Hey guys,
it's been a long time since I was last here on x10 forums, but yesterday I found my old x10 laying on the bottom of my boxers drawer lol...
But my USB Connector is semi-broken (I can charge it, but no ****ing way of connecting it to the PC, it won't recognize it no matter what I do: tried new drivers, flash tool, pc companion but obviously no success...)
So here am I, asking for you guys help once more after a long time break... Is there a solution to this? I don't want to send it for repair...
My kernel and baseband are:

If there's no solution, is there any reasonably updated rom which will work on this current setup?

What USB cable r u using ? Sony, HTC, Samsung, Nokia or generic? It just may be cable issue...
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app
My x10 charges fine but the usb part of the connection is really dodgy and can flicker connect/disconnect if not at the right angle, the port socket itself isn't loose but the cable connector wobbles inside the port (if that makes sense).
This is with the standard SE cable, plus numurous other BB/Nokia etc.

If you don't want to repair then all roms/kernels supposed to work for locked bootloader will work for( I hope you dont have unlocked boootloader).
But theres one problem.
Are you rooted? and xrecovery installed? because there's no way other than flashtool to install xrec on gingerbread.
you are on riight baseband.

Yes I have xrecovery, and Im rooted... but will my baseband be compatible with any locked bootloader rom?
! more question... I tried Z's cm7 rom and I get loads of WLODs... I remembem back in the day when I used to flash roms to this phone, that whenever I tried to use a custom kernel, I get those infamed WLODs... Do any of you happen to know how I can avoid them?

yes .71 baseband is the latest of all. It will work.
Also WLODs are generally due to your phone cant handle overclocking more thand 1 ghz. So just flash non overclocked version of doomlord for locked bootloader from xrec. Then try cm7zmod. It doesnt give WLOD to me so most probably its OC.

It was a long process of faults...
(phone rooted)
--> In the beginning i flashed the phone with the firmware of the mini and not mini pro, so buttons+keyboard not respond
--> then pushed metamorph in the phone to change the theme and applied some themes, so in a reboot it showed the app roadsync cannot be loaded and then bluescreen background only, no menus, nothing to interact with
--> tried to restore with SEUS or pc companion but i have the latest firmware...

i think you can only pay 10 euro to davinciteam.eu and flash a pro firmware
Even if SEUS or PC Companion tells you that you haz the latest firmware, you can still perform a repair/reflash of the firmware.

Yes, and you dont need USB debugging or even to switch on your phone.. Switch off your phone, launch SEUS, connect your USB cable to phone while pressing back button on the same time when asked, and let SEUS do the work...

No i haven't.
Something to do with my pc? Erase something from registry or what?
- Was using Free X10 Beta 4, Changed Brightness Settings, Phone crashes
- It will not turn on, but it does vibrate when holding the power on button
- The Phone is recognised by USB and comes up with the Green Light although
does not update in SEUS - "Product Cannot Be Identified" (I've deleted/replaced blob_fs, still same problem)
- Attempted to update firmware with PC Companion, Does not work, "Download Error"
- I've also attempted to installed a generic firmware through Flashtool, whilst it takes a very long time to flash it finishes although phone remains not working after.
What is wrong? I've simply changed brightness settings and it's crashed. Please help me get my phone working, I need it urgently.
This has happened once before although I've been able to reflash the firmware via SEUS although this time it isn't identifying my phone.
How was your battery level?
Ive never heard about this situation in particular but i believe if you search there are threads on unbricking an x10. Take a look around the forums and search unbrick x10 and see what you get.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Battery level was near 100%.
The Search seems to be down, could anyone link me to an unbricking tutorial on here?
Thanks.
Bump..
Unbricking method doesn't work (just flashing via Flashtool with generic firmware). On top of that it takes ages to flash via this method for some reason.
Anyone have any idea what the problem is?? The phone should be working fine, all I did was change the brightness setting and then it crashed.

I can't right now because I closed the Flash Tool although when it gets to flashing System it disconnects and the LED turns red, it then proceeds to saying everything has finished, disconnect phone and turn on.
Is your usb cable okay? maybe the problem is your usb cable. As of right now its IMPOSSIBLE to brick the X10 due to the bootloader not being cracked. The only problem can be your programs, cable, or maybe you dropped your X10 one to many times.
If you do get it sorted, you cant set brightness to auto, will cause a crash. This was highlighted in z's original freex10 thread.

It's not my programs, cables or computer as I've just flashed my friends X10 and it worked perfectly. I've never dropped my phone, It's done this after changing brightness setting on FreeX10 Beta 4.
It's also not the battery as I've tried using a friends battery and still the same problem.

I see most of you dont know how to recover your phone using pc companion.. Alright, first you must have the latest Sony Ericsson PC companion which you can find here..
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...ads/subject/pccompanion/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
1. Backup all your data and apps! (to be safe)
2. Open up PC companion and click on support zone (do not connect your phone yet)
3. Click on the Phone Software Update
4. It will says could not find phone because you havent connect it yet! so, dont connect it and click on the repair phone like this picture ---->

What proxy did PCC use?
new software found error
during the repair there was following error:
new software found something like that..the process lasted for about 6 hrs
what to do?
Device Name XPERIA E dual 1605
firmware version 11.3.A.1.39
ROM: Stock ROM JB
Original Problem
device is on Rooted stock rom.
was trying to unlock bootloader..the process was successful and then I removed the usb and tried to switch on it only to realize that its in Bootloop
As stock ROM does not has recovery I dont know what to do now..Any idea?
Download "Sony Update Service" and restore your Sony Xperia E dual to original firmware again.
This will remove root access ( which you can apply again later).
For more detailed information you could ask for support in the Sony Xperia E forum as they'll have more information to provide than us in the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i forum

