Ok since my post yesterday got mistaken I guess people thought I meant data speeds I didn't. I had data on 3g while I made a phone call which usually isn't possible over cdma
Look at the status bar in the picture...
If its not rev b then is sprint giving us svdo which allows data and calls at the same time on CDMA

Just make any call, and let it connect to sprint, they will activate your radio and ask a couple ?'s to verrify info, then you shall be good. This happens to a lot of people even to my wife and I.
I can make calls as long as I'm not in roaming

Just a shot in the dark, but have you checked your roaming settings?
I am having same issue, Verizon intercepts the call and tells me I can not be verified.

I am in a chat with them now, I called and they told me take it to sprint, WTF
I was having this problem to. Calls on Sprint network were fine, but no incoming or outgoing while roaming. I had my wife's phone and it was also roaming, but working fine. I called Sprint and they had me do a battery pull then a profile and prl update. I don't know if they did anything on their side, but it is working again.
same thing happening to me. ill try batt pull and update and when roaming again test it and check back in.
Same thing happened to me, in addition to getting a error code 64 class 2 (Radio Interference Resource Shortage) when I tried to send a text message.
I called Sprint and the rep had me pull my battery while she did some reset. It didn't work. She then transferred me to tech support that remotely reset my phones data. That fixed my problem.
Is anyone having problems with roaming lately? My phone keeps bugging out and saying I'm roaming one second then saying i have full bars the next. Anyone have any idea what may be happening?

Awesome response, very informative.
I had the evo 4g before the 3d and find that I do roam more with the 3d, but never have an issue where it would just switch back and forth like that.

I thought it may have had something to do with that update that was pushed out. I manually updated my prl and profile and it said an update was applied but no change. Rebooted a few times and it calmed down and when back to normal. Hopefully a temporary thing. I have great signal where I live so I bummed me out to see that I was roaming all of a sudden.

I have had the same issue with the 3D as well . I can be in a Sprint coverage zone and it will jump to roaming for no reason at all . I can honestly say my EVO 4G never did this . Dont get me wrong I like the 3D but signal issues and so forth Im missing my 4G more and more lol .
This just started happening a few days ago. Mobile data drops out..no 3g or 1x. Seems to happen on multiple roms, think its a sprint issue. Anyone else?

Try calling sprint and have them reset your signal.

Did you happen to flash the vm firmware? That could cause your described issue.

What are you using to bypass the proxies? Where I live 3g is horrible and lately 4g is getting worse

Yea sprint is whack in some areas.. some areas it's decent. T-mobile 3g is always consistent and heck even faster than sprint 4g sometimes. They need to improve service because it's not reliable.

yeah... sprint 3G has sucked for me for like the last 6 months. I think they are intentionally throttling down and degrading 3G quality in towers where 4G is available. that seems to be the trend I am noticing. This way, it encourages us to move off of those channels and free up traffic for others who dont have 4G. Just a theory. But my worst 3G speed / signal is in areas where 4g is available.
I broke my 3d and had to reactivate my old Hero but i cant get any data cuz the area where my account is active (Dallas 469 area code) is having issues so even all the way down here in houston i cannot get my phone to provision on the network because its pulling from Dallas where the problem is. So i have no data at all!!!! Rep said it would be next friday b4 its fixed but they will credit for the time im without data. WTF?

So I was wondering about something, My sister got a text from Sprint on her GSIII and it said we wanted to inform you about upcoming upgrades to the network and such crap and it mentioned something about 4G as well and I wanted to know if anyone else had ever received this and if so did it accompany a tower upgrade to 4G in your area. I ask because I've been with Sprint for a while now and have never received a WiMax or LTE tower near me yet (closest is a couple hours away).

Back before 4G was placed pretty much everywhere around me (Camp Hill, PA), I recall getting texted about WiMAX (very slowly) being introduced. I never received the same text for when they converted to LTE.

I looked it up on some other sites and it looks like it doesnt have much to do with the upgrades, it seems to be just a random thing to keep customers.
I also received the text. No updates in my area yet.

My Gf actually just received one of the texts about upgrades a week ago, that had been made in her area (westland, Michigan) where her phones billing address is, and the 3g speeds are finally bearable/more consistent indoors/outdoors, unlike before where we would both struggle to get 1x indoors....so looks like it's based where your phone is registered/billed at....so there might be some truth in the upgrades happening and the texts corresponding to them...

So, I've posted this before with no success. I'm on Viper. I don't receive phonecalls. My calls go straight to VM. No Google Voice. Yet, when I was riding down the highway in another county, my phone rang. All options unchecked under settings. Any last ideas?

Weird in in CM10.2 and I didn't get any either (it wouldn't even let me place a call even though I had full bars) and when I tried to listen to my voicemail it said it couldn't be fetched

If anyone was curious, I had this issue resolved by a Sprint salesman. The techs and Sprint techs via phone could not fix the issue. It had something to do with the phone being provisioned with 3g/4g. He said he had never come across such a hard troubleshoot after so many dialer code resets, etc.

I had this problem on a palm pre, they had to reprovision my phone in order to get it to work.
