[Q] Custom ROM with voodoo sound support for YP-G1EW - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Sorry for the noob question... I have just ordered a Galaxy Player 4.0 16GB YP-G1EW model. I am interested in flashing it with a custom kernel/ROM to get voodoo sound support but I am confused as to the differences between the versions of this device. There seems to be wide support for the international and US versions of the YP-G1 (8GB), but very limited support for the Korean YP-GB1. I have search the forums but found no mention of the YP-G1EW model so my question is, is the YP-G1EW identical to the YP-G1 just with more storage? If so, can I use any of the ROM listed as supporting the YP-G1?
Many thanks.

Hi, Cosimo from Italy, new member. Sorry for my bad english.
Also I have the samsung galaxy s wifi 4.0 16GB.
The correct code is YP-G1EW/XEF it is french (written on the box in french and purchased in france).
Also i have the same doubts about which is the right [STOCK ROM] Full Recovery and [CUSTOM ROM] with voodoo sound support.
Thanks, Cosimo.

Its the international version. Your full recovery would be the XXKPQ France rom and as for a kernel, check the all-in-one thread.

[Q] SGS2 hardware & software

Hi, getting a SGS2, have a few simple q's. Appreciate any feeback:
1. Looking at SGS2 I9100 labeled 'Made by Samsung' (no date, apparently made for EU) vs. another one labeled 'Korean product' (dated 7/2011, made for South America). Anyone aware of any hardware differences of such models?
2. Can I flash any firmware on I9100 regardless of what is installed originally?
3. How to know which languages a firmware supports (I understand CSC settings are not about languages)?
4. Does anyone have feedback of what currently is the most stable and efficient firmware version (stock or non-stock)?
Many thanks!

1. Samsung has factories world wide. Therefore, it is hard to determine that. Only guys in Samsung can tell you that exactly.
2. Yes
3. Try it out? As far as I know, all are stock and default. Means what have in phone A should be in phone B.
4. Total self preference.

Well i know i bought i9100 (international) from VIPnet (Croatian network), but i don't know what't the diference between this forums:
Galaxy S II Original Android Development - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1058
and
Galaxy S II Android Development - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1204
@ android167
want to know the difference with a bit of fun?

Something else to note: there are GT-I9100G ROMs in this forum too. Make sure you don't flash one of those. The GT-I9100 and GT-I9100G have different hardware, so ROMs are incompatible between the two.

[Q] ICS 4 for Galaxy Pocket

There is an ICS ROM posted here in samfirmware.com, it is meant for belgium and I presume it is of the newly released Galaxy pocket plus (S5301) model. Do you guys think it is okay to flash this in our S5300? Does a belgium ROM have english language in it?
Even if not....now that this ROM is available - maybe our famous cooks here can make it work on S5300.

Need help installing chinese rom!!

I've recently bought a note II to and was planning to hand over the phone to my dad.
And since my dad can only read chinese, I was planning to install a new chinese rom.
The SII i have is the international version GT-I9100.
I was planning on doing this with ODIN, but im not sure if there will be any compatability issues.
I also found this guidehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916623

I removed the battery and then connected it to my laptop but there was not reaction.

As far as I know i900g's roms and kernels aren't compatible with i9100's and vice versa....it can lead to bricking your phone.
You can't just change the language in phone to chinese?

Why didn't you buy the international note? It supports Chinese language interface.
I didn't think too much and thought it was a quick flash. Didn't do my research
Please tell me it's possible
The rom nearest to Taiwan would be the Singapore rom. Its ICS not JB. Its what I used last year. I'm betting it would have your language pac. Its listed as N7005 Novena rom by Nunhugger.

What model of i717 go you have? I have an international version N7000. Perhaps a trade.

bump for help ...
bbumpppp
you asked if you can flash a chinese rom on your i717. i717 is for the Northern American market, and so one will not expect to find an official rom that has built-in chinese support. and since it's different from the international GN (n7000) in terms of hardwares, n7000 roms from south-east asia won't install. some have suggested the i717 is very similar to the korean version of GN and those roms can swap with i717's, but you need to google it yourself. Your best bet is to look up chinese forums and get support from enthusiasts in that region, but we know that didn't go well. so there we go.
at the end of the day, I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
