3d.

Link? Besides I seriously wouldn't count that as valid with any weight behind it.
And the EVO line is exclusive to Sprint within the U.S. & it's available internationally on other carriers.
Ex:
EVO WiMax (Japan)
EVO 4G+ (Korea),
EVO 3D GSM (Canada/Europe/Unlocked)
Yep I saw this article too and I'm sure they meant the evo 3d.
I think you may be right about the Evo 2/ 3vo confusion. The article I found was here although there is no link to any info on htc dropping sprint. Must be speculation.

I thought the whole EVO line was named by Sprint and only for Sprint...at least in the US.

I remember buying my HTC touch from sprint a month before the Iphone came out. A much better phone, even though it had wm. Then the HTC Pro, Pro 2, EVO,EVO 3d. If they do drop sprint which is highly unlikely, they will loose a loyal customer.
Ps. it also works for Samsung galxy tab 7 plus if interested. Side loading needed.

Every time someone says "Evo" HTC gets a nickel. There's no way they would drop Sprint. HTC makes as much money as they do by getting their products on as many carriers as possible. Every phone you see that they have put on Verizon, At&t, and T-Mobile were basically just rebranded Evos.
Ok since my post yesterday got mistaken I guess people thought I meant data speeds I didn't. I had data on 3g while I made a phone call which usually isn't possible over cdma
Look at the status bar in the picture...
If its not rev b then is sprint giving us svdo which allows data and calls at the same time on CDMA

welcome to 4 weeks ago
Ok thanks then didn't know svdo was around since it wasn't announced... Thanks

Has anyone had problem texting while on a call? I can do data, but texts don't go through.
Come on guys let's search....

So as the title states, I'm considering trading my evo for a GS 3. The LTE continues to drop and I've heard that the GS3 doesn't have these issues. Has anyone here traded successfully at the Sprint store? Thoughts?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
you should ask this question on the gs3 forum...
HTC EVO LTE
It's not so much a preference question as it is a possibility issue. Wondering if anyone has been successful in explaining the LTE issues and getting a GS3

I think what he is trying to say is, if they successfully traded they wouldn't be in this forum anymore.

You may want to read around. The gs3 & evo lte have simular problems according to LTE. They both used to drop in and out of LTE. Samsung/sprint is or has upgraded the firmware to hold LTE and if I'm not mistaken the evo LTE issue is in the process of being fixed also.
Go into the sprint gs3 thread. There are radio signal complaints & also lte to evdo complaints. Honestly though I wouldn't blame the device, both devices are bad ass,and pretty simular when it comes to soc hardware. If you really like the gs3 and willing to trade beats audio, photographer style screen, kickstand, sense and the f.2.0 camera then by all means go for it. The gs3 is very fun when it comes to software modding. But in the end its all the same

Tell sprint u have LTE issues they might swap u like 3 times then offer u a trade or they might trade u right away
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Don't do it the gs3 sucks imho my brother has one and stock vs stock EVO wins everyday use his does nothing but lag garbage
Viper4G 2.02
liberty kernel v1.10
hboot 1.19 S-off
What specifically makes it suck? I want to get in on this LTE, but it looks like it's not happening with the EVO.

Since more and more people are posting LTE hits here and there on their devices, has anyone noticed the improved call quality they hyped when they announced the EVO LTE?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Not really..it was suppose to work with the EVO LTE only for HD voice.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
The only thing HD I've experienced with mine is less High and more Horrible...definition. Sprint reps excuse "They are updating the towers"... The response to this is "We can send you a signal booster aka AirRave" when I told the rep isn't HD only working if the party you call has a EVO LTE and they couldn't even answer. Looks like sprint is heading back in the negative when it comes to good customer service. Oh well, still love my EVO and can't wait for the update, hopefully next month :-S

We got an Airave for the house and it actually helps a lot. If you get ish service at home call retentions and have them send you a free one. Hope you all have better luck. :good:
