hi am a newbie.recently rooted my s2.ics 4.0.4 is installed.when i open the camera app,it wont take any photos.please help.it was working great before rooting.i did unroot but had the same problem.i did a factory reset and still the same problem.the screen black.however when i use the back key,the camera takes the picture.it launches the camera after i press the back key.i dont know what to do.the camera and video wont work.also i got a kernel installed.will it affect the camera.please help.is there a new camera version.it wants to work.think some app close or interferring with the camera.
flash a kernal like siyah 4.0.1, it has the camara fix built in the 4.0.4 version had an issue with the camera, it works but the screen is blank.

J rooted and unlocked i9100,but after rooting,when powering phone,it showes a yelow triangle
and also camera and video problem,bluetooth dosn`t work and phone SN 000000000...

Hello, i wanted to update my S II, because 4.0.3 is slow since i got it. Till now, i read that there can be some problems when you update to 4.0.4, bricking or what not. I don't have any previous experience whatsoever, so i would appreciate if someone would like to help me. What do i have to do and not, to prevent something screwing up. Thanks.
SOLVED!
The process is simple, download odin v1.85 (google it) and then go to sammobile and find the 4.0.4 firmware. Once downloaded press the volume down+home button+power button at the same time and hold for about 10 sec. Your phone should now boot into download mode, press vol up to continue. Next plug your phone into your pc and open up odin, you should get a yellow box light up, if not then install kies and then kill the process and try again. After that is done press PDA and select the downloaded file from sammobile (extract first) and press start, that installs 4.0.4 on your phone! Now to install siyah kernel (to avoid brickbug) google siyah kernel and download for S2 and like we did before reboot into download mode and choose pda (.tar file) and press flash, congratulations! You have 4.0.4 brick-bug free!
Note: use siyah kernel 3.5.2+

I can make pictures and record videos, but i can't see what am i recording or shooting live. When the recording or shooting is done, i can see what i recorded or shot.

Because i can take pictures, but i can't see what i take, it's just plain black. But the pictures are fine. I also noticed that just second before closing, the camera is working. Then when you start the camera again, plain black.

For this problem
If you can't, remove the battery to turn it off, pop the battery back in, then hold Volume Up, Home, and Power to boot into the recovery.
Once in the recovery do a full wipe.
If you are flashing a ROM it's always suggested to do a full wipe before flashing the ROM.
If wiping doesn't work then restore for a previous backup (I hope you did a backup before you did whatever you did since you weren't being detailed in what you were doing at the time).

Check the latest firmware available for your region on www.Sammobile.com.
If you are having latest firmware then wait for updates and if not then flash the latest firmware via odin after downloading from www.Sammobile.com for your region.

thats the stock kernel ma8, if u want to root ur phone then find a cf-root kernel matching LPW the last three letters of ur Build XXLPW.
Or better mate just flash syiah kernel much better then cf + u get tunning options

Doesn't really matter what your kernel version is. It doesn't stop you from doing anything especially when its going to be replaced with CWM or Siyah

I found chaifire CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPW-v5.5-CWM5 and yes the phone was rooted again, But when i got in my car i could not get a bluetooth connection and when I try to enable bluetooth in the settings menu it can't no error no nothing it reverts to the off setting.
I dont know if anyone els has the same problem or if there are other problems I hav not experienced yet and they may have a sollution i haven't found yet could you be so kind as to share?

I'll advise a custom kernel e.g Siyah, Dorimanx, Speedmod, etc (not CF-ROOT) to avoid the infamous brick bug.

I'm sorry to be such a noob with rooting stuff.
What i want to my phone is clockworkmod recovery and root.
Does all of those give me both of them
Oh, and to be exact, I want to keep it simple. So, no custom rom or anything. just the basic root rigths and CWM recovery.