By all means, I'm dumb, so to get this clear, this means that, if he repairs his phone, the original firmware that came with the phone will be installed or it will just reinstall the newest update available?
Sorry... let's say I'm a bit frustrated with something dumb I did and I want to see if I can revert back XD...
THanks in advance guys
I'm quite sure that it installs the latest official Sony Ericsson firmware.
I've done it before, after softbricking my phone and it works perfectly. But after restoring you do need to unlock the bootloader again and root the phone before you can continue with installing a custom ROM.
With the flashtool provided, it is a piece of cake.
I have tried most of solutions, repair mode says they cant find the software, update service says software is up to the latest.
I cant flash via flashtool as its always connected and disconected
Im stuck at SE bootloop
this is what happens when i try to flash via flashtool

Btw this section is for the U20i/U20a. But as far as i can see you have a X10 (because flashtool says "Selected Sony Ericsson X10i_blablabla", not an X10 mini or even X10 mini pro.

I installed via CMW Mini CM7, it worked fine, then i installed Sonystyle and after reboot ive got a bootloop on SE logo, i wasnt able to restart nor nothing, so i took out the battery and since then im always on a bootloop.
Im using X10 Mini Pro
where to get mini pro 2.1 FW? because seems the links ive found are dead
I have tried to flash with U20 kernel...
the same thing
please anyone ? :X
the strangest thing, i can get in Flash mode via PC companion but here is the message i get....
Did you try going into recovery and just making a clean install of a rom?
And PC Companion is right... you have installed the latest software
i cant get in to recovery mode, because it was cleaned after sonystyle instalation right before reboot...
is it possible to "push" recovery on bootlooped phone?
Agreed, wipe user data and dalvik cache and try a clean install. A bootloop isnt exactly a brick.
Failing that try sony ericsson update service. That should solve your problems.

use SEUS, you can download it from some unofficial site.
There is http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/sony_ericsson/models/seus/7572.html
Recovery - i cant get to recovery, that means i cant clean up the cache.
PC Companion - i have just showed the printscreen
Update Service - it says "i have the latest software"
Isnt there a repair option on pc companion or SEUS?

any ideas?
You need to make sure you are flashin a rom and not a kernel then.
When device is connected and states starting flashing, let go of back button instantly.
Can you access the recovery on phone at all? Continuously tapping back button?
Sent from my X10 Mini Pro using xda premium
but where can i download the stock rom in TFT? all the links seem to be dead (the ones ive found)
yes, i cant access at all
have you tried:
1. right click on flashtool.
2. run as administrator.
3. flash phone.
and you sure all your drivers are installed properly. make sure you restarted your computer after installing drivers. driver pack located in flashtool folder.
With locked bootloader you can not flash other kernels, only roms.
With flashtool and a proper ftf file you should be able to flash the stock rom again
First: you tried to flash a x10i rom on your u20i. This is the main problem I guess. You can not flash a rom that is designed for a completely other phone with different hardware... x10 mino pro is u20i...
You should have known that before flashing...
The error shows an io error. As you were using a wrong ftf file it may be explained by that the u20i flash memory got full while the ftf file wanted to write more on it...
If this information does not bring you further, describe as exactly as you can how your phnone is connected.
Use newst flashtool version.

where to get proper TFT FILE ?
hello guys
sorry for my bad English.
i have a LG P760 for about 6 months, bought it second hand from a friend. the phone had troubles from the beginning with starting up. every time when you started the phone, it couldn't get any furder than the lg logo, so i had to take out the battery, and start the phone again, this happened several times before the lg started.
last time i had this problem, it took me forever, placed the battery like 30 times in and out, so i did a factory reset, but while resetting, the phone died, and i wasn't able to get it back on.. not even with the special key combinations. so i searched around the net for a solution and found one. but when i tried and connected the phone to the pc with a usb cabel holding the up button, i got errors of coprocessor and omap4430, so i installed them both, and tried again. so now the omap4430 keeps connecting and disconnecting, so i can't connect my lg to the pc..
plz help me..
cheerz
pc:
windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz
Radeon HD 7790 Direct CU II OC 1GB
4GB RAM
Ok. This can probably be fixed with a recovery update. Make sure you have the latest lg mobile support tool installed on your pc. Then, power your phone off. I should say that after doing this, it WILL wipe EVERYTHING off your phone... so back up your contacts somehow. So, once youve got the support thing on your pc, open that up. Now plug the usb end of your charging cable to your pc. While holding the UP volume button on your l9, plug in the phone end. Don't do anything until the software upgrade screen pops up on your phone. Then let go of VOL +. Your pc should be installing drivers now, wait till those are done if any. Once the lg support tool says your phone is connected, there should be a drop down in the top right. Click that and click the recovery update option. (I think thats what its called, you should figure it out) then let it work its magic and once your phone reboots you should be set. What this did is wiped the phone COMPLETELY, and reinstalls the OS. Good luck!

first of all, thanks for the reply! but i think you miss understood the problem here. since the phone died, it does not respond on anything.. could it be that the phone fully bricked? when i open lg mobile support tool, and plug it into usb, with the up botton to get in to SW mode like you say, the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting.. on lg support tool, there is nothing happening.. just connecting and disconnecting like 10-12 times...
You might want to look into what installing fastboot drivers imply, if I recall correctly they include drivers for the omap4430 device, once you can get into fastboot and hopefully have your device show up there in your PC screen, you might be able to push a custom recovery or try to reboot the phone via commands.
Its one of those issues you need to be there to try and fix, sorry if I'm not helping much.

You're welcome, Xkore16;
I'm not sure, but I think it depends on your computer and your used ports, anyway, the important thing is to change it to 41.
Cheers. Good luck.
