I dropped my XPS a few days ago, and since that moment it seems like my wifi connection and data connection sometimes fall away, could the drop be the cause, or is it just a coincedence?

Currently on hybrid with the all dpi tablet mod. I get a little bit of lag playing some games like gta3 some lock ups etc. my phone felt faster on ginger bread. Ill flash a rom based off the official ics.
What gb rom would give me the best performance? maybe hoping for better pen and touch response
When I'm doing a full wipe for this phone I'm backing up data /apps to PC then flashing stock with Odin? Then am I rerooting? Sorry lol I should know this...

Try DaGr8's.
You should not have to re-root, and you should always wipe data, cache, and davlik when installing a ROM. I would suggest the new Unofficial Collective ROM beta 3 using the latest ICS leak with UCLD3, I've been really impressed with it so far, really awesome work.

I would have to agree. The Hybrid one really is sexy but a little more buggy. All those guys are making tremendous (and fast) progress. Cheers to all those guys really!

I'm still on hybrid I mean I love it but it feels like touches aren't accurate enough to use my phone lol. Also my phone has the bottom right screen problem and that makes getting the menu bar without the pen annoying.
I'm also quipped with a glas t
I think I may wait for the next version before flashing

Doesn't a factory reset in CWM wipe all three? I could have sworn it does it automatically.
Does wiping those three or doing a factory reset in cwm wipe sd card files pictures and downloaded files etc.
You guys really wipe three times?

No. Sd card is safe(external and internal), unless you do something wrong. Here's what I do and I've never had issues with a ROM. Factory reset 3 time, wipe cache 3 times, wipe dalvik 3 times, format system 3 times, then flash. Probably extremely redundant but I don't care. It takes a couple more seconds and can't hurt.

Hello friends... Now after flashing some mods whenever I restart my phone it says android is upgrading
How to get rid of it...
Coz I really hate when it shows every time...
Please help anyone.
Thanks in advance...

I'm sure someone else can answer this better, but I think "Android is upgrading" is shown when Android is rebuilding the Dalvik cache.
This shouldn't happen if you don't wipe dalvik cache before flashing new stuff.
I'm not sure what the consequences of not wiping dalvik cache are...

Thanks for reply... I didn't wipe it those mods wiped it by itself... But after a factory reset problem will be solved but I don't want to restore everything back again... Thts why I'm not wiping Lol
There sud be another way... Let's see if anyone knows it... After all im on xda

The Android is upgrading message is normal. Just ignore it. It has nothing to do with a factory reset.
If you can find an app that allows you to wipe the dalvik cache then do that. Your phone will rebuild the dalvik cache on reboot and you might find that the upgrading message disappears (it worked for me when I was experiencing this issue a while back).
Andromizer has a dalvik cache wiping facility - you might need root access though.
Thanks for reply guys problem is solved ...

Yes.
I normally do a wipe & completely clean install every 6-8 weeks. It's a couple of hours (in my case) well spent.

You could also try downloading a cache cleaner, which at least gives me a temporary performance boost. And another great option would be running supercharger script, it gives a really nice boost and is pretty simple to apply

Hey guys, i am using cm9 for some time now. Well, to the point, the wifi is not working. It is after a clean flash and wipe, but after a few days it wont connect to any access point "due to low signal". For example, when i tap my home wifi, at full strength by the way, it immediately shows only one bar, and then disconnects and trying to connect again. Anybody know what to do? Thanks!

Finally got time to do this. So, let's do this!
EDIT: Did the steps exactly as you have writen, will see if it works.
Hi,
My s2 has recently started to have very poor battery life. I am on stock JB firmware. I've never rooted this phone, and don't plan to until the phone is out of warranty, which is still about 6 months away.
The phone was pretty full of apps, so I decided to do a factory reset: settings> backup and reset> factory data reset> format USB storage ticked.
This fixed a problem that I was also having with my WiFi connection being slow, but it doesn't seem to have fixed the battery life problem. The phone does not last the day, even with very little use whereas before it could go at least 2 days before the battery went flat.
Is it possible that something has not been wiped during the process and is still causing a problem? Does the 'format USB storage' option wipe the internal SD card?
In the battery menu the biggest drain in 'android OS' with around 50%. This suggests to me there is still something wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Maybe you need new battery..
Check the apps which gives regular wakelocks..
Download wakelock detector and see who is the culprit

maybe you need to wipe dalvik cache and recalibrate battery maybe some times it's a bit a galaxy s2 bug
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18600161
Thanks for the replies,
I don't think its the battery that is the problem, as I would expect a more gradual failure than what I have experienced.
I'll try the wakelock detector, that sounds like a useful tool.
Battery cal and dalvik cache wipe may also help. Is there a way of wiping the dalvik cache without CWM recovery? As I said in the first post, I dont want to root the phone
I think stock android recovery has a option to wipe cache...
Stock android recovery does have a cache wipe option. Does this wipe the dalvik cache too?

So u have good battery life on ics??
Thanks for all your replies on this matter guys. I finally sorted the problem. It was the USB charging port. It was dirty. I cleaned it out with some contact cleaner and battery life is all back to normal. Unfortunately my Wi-Fi problem is back, so I'm starting a new thread about that if any of you knowledgeable guys fancy helping me out!
